Chamath Palihapitiya says SpaceX could double or triple what Anthropic pays for compute by pulling one 90 day clause "SpaceX and Anthropic's compute deal has a mutual 90 day out" "It allows SpaceX to reprice that compute at the spot rate, which is probably double... it could probably triple" "All the game theory literally comes down to this one deal and whether Elon decides to rip it" With post-midterm data center permits in doubt after a week that erased close to $4 trillion in market cap, Chamath argued capacity owners become kingmakers while neoclouds that rent compute get squeezed ($GOOGL $AMZN $CRWV $NVDA) If new data centers stall, whoever already owns the power and the racks sets the price, and the renters pay it via @theallinpod, featuring @chamath

SpaceX and Tesla have prospered in Texas, because we were not constantly operating under an oppressive and extractive state government. And I need to be close to the factories, so that I can walk the floor in person. That’s why the first major SpaceX factory was in LA and first major Tesla factory was in SF Bay Area. As California became increasingly difficult, due to extreme taxes and overregulation, we moved our major domestic expansions and HQ to Texas.

Improvement in capabilities. Not necessarily improvement in alignment or safety.

Imagine telling someone in 1850 that you’re opposed to machines replacing human labor because people need jobs. They’d probably think you were insane. People weren’t working 14-hour days in factories because they loved employment. They were working because they had no alternative. Yet here we are, nearly 200 years later, treating the preservation of human labor as some kind of moral obligation. The objective was never to create jobs. The objective was to create prosperity. Somewhere along the way, we confused the two.

Anthropic’s UNRELEASED MODEL helped researchers solve an 18 year old conjecture in quantum computing. it’s interesting how far ahead these internal models are compared to what the public has available.
Today Physical Superintelligence PBC is announcing a proof of the Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture, one of the central open problems in quantum complexity, with major implications for quantum computing speedup. psi.inc/research/aaronson-am… Thread 👇

Lol Google's 13F is basically a SpaceX fund now. In Yesterdays filing they showed that 94.8% of their entire portfolio is SpaceX stock Not only did they not sell a single stock, they even accumulated another 3,854,060 SpaceX shares in the last 3 months. Do I need to remind you that google is already the second biggest shareholder of SpaceX? And have held SpaceX for the past decade without selling? Now they have 555,043,560 shares in total. $83.7B in $SPCX. $4.6B in everything else. Be like google if you want generational wealth. $SPCX

SpaceX revenue this quarter alone will be substantially higher than NASA’s entire annual budget!
Many people claim SpaceX is subsidized by NASA, but that is false. NASA provided ~5% of SpaceX revenue. SpaceX earned its contracts by offering the best product at the lowest price, & it is the only astronaut transport option that meets NASA safety standards.

Exactly 😂 Tesla has no government contracts and President Trump ended federal incentives for electric vehicles. SpaceX contracts with the government are BOTH the best product AND the lowest price! Moreover government revenue will be less than 10% of SpaceX revenue this quarter and less then 5% a year from now. Happy to cancel any that the government doesn’t want. Just say the word!
Elon please send this January 1: Dear Senate & House Democrats, Many of you criticize my companies receiving federal contracts. I hereby offer to cancel. Please publish a list of each contract to cancel with any required agency consent, and we will cancel promptly. Sincerely, Elon Musk
