Most of you know this story, but none of you have heard it from me.
Back in September 2018, Femi Hamzat wanted to be Governor of Lagos State. He had thirteen years of public service under Asiwaju and BRF, with the record and backing to win. Then party leaders asked him to step aside for me.
It takes a rare man to put down what he wants without nursing a grudge. Femi shook my hand and five weeks later, agreed to run beside me. I have never forgotten that.
Anyone can read a CV but only the person in the room with a man when the cameras leave can tell you who he really is. For 2,711 days, I have been in that room with him.
When COVID-19 hit, when we faced our hardest weeks, when the Blue and Red Lines ran and when the Lekki Deep Sea Port opened, Femi was there. Long before any ribbon was cut, he was asking the tough questions an engineer asks.
In many states, deputies are kept in reserve. On day one, Femi promised to be the best deputy governor in Lagos history. He kept his word. In seven years, there has not been a single day I wondered whose side he was on. We have had one government, one direction, and one voice.
Lagos runs on a relay system. The baton is never passed to a runner standing still. You run at full speed inside the exchange zone, together, before the pass. That is how Lagos has been governed for 27 years, from Asiwaju to BRF, to Ambode, to me.
Femi is a deputy governor like no other. He built the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge under Fashola, digitized government under Asiwaju and holds a doctorate in engineering. His father served Lateef Jakande. This is in his blood.
Critics say Lagos keeps choosing from the same pool. I say Lagos trains its people. With major projects underway and a master plan stretching to 2052, this is not the time to experiment. What Femi presents today is not a campaign promise cooked up on a bus, it is the next leg of a race we have been running since 1999.
Lagos does not hand the baton to a man standing still. Today, you have seen the man who is already running. Let us move forward together with The Lagos PROMISE.

EKITI POLICE COMMAND CONFIRMS DISCHARGE OF SOWORE AND OTHER VICTIMS FOLLOWING RESTAURANT INCIDENT; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
In furtherance of the incident involving an alleged attack on Mr. Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and the ongoing investigation into the matter, the Ekiti State Police Command wishes to inform the public that Mr. Sowore, alongside other persons affected by the incident, have been treated and discharged from the Police Cottage Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, October 30, 2026, at a Restaurant around Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti, involved a fracas between Mr. Sowore and some yet to be identified individuals. Following the incident, the Police were immediately alerted, and operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene, rescued those affected and ensured they received prompt medical attention.
The Command further confirms that Mr. Sowore was discharged at about 4:30 p.m. and has since departed for Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, where he was initially lodged.
Meanwhile, efforts by the Police to obtain his formal statement and personal account of the incident proved unsuccessful, as he declined on several occasions to make a statement to assist the ongoing investigation.
The Command also wishes to clarify that Mr. Sowore did not formally notify the Police Command of his arrival in Ekiti State or communicate his movement within the State. Such notification would have enabled the Police to make adequate security arrangements and provide the necessary protection during his stay.
However, the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation into the incident, with a view to establishing the circumstances surrounding it, identifying all persons involved and ensuring that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.
The Command wishes to reassure members of the public that the security situation in Ado-Ekiti and its environs remains calm. Meanwhile, intensified patrols, surveillance and intelligence-led operations across identified black spots are ongoing to sustain public safety.
The Command urges members of the public to disregard sensational and unverified reports circulating on social media and rely on credible information from official sources.
The Ekiti State Police Command remains committed to the protection of lives and property and reiterates its readiness to provide adequate security for all residents, visitors and political stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations or status.

You will cry Taya seh 😩😩😩
The political thugs allegedly sent after us by the Ekiti State Government, with the assistance of DSS operatives, did not stop at brutally attacking and injuring members of our team. They also stole their phones, wristwatches, and shoes during the attack. Through technology, we have now tracked and located some of the stolen items but the police hasn’t done anything to recover them.
Oga stop crying 😂😂
Where is Imran U. Wakili?
By his own account, police officers stormed the home of @IU_Wakilii on Thursday, towed his car, seized his younger brother in his place, and ordered him to report to the station. He said he was on his way. Since then, his family has heard nothing. This is what Bola Tinubu's APC government has made of Nigeria: a country where a young man's opinions can cost him his liberty, and where the police take a brother hostage to bring a critic in.
Let me be clear. If Imran is in police custody, the Nigeria Police must say so today, tell his family where he is being held, state the charge against him, and give him access to his lawyer. Holding a citizen in silence is not policing; it is intimidation, and Nigerians see it for exactly what it is. Bola may silence one voice, but he cannot silence a nation that is already hungry, angry, and watching.
As President, I will restore the rule of law, protect every Nigerian's right to speak freely, and ensure that no citizen ever disappears for holding the government to account. Criticism is not a crime.
Free Imran now. -AA

Our economic reforms are aimed at building a stronger, more productive and prosperous Nigeria, where businesses can invest, grow and create opportunities for our people.
I welcome Airtel Nigeria’s Open Network initiative and its continued investment in expanding telecommunications infrastructure, including over 1,050 new network sites, 657 of them 5G sites. @AirtelNigeria
This is the kind of investment we are working to attract. Better connectivity means more opportunities for businesses, greater access to education and more Nigerians participating in our growing digital economy.
On our part, we are strengthening regulatory oversight, protecting consumers and expanding digital access, including free daily data for eligible students to access educational resources.
We will continue to create the conditions for investment and growth. I expect operators to match these opportunities with better coverage, fewer disruptions and improved services, particularly in underserved communities.
Our prosperity drive must reach every part of Nigeria.

My interview today with Seun Okinbaloye on @channelstv #PoliticsToday had some intense moments. At one point, I had to call Seun out for being insensitive when he asked whether I was a threat to the government.

I know how much hard work it takes to keep a small business running in Nigeria. From raising capital to paying workers and buying equipment, our entrepreneurs face challenges that government must continue to address.
Today, Vice President Kashim Shettima received, on my behalf, representatives of MSMEs from across the country, along with the Minister of State for Industry and the heads of SMEDAN, NEXIM, NEPC, and ITF.
We have approved ₦200 billion in grants and financing support for small businesses and manufacturers. I want to see more of our entrepreneurs access the capital they need to grow.
I am also pleased that the Office of the Vice President, working through the Special Adviser on Job Creation and MSMEs, is expanding its engagement with business owners. The Vice President-led quarterly meetings must give entrepreneurs a real say in our decisions and ensure that commitments are followed through.
I thank the MSME representatives for their visit and their confidence in our administration.
We have more work to do, and I intend to see it done.

Federal Government to begin ₦50,000 monthly cash relief for vulnerable households
The Federal Government will begin a monthly cash transfer programme that will pay ₦50,000 to selected vulnerable households. The payment is intended to ease the pressure of rising living costs.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, said the scheme, called the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI), is a presidential initiative aimed at providing short-term financial support to millions of vulnerable Nigerians.
The government linked the programme to ongoing food inflation and said it forms part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the ministry, beneficiaries will receive a text message from the payment providers asking for their consent before money is sent directly to their bank accounts or mobile wallets.
The minister also cautioned that the programme does not require applications, fees, or registration through agents. He advised people not to share their PINs or BVNs with anyone, warning against possible fraud.
The ministry said it intends to run the intervention with transparency and accountability.

You go explain Taya, Ekiti no be Lagos.
The Director-General of the @OfficialDSSNG Tosin Ajayi, has been contacting media houses in Nigeria and deployed the @OfficialDSSNG officers in their social media dept , pressuring them either not to report the brutal attack on us in Ado-Ekiti or to distort their reports to downplay the severity of the assault.
Let it be known that operatives of the @OfficialDSSNG at the state and some attached to the Ekiti State Government House accompanied the attackers to the scene of the brutal assault on us in Ado-Ekiti, having earlier provided them with our exact location.
