This paragraph by Richard Feynman hits so hard: “Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn’t stop you from doing anything at all.”

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world. Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy. It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.” they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception. And the results are wild. participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile. they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence. the paper revealed a brutal paradox: the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain. if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing. this creates a dangerous systemic loop. the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions. meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse. top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else. they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add. we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence. the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't. the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

My nephew’s been unemployed since finishing F2 Aug 26. He would love to become an anaesthetist. He is moving to New Zealand next month to work in A&E since he can’t get a job beyond locuming or progress his career in the UK. It’s bonkers we’re exporting doctors🤯 @YvetteCooperMP

This is in very bad faith Yuvraj. You are a good cricketer, you are a strong human, a cancer survivor. But you are an absolute health and science illiterate. People like you and your business of bad science deeply damages science literacy and public health in our society. It is a pathetic. You can be powerful allies for cancer patients and oncology societies and use your voice to educate people on evidence-based preventative care and direct cancer patients towards science-based care for improved survival outcomes. But instead, you chose to team up with unethical businessmen - some with long degrees, lengthy certifications and in high positions without any functioning brain cell - and among them, one of the worst "health" influencers on the internet right now, the so-called cancer surgeon Arpit Bansal who is a pseudoscience sympathizer, an Ayurveda apologist and quite similar to Luke Coutinho, but with actual medical degrees wasted. Know this first: Cancer patients who use alternative medicine die sooner, study finds - nbcnews.com/health/health-ne… Now coming to your product - P32 Among the 32 listed ingredients with 35+ distinct compounds in them, 13 carry documented risks of organ toxicity, mineral toxicity, capable of causing/promoting atherosclerosis inducing toxin generation, and with high rates of toxic environmental contamination. Four ingredients - Ashwagandha, Bacopa, Curcumin and Boswellia are among the most frequently implicated botanicals in liver injury in LiverTox registries. When they come together, it is going to be disastrous. medpagetoday.com/gastroenter… - The person who designed this complex formulation is really a clown. Nearly all 30 active ingredients in this 32-ingredient supplement lack solid scientific proof for the health benefits promised on the label. First, the company's own chart admits that eight ingredients have no gold-standard human trials behind them - two are just inactive fillers, and six rely on weaker data or are added only for safety, yet are still marketed as multi-organ boosters. At least 11 ingredients are "fairy-dusted," meaning the sachet contains only a tiny fraction of the daily dose actually proven to work in human studies. High-level clinical and translational evidence demonstrates that several components in this sachet can actually increase cancer risk or accelerate tumor progression in healthy adults: Vitamin E (prostate cancer), combined folic acid+B12 (lung and colon cancer) and NAC, Vit E, Vit C, Astaxanthin (increase risk of cancer spread). See this paper: Supplement Use and Increased Risks of Cancer: Unveiling the Other Side of the Coin - pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article… Finally, the product stretches basic science by assuming that because a nutrient deficiency harms certain organs, taking extra amounts will supercharge those same organs in healthy adults who already get enough nutrients. Your product is absolute BS just like the whole of herbal and dietary supplement industry is. Have some shame selling this nonsense to public and people with cancer. I hope nobody accepts your stupid invite.
My second innings starts now. In 2011, I played the World Cup with cancer. Nobody knew. Neither did I. Now I take my daily health very seriously. So should entire India. Most Indians who take supplements take one, two or three. That isn’t enough to run the body. So we built Protocol32: 32 FSSAI-approved supplements, in the right quantities for an average Indian, working together to run 13 chains in the body. One sachet a day, mixed in water or milk. Co-formulated with Dr. Anurag Agrawal and Dr. Arpit Bansal. Built with Prashant Pitti and Prasad C P. Made in Bangalore. Swipe through to see every supplement, every dose and every chain. Protocol32 is invite only. The first batch is only a few hundred people, and we’re starting with fitness, health and nutrition creators, doctors, dietitians, entrepreneurs and celebrities. Britain’s speech landscape has a few circles of hell that are worth note; Dante Alighieri would have blushed. It is abundantly clear why someone would operate pseudonymously in a country that is a complete stranger to the Freedom of Speech, I outline those circles of speech-hell here: 1) The Criminal law: Our most famous, is the realm of Criminal speech – here lies the Public Order Act (s.4 onward), Communications Act & OSA offences. It carries penalties ranging from depravation of liberty (as with Connolly, Wayne O’Roarke, G Linehan), to life altering fines. It is frequently exploited by activists. 2) Regulatory & Employment law: Below it lies the lesser known realm of professional regulation, with around 60 regulated professions - regulators hungrily venture into the private lives and out-of-work speech of professionals, looking to leverage the middle class into silence. For those not in a profession, your HR department functions as a micro-regulator - the tribunals will agree with them, and the FSU will often not touch anything besides an easy win (in terms of PR and law). The state of the law is not kind to their mission - given our lack of meaningful legislative protection - your speech is not protected. This eye of Sauron covers everything from MPs to unskilled care workers - our entire institutional landscape. A calculated political foe can use this against you to inconvenience your professional life and means of generating a living – the protocol of professional regulation, and the employment tribunal, will likely even thank them. 3) The final layer of this inferno; smear, calculated ostracism (defamation) and loss of opportunity. Often called cancel culture - but it is worse than that. Here lies the realm of betrayal and exploitation of the British convention of squeamishness toward any deviation from the mean. It includes, doxxing & outsourcing of harm to the mob. It is the special-interest activity of plainly partisan NGOs such as Hope Not Hate & professional activists, typically with nothing to lose themselves. It sits outside of most legal remedy available to the Englishman (defamation suits can run to 6 figures with ease in complex instances, and the Englishman is categorically a poor man now). This is why only those with tepid beliefs are able to speak without consequence, and, are invited into the limelight. The demons who who exploit this legal framework to dispose of the courageous, and exploit the natural squeamishness of the British public in doing so, would gladly kill you if they could do so and get away with it.
Why do so many ethno-obsessives on this site operate under fake names? I mean, if they really believed their arguments were mainstream and respectable, why wouldn't they post under their own names? Could it be that they know deep down that their views are seen as extreme by the real mainstream?

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has written a striking piece on the India he’s watched change since 2003. Three things stood out to me: 1. The sporting depth (athletes + women’s cricket) 2. Yoga going global via Fit India 3. Serious wildlife work (cheetahs, lions, Big Cat Alliance) Worth reading. Good governance of Modi ji on improving sports facilities, which the world is noticing!

Look at what Arteta got after finishing 5th, look at what Klopp got after finishing in the top 4 with Liverpool, & look at what Carrick got in today's market after finishing 3rd. Clueless on what the future holds. Thank you to the fans at OT for staying up for Carrick! #Mufc #PL
