My lab studies the interplay between cancer metabolism and cell cycle dysregulation. Professor. The Wistar Institute

Our lab is expanding and hiring both a postdoc and staff scientist! We study how metabolism and cell cycle states drive tumor progression, therapy response, and immune interactions. Philly is a great place to live and do research! See more at: airdlab.com.

Ever wonder if tRNAs can regulate the identity of a cancer cell? @HsiehLab @FredHutch postdoc @yeonsookim_phd did and discovered a single tRNA that can control lineage dependency and drug sensitivity in prostate cancer published today @Nature: nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Thrilled to see our work on senescence & metastasis out! We found that chemotherapy increases ovarian cancer metastasis in a paracrine manner via fructose. Dietary fructose is sufficient to increase metastatis. This work has multiple implications related to both chemo and diet.

Extra special thanks to @bitlerlabucd who was always there to give feedback, selflessly provide data, and cheer this work on. We are on a crusade to change the way we think about chemo use in ovarian cancer

Another article with real world stats about gender bias in publication. Women corresponding authors are more likely to be desk rejected. The cumulative effects of rejection at all stages for women corresponding authors is striking.
