A look at the damage from Saturday's tornado in Santa Fe. The tornado has been rated a high-end EF-1, with 110 mph winds. It traveled 1.4 miles, damaging 10 homes, power poles, and trees. This was Santa Fe's first documented tornado in 55 years. 📸 PNM, City of Santa Fe #NMwx

Voter registration lady: Asenap, is that German? Me: It’s Comanche…Native American. Germans seem to like us though? Voter registration lady stares blankly.

In 1994, Ukraine gave up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal on America’s word. This month, the president traded that word for a diesel deal with Putin. Watch what he does for Putin. It shows what he wants to do with his power over you. 👇🏼

President felon still owes the city of Albuquerque money.
Trump: “New Mexico should immediately change its name to New America.” What an unhinged crackpot #25thAmendmentNow

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

Actually we were correct to note Trump’s routinely bizarre, obsequious posture toward Putin. Just because you chose not to see it until now when it’s shoved directly in everyone’s face doesn’t make us hysterical, it makes you transparently wrong all along.
There's been a lot of hysteria over the years at Trump's posture towards Russia, which has often been worse rhetorically than practically. But this time, the wolf comes as a wolf.

Hate to say it but America has a long tradition of not keeping it's word. #breakintreaties
Very good timing to see it in your feed.

New Mexico is home to 23 sovereign tribes, nations, and pueblos, each with rich cultures, languages, and traditions that have shaped this land for thousands of years. Today is a day to celebrate Indigenous resilience, recognize the ongoing contributions of Native peoples, and recommit to honoring tribal sovereignty and supporting Indigenous communities. Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Finally saw that other summer film Obsession. So much better than Backrooms. Leagues better. With no name actors even.

I was pulled in both directions, my southwest home and my birthplace. What a game! OU needs a lot of work this season; UNM displayed a lot of poise and talent and may win the Mountain West!
Hard-fought night in Norman.

Did a deep dive into the work of the trailblazing Hopi experimental filmmaker Victor Masayesva Jr. for El Palacio magazine. It was great talking to him about Indigenous film: elpalacio.org/2026/09/more-q…

The president doesn’t have the power to change New Mexico’s name, as he hints here. He can direct the federal government to change the names of geographical features like the Gulf of Mexico/Lake America, but not states. New Mexico has been called Nuevo Mexico since the 1500s, before the establishment of Mexico as a country and before the United States existed.
