On Anne Juuko’s Kindness
One thing I learnt in my previous work life is that I am responsible for keeping myself grounded. Humility is a big part of doing that kind of job. Of getting people to work with you & die for you rather than work for & die working!! It is the most effective way to get results & even exceed them. Grounding is central to humility.
Back to its techniques. There are some that may seem bizarre but they work. Like a random prison visit or visiting a cemetery. Attending funerals. For me this has always been a must. Visiting hospitals especially those that cater to the underprivileged. Not to visit a patient, but to see misfortune & suffering. To remind you that this could be you or because of you. It also shapes you into a better person & do fulfilling good, where you are with what you have.
This is why I share with you a story my friend Anne Juuko has written about her involvement with child cancer at @UCCF_Official. And oh🫢! One other technique is to read about these things. That is simpler & perhaps less traumatic. So read this tearjerker if you have the courage.
He could start by explaining why he needs 186 vehicles for a start

Talking of cutting expenditure,I think you should start with parliament ,then lead cars escorting so called higher level government officials .
He runs a fleet of 186 vehicles with a budget bigger than that of @UgandaMFA xitter.cf/observerug/status/2107…

Instead of reducing a government officials fuel from 5m to 2.5m why not just delete that entire budget line? What's the output of these travels apart from going to their private farms using government fuel.
Economics that whacks

Imagine your same ministry using our taxes to buy 500ml water at 10k. How do we call that sir

You are telling us of external pressure but eliminating internal pressure like useless expenditures like parliament, unnecessary expenditures used for political persecution, wrong contracts leading to loss of money, unnecessary bail outs to serial tax defaulters, etc
Replying to @rggoobi
External shocks hit all countries, but they only crush currencies that are already structurally weak. The UGX is battered because the You (treasury) have spent years running massive fiscal deficits, loading up on expensive commercial debt, and funding non productive political patronage. External shocks do not cause a currency collapse on their own; they expose an economy that has no domestic production base and no fiscal buffer. Also about you giving your self credit as government for cutting Shs 3 trillion in consumptive spending is an open confession. Who budgeted that Shs 3 trillion of consumptive waste in the first place? If the Treasury can casually chop Shs 3 trillion in non-essential expenditures overnight, it means the national budget is bloated with massive administrative consumption while ordinary public services remain starved of funds.
Hon @GeorgeMusisi4 still waiting on the engagement with the MD @nwscug as promised earlier 🙄 @bernandema @KiraMunicipali1

The PAC report on Vote 130 your own Ministry shows Shs13.9 billion on fuel, Shs5.05 billion on vehicle maintenance for 186 vehicles, and Shs59 billion on travel and transport. That is over Shs107 million per car per year.

@UgandaCoffee_ thank you so much for sending your mobile coffee truck & team to serve coffee at our #CoffeeRetreat on Appropriate Financing For The Coffee Value Chain. People didn’t realize they were busy enjoying pure fermented robusta coffee grown at the venue, @RugyeyoFarmLtd 🤣! This is what reimagining robusta looks like.
