5 years ago was the market pico top
get in now while these larpers doom posting, this might be the pico bottom of this cycle
Papertrade and $pstr either become Friendtech or Hyperliquid of this cycle.
Hopefully the latter since im ball deep in it.
with papertrade's upcoming PAPER emission design, total supply no longer trends towards a final number. every $ lost mints a fixed share of supply, so supply keeps scaling with activity.
the old play of grabbing as big a % of PAPER as possible and being set for life, is over. players will have to keep competing for their % of supply. stop and inflation dilutes you towards zero.
paperstrategy is built around a flywheel that never stops minting. as long as we keep minting more than the inflation, our % grows.
90-day projection at our current pace under the new curve:
stop minting: 2% → ~0.7–1.2%
paperstrategy: 2% → ~3.2-4.4%,
our share of all PAPER would double in 90 days. in PAPER count we would go from 180M to ~0.8-1B (×4 to ×5).
built to be the biggest.

A thread on @papertrade_xyz , or as I like to think of it
Schrödingers ponzi
What's it worth? (if anything at all)
How to value it?
How to farm it (not by losing on purpose, thats retarded)

Real talk
If you’re on the wrong side during a big move like this, most of your immediate impulses are gonna suck
Greatest hits:
1. Revenge short - Can’t believe I missed this piece of shit scam pumping; it’s up so much it HAS to come down
2. Oversized buy - I will use leverage as a time travel machine to make up for being late
3. TA cope - It has to retest the exact level it broke out from immediately because I watched two whole Babypips videos on 1.5x speed
4. All-or-nothing - My only options are 0%. exposure or 100%, nothing in between exists
5. Deer in headlights - oh geez I guess I should wait for a pullback but no what if the consolidation is the pullback hmm maybe I’ll wait for a range to form but what if that range breaks down do I buy the retest of the breakout or the range reclaim oh man fuck shit what’s Ansem saying
6. Overtrader - I will cement my bloodline on the 5 minute chart; if this next candle is the wrong colour I will either be rich or poor
Just chill out, delete your levels, pretend you haven’t looked at the chart in weeks - fresh eyes
Then it’s the usual list of simple questions:
1. What signals are firing / what do I think is gonna happen
2. What kind of bet am I making (mean reversion/volatility expansion/new trend/momentum/Blackrock scam etc.) and on what time horizon
3. Where am I wrong
4. Does my position size match the current volatility and align with the shape of my trade idea i.e. points 1-3
FWIW I’m washed but gonna try to jam some spot sub 70k. If it gets accepted below 66-67k (retraces the breakout) then I’ll lose money
“Wow it’s up so much what you buy the top?”
Then I’ll lose money and look silly on social media. That’s the cost of doing business (at least the first one).
Just start LARPing like everyone else and instead of saying “I bought the top” say “I aggressively rebalanced when an ensemble of carefully weighed momentum factor signals fired contemporaneously.”

“So you spent the last 8 years trading low float high fdv crypto tokens and learned how hard they can scam pump initially”
“That’s correct”
“And then you went over to trade stocks and shorted SpaceX on launch week despite knowing it could do the same thing”
“That’s correct Dave”
“All because fintwit told you it was overvalued and wasn’t profitable”
“Yes that’s right”
Crypto people trashing on SpaceX IPO forgot that low float, high FDV concept is not limited to crypto at all.
1.75T FDV doesn’t matter if Musk owns 95% of it
float at IPO is just about 70B mcap. Its already been tokenized. You dont think it can get a clean 2x?
quant this quant that how about you guys quant yourself out of your mom basement
its that time of the cycle again, real men try to go from archon to legend

This might not be the end of AI, similar to how 2000 was not the end of the internet, and 2018 was not the end of crypto.
But this is likely the beginning of a bear market for AI stocks, which have been carrying the growth of US equities for the past two years. Which could lead to a bear market for US stocks and the broader economy, which could trigger a recession, not only in the US but globally, which in turn could fuel wars and conflicts worldwide.
Probably the end of everything.

While it's true to some extent, the landscape of the industry has changed over the past few years, to the point that even if VCs can write checks to the right projects, it doesn't mean they'll be in profit. So I don't think 25/26 are going to be historic vintages.
Here's why:
- Low valuation ≠ good investment. This is happening across industries, not just crypto. Buying GameFi/metaverse at low valuations doesn't seem cheap anymore they are 0 anw. Meanwhile Polymarket, Hyperliquid, and other fundamentally strong companies keep rising.
- Exit path is the real problem. There's little to no demand after TGE. Retail has been trained that VC unlock = dump. You buy cheap, but who the fuck are you going to sell it to?
- VCs still follow herd mentality. Less competition but all of them deploy into the 25th prediction market. They are still narrative driven. Which mean they gonna back the same shitty projects still
- The alpha may actually lie in contrarian founders. We're at the point where the next unicorn might be some guy in a basement vibe- coding. But VCs still want to back LinkedIn-polished founders with warm intros. Can't blame them its just how the model works. The problem is that by the time a contrarian thesis is "proven enough" for consensus VCs to get comfortable, the upside is already compressed.
- The liquidity environment also isn't helping. A VC deploying in 2026 likely can't exit until 2028 or later. Who knows what the world looks like by then. Trump bomb another country = you stuck another year while LP demand funds back.
- Community rounds and fair launches may be the real meta. If liquidity flows back into crypto, this could also be the return of community pools.
So are VCs dead? Not likely, crypto just dont have enough upside for them anymore. Venture investing is still a thing, capital will always find its way from those who need to deploy to founders with potential. It just might not flow through the traditional VC model anymore.
The shift in the crypto fundraising landscape the past 6 months has been insane.
Crypto VCs used to have to constantly be networking/writing/podcasting/going on spaces/promoting your thesis/getting on 10 deal flow calls a week, to get into good deals...now it's literally enough to just have capital to write checks.
Deals are being pushed rather than dug out. Inbound if people know you have money is at an all-time high.
Most firms are either 1) Out of money 2) Moved to Series A and beyond or 3) Fundraising (with no success).
Deals that used to close in 2-3 weeks now close in 2-3 months.
Firms with questionable business models or copy pasta of the latest trend are getting zero primary or follow-on funding (Good news!).
There are now realistically <20 firms writing checks in pre-seed/seed.
VCs basically have the pick of any deal they want, with more time to do DD.
IMHO 25/26 are going to be historic vintages for those who stick around.
