ଯାହା କୁହ ଆମେ ଭାରି ଭାଗ୍ୟବାନ ଲୋକ ...so many architectural marvels in and around us in #Odisha
The root cause of #GanjamFlooding is the exploitation of the Rushikulya and Bahuda rivers.
The Rushikulya and Bahuda are not merely rivers. They are Ganjam’s lifelines, our heritage, and the home of our precious blackbucks. 🦌
Yet, for the past few years, rampant illegal sand mining has allegedly continued in these riverbeds, with accusations of today’s Aska MLA Saroj Padhi being leading the Sand Mafia.
Sand is the backbone of a river. Excessive sand extraction can contribute to riverbank erosion, damage the river ecosystem, and leave villages and agricultural land increasingly vulnerable to flooding.
If you are truly disturbed and concerned by the flooding in Ganjam, don’t just blame nature. Ask the right questions. Question those responsible for illegal sand mining and the unchecked exploitation of our rivers. Ganjam deserves answers.

Sometimes, the most beautiful experiences are unplanned. Yesterday, it was raining heavily … heard places and stretches flooded ... and we simply decided to head to Puri like there was a call.
The cyclone and rain meant no queue at Shree Mandira. We walked through Singha Dwara like VVIPs! The strong gush of water flowing down Baisi Pahacha was an experience words simply cannot explain.
Then, straight to Darshan. No running, no queuing, no crowding, no pushing, no stamping on eachother feet..,Just standing there and watching Him. It was probably the longest Darshan I can remember. Just imagine, we had a full view of the night aarti of all three deities, from start to finish. 🙏
Some experiences are not planned. They are His blessings. 🙏
Jai Jagannath! ❤️

Flood tourism will continue for a few more days. 👍🙏

UPDATE: NH-16 stretch near Patrapur–Ichapur is now open.
Traffic between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh has resumed, and people can travel now.
However, weather conditions have not completely cleared, so please travel at your own discretion and exercise caution.
Stay safe 🙏
This breaks my heart. 💔 The community in Ganjam has spent decades protecting blackbucks and helping their population recover. Seeing them drowning and struggling in the current floods is devastating.

No coordination with CM and State minister.
Devastating flash floods following Cyclone ‘Arnab’ have submerged Berhampur Parliamentary Constituency (Ganjam & Gajapati) & South Odisha. With 546mm rain in Patrapur & 503mm in Sorada, rivers Rushikulya & Bahuda breached banks, affecting over 1.5L people—the worst deluge in 60 years.
Submitted comprehensive representations to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji, HM @AmitShah ji & CM @MohanMOdisha ji and requested to:
▪️ Depute Central Assessment Team (IMCT) immediately
▪️ Form State Inter-Ministerial Committee
▪️ Mandate 72-hr crop & horticulture loss survey for PMFBY & direct relief
Urged for:
▪️ Liberal financial package for damaged roads (NH-326), bridges & farmers
▪️ High-level scientific task force via @MoJSDoWRRDGR & @cdri_world for permanent stone embankments & flood-control barrages on Rushikulya basin

#WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha: On Cyclone Arnab, Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari says, "The Ganjam never saw such huge rainfall ever in the past. The rainfall in last three days is almost 20% over the average rainfall in the district of Ganjam. But fortunately, during last 24 hours, Ganjam has recorded only 63 mm of Gajapati has recorded 25 mm of rain and Kandhamal has recorded only 22 mm of rain. Having said that, as against the average rainfall of 111 mm during previous years, this time the rainfall, cumulative rainfall in the state from 1st of October to 30th of October is 132.1 mm , as I have told you, against the average of 111 mm. That means there was enhancement of 18.7% surplus rainfall in the state of Odisha. If you go to Ganjam alone, Ganjam has recorded 118% surplus rain during just 3 days. Gajapati has recorded 103% excess rainfall during last 3 days. Kandhamal has also equally recorded 121%. With such huge rainfall. Naturally, there will be devastation and there has been devastation. The relief and rescue operation is on, the ODRAF, NDRF, and fire services department are already on the job. The coastline helicopter was also used and officials were used to rescue persons who were in a very vulnerable situation... the officials also were on the job during the entire night yesterday... I have given direction to the RDC and the collector to ensure that all the families (in relief camps) to get cooked food... The Navy will also start air dropping food materials... Today they have already moved to Ganjam to position themselves in the airfield of the military training centre at Gopalpur. So everybody is on the job..."
Is this real or AI? CM sir seems first interested in figuring out where to have lunch .. then assessing the flood situation part.
Pett puja first, everything else duja! 😬
Interesting. We’ve moved from ‘only 14 GW’ sarcasm to “147 W/person means low economic activity.” But peak grid demand isn't the whole electricity economy.
For context Odisha recorded about 66.9 TWh of non-utility industrial consumption in 2024, roughly twice a richer Gujarat’s 33.1 TWh, besides significant captive industrial power arrangements by all the large industrial establishments. Different industrial structures and captive/non-utility arrangements produce different grid-demand profiles, so using peak MW/person as a proxy for economic activity is a stupid inference.
11 PM at Singha Dwara.
Rain pouring, streets flooded, yet all is bliss. When He calls, we come for Darshan. 🙏
Jay Jagannath!

Perhaps the only issue is the name. Had it been Anshumam Mishra, Raghu Patnaik, or a Mohanty, Ollywood might have quietly found a rather convenient readymade script for Daman 2.
Sometimes, even a good story needs the “right” surname. 😉
Odisha celebrated a film called 'Daman' 4 years ago.
Daman revived Ollywood industry from its deathbed.
The film was about a Hero doctor who helped the tribals by curing them of their diseases and saving their lives, after being moved by their suffering.
Today it's the same story of another doctor - the tribals celebrate him and speak about his selfless service.
This doctor could have chosen to live a comfortable life in a Tier 1 city, still he chose service.
But this time two things are different - he sides with Odisha tribals who are against Bauxite mining in their area, participating in their protests ; and his religion.
And unfortunately today those are the things that make a difference.

AFTER ANDHRA, NOW BENGAL?
**Industries there. Jobs there.
Raw materials from ODISHA?**
With changes to the #MMDR framework, serious questions remain about Odisha’s control over its mineral resources and the growing role of the Centre in crucial decisions.
Can Odisha Govt clear the air on MMDR Amendment ?

Vedanta Group chairperson Anil Agarwal, who met Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), said he was exploring investment opportunities worth around ₹70,000 crore in West Bengal, especially in sectors such as power generation and an alluminium smelter plant.

Interesting logic. Congress scores ZERO in today’s MLC elections conducted using ballot papers, and that is presented as evidence against its allegations, with PM Modi himself mocking them.
BJP loses Varanasi, Ayodhya, or a Sangh bastion Nagpur, and suddenly that too is presented as evidence against the ‘vote chori’ allegations. Heads I win, tails you lose. You cannot play both sides.😊
Replying to @dashman207
The learned leaders who claim that India's elections are fixed/stolen would answer this better. If BJP fails win seats like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, then it's a benovalent manipulator.
Only in Bihar 😂
Sarkar bhi apni. “Arajakata Hatao” march bhi apna.

Odisha is so rich in minerals, yet why do we still lack industries to process our own resources? 😐
It feels like the British era exploitation is happening all over again. Our minerals should benefit our state and our people first.
Stop looting Odisha!!

Thank you @narendramodi @narendramodi_in @MohanMOdisha @BJP4India @BJP4Odisha @RSSorg @nitin_gadkari @NitinNabin @myogiadityanath For betraying the double-engine government and bowing down completely to the Andhra Chief Minister.
Dear @AmitShah and @AmitShahOffice, we will remember this forever.
First, the AMNS steel plant will set up its factory elsewhere, but poor Odisha citizens will suffer the raw material extraction and pollution; the same applies to JSW.
A 1.5-engine government is able to bend and control a double-engine government.
