@MunCorpGurugram these machines are generating more dust than they are removing. Plz equip these with water-spraying and effective dust-collection systems. Help in reducing pollution instead of adding to it. 🙏 #AirPollution @CPCB_OFFICIAL @gurgaon_live @DC_Gurugram @cmohry

Am quite amused at the brouhaha over @deepigoyal and Temple. If you don’t want to wear it, don’t but why the bitterness and the cynicism?
He hasn’t asked you for your money or your opinion and what’s more he isn’t putting a temple to your head forcing you to wear one! So chill…

Exactly the point I’ve made repeatedly and in my book WTF India: Are we losing the plot: the unwillingness of those in power to do anything qua pollution hits the poorest of the poor hardest and the shameless dolts who are responsible are enjoying their tax-payer funded air purifiers.

Gurgaon needs to decide if it needs the local tax base, increase in property values which delivers stamp duty and property tax, or slowly lose all of its residents with a brain.
Every single road in every single sector is full of dust and debris. I have raised complaints on every government department and app there is, and no action ever occurs, or the root problem is not solved.
The time is not far when people laugh when you tell someone you live in Gurgaon. The reason they don't laugh today is they live in some equally decrepit part of Delhi NCR.
@narendramodi ji, can you please plan visits to each sector of Gurgaon for two hours each month? We will like to at least temporarily see our neighborhoods not look like w*r zones.

Hello @MunCorpGurugram You’ve spent crores on roads that will be choked & footpaths that can’t be walked on. This is opposite Supermart 1 down the road from Vyapar Kendra. How does one cross the road? Can we please make Gurgaon liveable again? @LloydMathias @Suhelseth @ddey67

@MunCorpGurugram @HspcbS @cmohry @OfficialGMDA @CPCB_OFFICIAL this is the state of sector 14 Gurgaon amid the pollution levels. The contractor is not even equipped to sprinkle the water over loose dust. kids, elderly, medically compromised people are living in this condition

Story of GCER!
Plan an Eight-Lane road, name it Golf Course Ext Rd. Construct only six lanes coz traffic is less. Announce an underpass on the rd coz now traffic is heavy. Prepare DPR. Realise we are inefficient and INCOMPETENT of building an underpass coz all underpasses

@OfficialGMDA @pcmeenalIAS Is this the quality of road widening work being delivered? Loose gravel, exposed soil, uneven patchwork are already visible. It won’t last. At least, plz clear leftover debris and loose material properly? Location- Golf course ext road #GCER #gurugram

Thank you, @OfficialGMDA, for reverting to our July post.
I presume you are referring to the service road in front of St. Xavier’s School , Sector 49 Gurugram as falling under PWD jurisdiction, or is it the adjoining intersection?
I have attached pictures of both. Interestingly, the intersection itself carries signage stating that it is maintained by GMDA.
Could you please tick-mark the location you are referring to?
Also, is GMDA coordinating with @HaryanaPwd on this, or are citizens expected to pursue the matter with the concerned department themselves?
Awaiting your clarity so we can take this forward. Dust exposure here is severe, with schoolchildren among those most directly affected. It is perplexing that an area with such vulnerable users has remained neglected for so long.
Surely, inter-departmental coordination should not become the responsibility of citizens.

India's potholes aren't an engineering problem. They're an accountability problem. When did you last see a contractor blacklisted for a road that broke in its first monsoon?

So from tomorrow we will have to shut ourselves in homes and stop construction to escape pollution. Gurugram and Faridabad topped Country in pollution yesterday and were among top 10 in World.
Dubai is constructing 24X7 more and bigger projects has more vehicles than us then why doesn’t it choke? Why is there no AQI crises may be its not factors but intent and solutions which lack here. WFH is not answer to all problems.

Are these instances also being addressed under the air pollution control measures? This is at Prakash Dhaba, near Santosh Sweets, Pataudi Chowk, Basai Road.
Smoke from a tandoor is spreading, contributing to air pollution. #AQI

Mr. Kannan, with all due respect, I don’t think your tweet fully captures the reality of professional badminton.
A first-round exit at Wimbledon earns £80,000. Winning the China Open, one of badminton’s richest tournaments, earns $140,000. Lose in the first round? Just $2,000.
Yet our expenses are largely similar. Travel, coaches, physios, trainers and support teams. I’ve had long conversations with Rohan Bopanna about this very disparity.
I agree that established athletes should strive to be financially independent. I’ve been fortunate to have wonderful sponsors, but not everyone has that privilege. That’s also why organisations like @OGQ_India are so important.
More importantly, if you read Mihir’s article in full, you’ll see that younger players had to compete without coaches, while several withdrew from tournaments.
I can find ways to fund my tour. But what about the 18-year-old chasing her dreams, hoping to become the next Sindhu or Lakshya?
And I must acknowledge the tremendous support the Government of India and @Media_SAI have extended to athletes like us over the years. Their contribution to Indian sport cannot be understated.
Accountability is absolutely necessary. But supporting athletes isn’t bleeding the system. It’s investing in India’s sporting future. And we shouldn’t lose sight of that.
How long will our elite athletes, who are professionals, bleed the system.
I mean, can not a PV Sindhu or Lakshya Sen fund own tours.
Look at a sport like tennis, players get nothing.
I will not find fault with @Media_SAI here

Gurugram is in the midst of a serious public health crisis and air emergency.
Respected Haryana Environment Minister @RaoNarbir ji How can @MCManesar @ulbharyana and accept roads covered in dust and debris as normal? GRAP Stage II is invoked, yet basic dust control remains missing. Have we normalised these conditions simply because it has persisted for years?
The amount of time spent in meetings, discussions, sermons and travelling to attract investments …can we not devote some of that urgency to fixing basic civic deficiencies? Even third world countries have better infrastructure!
Start with dust-free roads, proper dust suppression and greening our roadsides.
Is even this so difficult?

Every year, bureaucrats across the country are required to declare the immovable assets they own — a guardrail in force since 2011 to deter corruption and keep those who run the government accountable in the public eye.
But their latest asset declarations show how loose this safeguard actually is, a review by The Indian Express shows.
