The decision of the Chief Magistrate to proceed with recount after it became apparent that the security & integrity of several ballot boxes & other essential electoral materials had been compromised amounted to non-compliance with electoral laws.   The EC failed in its role to ensure safe custody of all election documents..   The EC’s failure to safeguard the ballot boxes & related electoral materials required for the recount constituted non-compliance with the law.   The Chief Magistrate acted in non-compliance with the law by declaring Justine Nameere as the winner following the recount.  (Emphasis mine) However, I am also declaring you winner ordering the petitioner to pay costs of the petition!

This morning, we hosted the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. She’s in Uganda on a fact-finding mission, following concerns raised over gross human rights violations, particularly those reported during the recently concluded General Elections. Ugandas is a signatory to the Commonwealth Charter, which outlines commitment to democracy, good governance, human rights and the rule of law. Our Country has been placed on a formal agenda to review human rights and democracy standards, following human rights violations.

Today, one of the reasons Gov’t gave us for the increase in fuel prices was the increase in excise duty on fuel. During the budget process, we told Gov't that an increase in tax on fuel, however small, would be problematic, but they didn’t listen! #KeepingTheGovtInCheck

It was not just us that opposed the sovereignty bill, the BOU Governor Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego noted on April 28th 2026 that; “the law will lead to a substantial depreciation of the Ugandan currency.” On the other hand, fuel prices are skyrocketing, driving up the cost of essential commodities! #KeepingTheGovtInCheck

Archbishop Kaziimba has this evening concluded his farewell visit to Madi West Nile Diocese with prayer visits to retired Bishop Joel and Maama Rev. Canon Joy Obetia at their home in Zambia Zone, Arua City, and Maama Canon Susan Wani, widow of the late Archbishop of the @ChurchofUganda_, The Most Rev. Silvanus Wani. Bishop Obetia, the former Bishop of Madi West Nile Diocese, retired from teaching at @UCUniversity recently following a stroke that left the left side of his body paralysed. The two families commended Archbishop Kaziimba for his compassion and continued care for retired Church ministers, their spouses and the families of those who have gone to be with the Lord. Maama Susan Wani particularly thanked the Archbishop for personally building her a self-contained house after an impromptu visit to her home two years ago, during which he found her living in a dilapidated house. She said @Archbp_COU has consistently ensured that she does not lack, providing her with both financial and spiritual support over the years. The Archbishop was accompanied by Rt Rev Charles Collins Andaku, the Bishop of Madi West Nile.

Museveni's Son tweeted that "The time of old dinosaurs LIKE Otafiire is over." That's an interesting "like" given that at 75, Otafiire is a whole EIGHT years younger than Museveni. Moreover, KO is younger than at least FIVE ministers including the Minister of Education...

Here is a letter which Lt. Mabonga Herbert Matanda wrote to Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi while he was in that torture chamber, where he spent 19 days. He passed on the original letter to him, but took a picture of it, which he released yesterday. Mabonga represents thousands of senior, mid-level and junior officers in all departments of UPDF, police and intelligence services who vehemently oppose the criminal system but are held captive and cannot speak out. The only difference is that Mabonga had the courage to speak out. We have long told the people of Uganda that each time we're arrested or abducted, these officers will approach us and tell us how they're more disgusted by the system than most people can imagine. Those who agree with the system and its atrocities are a very small fraction who are privileged and benefit from the pervasive corruption and nepotism within the forces. I remain hopeful that one day, the patriotic officers will have enough courage to stand with the oppressed people of Uganda and live true to their oath to pay allegiance to the nation of Uganda and not the falling regime of blood and national shame. UGANDA WILL BE FREE!

You can easily pass by this house and think it's a normal home. Yet this is a torture chamber manned by SFC, located at Abayita Ababiri, Kabaale B Village on Entebbe Road. At this house and the adjacent facilities, Ugandans and non-Ugandans are subjected to incredible torture. Some accounts indicate that some victims could not take it and when they died, they were simply buried behind this house in unmarked graves. And yet this is just one of the many torture chambers operated by the Museveni system. There are several such places in every Division of Kampala and Wakiso, and in most districts of Uganda. Sadly, these are houses in our neighborhoods, and the people who commit atrocities against our people live amongst us. Thankfully, they're being exposed one by one, and so shall they account for every crime committed against our people!

Lest the world forget forget, dictator Museveni's deranged son, Muhoozi, had comrade Eddie Mutwe abducted in April last year. Muhoozi later posted a photo of Eddie Mutwe, shirtless and appearing to bleed, boasting that he was teaching him Runyankore and using him as a punching bag. He added that I was next on his list. Once the coward Muhoozi felt he had tortured Eddie enough, he sent him to jail where he remains to this day; denied bail everytime he has sought it. And yet Muhoozi still isn't satisfied. He is now threatening to hang Eddie Mutwe, and other NUP prisoners, "soon"! The good news is that we worship a Living God, and are taking whatever action we can to subdue this monster. Uganda will survive Museveni and his witless son, the same way it has survived every other tyrant before them!

It is not easy working for Government of Uganda these days. From elected officials to Presidential appointees, you might be ordered to apologise anytime for anything - whether you know your fault or not! Being an in-law to the President or having been a loyal General to the Commander-in-Chief cannot spare you either! Lest I forget, even other sovereign nations with economies that are over 8 times bigger than ours are not spared either. We are still in the phase of audacity in the asking of apologies, but we will soon have audacity in the apologies themselves and it is at that turn that we shall petition Parliament to rename the Uganda Management Institute as the Chris Baryomunsi Institute of Management Studies. With each passing day, people are realising that there is/was wisdom in how Chris Baryomunsi handled the situation. You will all give that Mukiga man his flowers in the fullness of time because he now goes about his work without any fear of somebody asking him for apologies that have got no legs, ears nor eyes! There is a Ganda saying that the owner of the shrine/temple is normally the one that desecrates it! Happy Sunday!
