Some people, when confronted with a government problem, think "I know, I'll use politics." Now they have two problems.

We will keep getting poorer until this line starts going up again.

how's everyone doing now that all the frontier-level open weight cyberattack models have now been out for months and hacked all our systems, collapsing society into an apocalyptic wasteland?

I was afraid of having kids my whole life and days after my first I am so mad at myself for not starting sooner. This is the absolute best. I love this little stinker so freaking much. Find a good woman and have kids. ASAP. Churn em out.

After thinking on this for a day, there’s no explanation that makes sense to me except that Anthropic is hyping AI fear so the government steps in, regulates the heck out of it, and locks out the competition. They want a monopoly/ duopoly with OpenAI because the genuine threat for them is cheap open-source AI crushing their profits. If they don’t get a government moat, their whole business model could get completely wrecked.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

As we are all aware, 'democracy' means the idea that you must never, ever cut immigration. Parties which want to cut migration are by definition a threat to democracy, and the political system must therefore be set up such that they are locked out of power.

Third worldification isn’t when you import millions of third worlders into the country - which is great! - it’s when a rich white woman rides a horse
Third worldification of the United States is nearly complete, we’ve reached dictator’s child ostentatiously showcasing wealth her family embezzled from the country while the unwashed masses struggle phase

This is what I've been feeling for the last month or so, put into words. Mind, I'm usually wrong about things like this.
We are going to see the ingress of Right Wing Thought into the category of Acceptable Discourse over the next few years. It will be piecemeal and janky. It will not be "clean code." This will be frustrating and destructive. Why is this the case? The current metaframework of governance, by which I mean the structure of structures we use to govern both political and Political realms, is counterintuitively resilient and fragile. It is remarkably resilient in the face of reality and hard data, but it is incredibly fragile in terms of its mythological underpinning. The system we have in place can tank literally countless rapes, murders, assaults, thefts, and wanton property destruction, but it goes into panic mode lockdown if a load bearing myth gets challenged by a celebrity or an elite. It's hard for me to parce this, as it flies in the face of my logic and intuition, like I am upside down underwater but my brain is convinced I'm standing upright in the open air. This is my subjective failing, probably an artifact of chronic Rightwingedness. But others may be more properly equipped to analyze this and understand the inherent characteristics. I suspect these types will not necessarily be "Right Wing." Recently, there was an exchange between an Americanized sandnigger and a bog standard libtard that was fascinating. I think the libtards name is Noah, but I try not to ever give these kinds the courtesy of humanity, so I'm not sure. Anyway, the libtard told the camel jockey that "racism" no longer works as a rhetorical bludgeon. Here at the Reasonable Racism division of TOMCorp, we have known this to be true for at least 5 years, and we are happy to see the market catching up to the science. But this Noah guy isn't an ally. He's not on side. He has not come to his senses or seen the light. It is simply the case that his back is up against a wall he can no longer pretend doesn't exist or doesn't matter to him. This is not a singular or unique case. Very recently, a Boeing 767 over shot it's landing and killed at least five people. Preliminary ATC recordings indicate that at least one pilot was a foreigner, or a paperwork American that speaks broken English. I don't think we are quite at the point where the carrier, or the mega corporation they were working for, are ready to hang their pet minorities out to dry, at least not as corporate policy. But as cases of incompetence, recklessness, or carelessness increase in frequency, there will be a lot of backs getting shoved up against walls they previously didn't acknowledge existed. The academy, piss on them one and all, is the rhetorical font of honors and the allowable for our current system. They are a Permission Granting Structure which plays an important role for a society that has erected The Science™ as a tin & clay replacement for God. We need experts for when things go right, and we need them for when things go wrong. We need them to confirm what we know, and to confirm that it makes sense when we don't know. Elements of the academy are already adopting points & positions that frogs & frens were exploring a decade previous. I expect this trend to continue and increase. I also expect a fair amount of gray hair watching these midwit simpletons pretend they've discovered these things. Such is life. Expect strange bedfellows going forward, and don't expect credit, apologies, or kindness. Take the wins as they come, and remember: It's only a matter of time, and in a state of Nature, you keep what you kill.

The best evidence that the fads might be causing this problem is that one of the few countries to escape the general fall in scores is England - also one of the few countries to explicitly reject the fads and take a different approach. Contrast with Scotland - a similar country which had basically the same PISA scores as England in 2012. Since then the two countries took very different educational approaches and Scottish students are now about a year behind English ones in maths & science (and behind by a smaller amount in reading). I wrote about this in 2013, but it's even more stark now. substack.nomoremarking.com/p…

The idea that severely mentally ill people are going to be free to live in our world if we sprinkle “services” on them is what leads to this. It puts first responders and civilians in harm’s way so we don’t have to pay for or deal with the unpleasantries of institutionalization.
The woman who murdered the victim was "known" to police as having mental health issues. The issue then, once again, is the failure of mental health treatment and "services." We're doing it wrong. And now two women are dead, one quite undeservedly. nypost.com/2026/09/01/us-new…

On top of that, tons of crime is committed by ppl who commit dozens of minor crimes. We need a legal framework to lock those ppl up forever!

This is slower than the increase in personal independence payment claims over the same period. England and Wales had 2.6 million in 2022, now at 4 million so a 54% increase. War creates fewer disabled people than welfare.

Saying that Cofnas has blood on his hands along with a picture of him is worse than what Cofnas (or any media) said against Arday. The double standard is so blatant and ridiculous. 5,300 people supporting a witch hunt on a person for ... starting a witch hunt (according to them).

My biggest problem with most forms of modern liberalism is that I reject that we’ve made substantial moral progress over the last few hundred years. You are not the moral superiors of your ancestors. I think, in fact, you’re just lucky to be alive in a time where it’s possible to express alternative moral positions, because of technological progress and improved material conditions. I think that you’d behave exactly as your ancestors did, given the same information and constraints under which they labored. And I think, further, the outrageous narcissism and arrogance that results from believing that all human beings up until about five minutes ago were racist and sexist pieces of shit is really deranging people’s sense of society and of their place in it. And this, ultimately, makes them their ancestors’ moral inferiors in most ways that matter.
growing up, i knew my great-grandmother and used to spend the summer holidays with her and my grandma. i knew all of my parents’ aunts and uncles. my dad told me stories about his great-grandparents and their relatives during the great war and wwii. our house had dozens of framed family photographs, and we were expected to know everyone's name and which branch of the family they belonged to, even if they were the great uncle's cousin's son. my grandma knew our family tree back at least eight generations. you grew up knowing you were one piece in a large lineage that began long before you and was supposed to continue long after you. there was genuine pride in what came before and a sense of duty to what came after. modern man has been removed from history and locked in the present. the past is forgotten or has become something to be ashamed of, the future became abstract and something to fear, and life shrank to career, consumption, individualism and self-expression. then one day people realize the chain ends with them. by then, often, it is too late. a civilization that teaches people to be ashamed of their ancestors should not be surprised when so many stop wanting to become ancestors themselves.
