I watched an interview on #PoliticsToday* on @channelstv, anchored by @seunokin, in which the @OfficialAPCNg National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru (@DrSRJ), called me a “skit maker” and “comedian.”
I am presenting here a photograph I took with Ajibola in 1998, when I led the Congress of Progressive Youths (COPY), and we were both in the trenches fighting against military dictatorship.
What eventually happened to COPY offered an early indication of what Ajibola has become today, but that is a story for another day.
His premise is that because Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT was declared "winner" by @inecnigeria in the deeply flawed 2023 presidential election, those of us who contested against him should somehow be ashamed of losing.
Ajibola @DrSRJ came to the University of Lagos after he was expelled from the University of Ilorin in 1992 for student activism.
I received him alongside Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as “K-Rad,” who is now a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). We provided them with an enabling environment to apply to re-enter the university, gain admission, and study Law at the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria. Both eventually graduated with flying colours and went on to accomplish great things.
The struggle for justice, democracy, freedom and the preservation of human dignity is neither skit-making nor comedy.
Ajibola knows this because he was once part of that struggle and benefited from the solidarity of those who refused to surrender to military tyranny.
It is unfortunate that he has become so carried away by the fleeting privileges of his current political position that he now ridicules the very struggle that helped shape his own future.
But Ajibola should know better. Political appointments are temporary. Tinubu's regime will come and go, just like the military regimes we confronted in our youth.
The principles we fought for in 1994 remain as relevant today as they were then.
Our commitment to justice has endured for decades and will outlast his present political appointment.
The struggle for freedom is not comedy. What is truly comical is watching yesterday's beneficiaries of resistance become today's defenders of the very oppression they once fought against. #RevolutionNow

BREAKING: @aacparty Writes Tinubu, Demands Presidential Villa for Campaign Council Inauguration, Feeding and Logistics for 5,000 Supporters
The African Action Congress (AAC) has formally written to President Bola Tinubu, requesting permission to inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council for its Presidential candidate @sowore at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, on November 11, 2026.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the party also demanded food, drinks, and logistical support for 5,000 participants from Nigeria and abroad.
The AAC said its request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment, citing similar arrangements reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party insisted that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination and challenged the Tinubu administration to demonstrate its commitment to fairness and equal access. #AACOurParty #Sowore2027
THE EBOLA DISEASE: WHY NIGERIANS MUST NOT PANIC BUT MUST ASK POLITICAL QUESTIONS
Nigerians have been raising serious concerns since Nigerian authorities announced that a woman who arrived in the country had been diagnosed with the Ebola virus. Some have even questioned whether the Tinubu @officialABAT regime might exploit the Ebola outbreak to demobilize voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
These are questions Nigerians have every right to ask. I cannot put anything beyond Tinubu and his political agenda. I firmly believe he knows he cannot win a genuinely free and fair electoral contest, and that is precisely why Nigerians must remain vigilant against any attempt to exploit a public health emergency to suppress democratic participation or manipulate the 2027 elections.
Public health emergencies must never become excuses for suppressing democratic participation or restricting fundamental freedoms.
Uganda has reportedly issued an official statement clarifying that the woman diagnosed with Ebola in Nigeria merely transited through Uganda after visiting the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ugandan authorities maintain that they have no confirmed active Ebola cases and have reportedly complained about delays in receiving information from Nigeria concerning the woman’s travel and medical history.
If these accounts are accurate, why has Nigeria not promptly provided the necessary information? What has happened to our disease surveillance systems, emergency preparedness, and international public health coordination mechanisms?
Beyond that, serious questions have been raised about the reported appointment of Femi Gbajabiamila, a politician who is not a medical doctor, to chair Nigeria’s Presidential Task Force on Ebola Preparedness. Why should the political leadership of such a critical public health response take precedence over the expertise of qualified epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, and public health professionals?
Nigerians must not panic, but neither should they surrender their right to question those in power. Ebola is a serious disease that requires a coordinated, transparent, science-driven response. It must never be politicized, weaponized, or exploited to undermine civil liberties and democratic participation.
We must demand full disclosure of the facts, effective contact tracing, proper medical intervention, protection for frontline health workers, and independent scientific oversight.
Nigerians deserve transparency, scientific competence, and accountability, not political bureaucracy or secrecy in the face of a potentially deadly epidemic.
Public health must protect lives, not become an instrument of political control.

Irresponsible @PoliceNG Launch Unprovoked Attack On #EndSARS Memorial Participants At Lek... youtu.be/8y2CKili0YQ?si=f27B… via @YouTube
I strongly condemn the @police tear-gassing of peaceful protesters at the #EndSARSMemorial, particularly @ADC guber candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour @GRVLagos and Funsho Doherty @funsodoherty of the NDC Party.
Six years after the #LekkiMassacre, the Nigerian authorities are still responding to demands for justice with tear gas and repression!
The continued suppression of peaceful #EndSARS commemorations tells Nigerians about the despicable roles and responsibilities of Bola Tinubu @officialABAT, Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu, and the security establishment, including the @HQNigerianArmy and @PoliceNG, in the events of October 20, 2020.
This act in itself will not delay their day of judgment.
#REVOLUTIONNOW #EndSARSMemorial
THE #EndSARS AT SIX: SIX YEARS OF BLOOD, LIES AND IMPUNITY! #SOWORE2027 GOVERNMENT WILL FISH OUT THE KILLERS BEHIND THE LEKKI TOLL GATE MASSACRE!
On October 4, 2020, I declared: “We are going to have a massive nationwide action for #EndSARS who is on board?”
Nigerian youths rose against @PoliceNG brutality, torture, extortion, and extrajudicial killings. On October 20, 2020, the Nigerian state, through its military, @HQNigerianArmy, responded to peaceful protesters with bullets in what became known as the #lekkitollgatemassacre !
Six years later, WHERE ARE THE KILLERS? WHO ORDERED THE SHOOTINGS AT #LekkiTollGate? WHO HAS BEEN PROSECUTED? WHY ARE THE VICTIMS STILL WAITING FOR JUSTICE?
Why are we not back on the streets demanding the arrest and prosecution of Lagos Governor @jidesanwoolu, the colonels, generals, the police and military commanders involved in the Lekki operation?
Why are we not demanding a full investigation into the role played by @officialABAT and members of his family who reportedly removed the camera from Lekki Toll gate to prepare the venue for the massacre? Why have those responsible for the actions of the security forces under @MBuhari's regime not been brought to justice?
WHY IS EVERYWHERE EERILY QUIET WHEN THE BLOOD SHED AT LEKKI TOLL GATE STILL CRIES OUT FOR JUSTICE?
The politicians who presided over that bloody repression may want Nigerians to forget. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
#EndSARS was never merely about disbanding #SARS. It was a revolt against a system that brutalizes the poor, shields the powerful, and treats Nigerian lives as disposable.
NO JUSTICE! NO CLOSURE! NO FORGIVENESS FOR IMPUNITY!
We remember the fallen. We stand with the survivors.
Under a #Sowore2027 administration, we will reopen the investigations into the Lekki Toll Gate killings, uncover the full chain of command, identify those who ordered, authorized, and carried out unlawful killings, and ensure that everyone found culpable faces justice, regardless of rank, political connections, or position. #EndSARSMemorial
This is plainly wrong! Extending the tenure of deadweights in the system destroys workers’ morale, stifles career progression, blocks opportunities for deserving officers, and undermines professionalism in the civil service.
Tinubu @officialABAT's handling of these appointments shows he's lost his grip on governance, and he's merely rubber-stamping decisions made by entrenched interests around him.
Nigeria cannot continue recycling the same ineffective officials while qualified civil servants are denied opportunities to advance.

We took our presidential campaign to the Federal High Court in Abuja!
Our appearance at the Federal High Court for the ongoing “Tinubu Is a Criminal” trial also became an opportunity to engage with supporters and members of the public about our #Sowore2027 presidential campaign.
While our legal team confronted the bogus charges inside the courtroom, supporters gathered outside to express solidarity and participate in campaign activities.
The courtroom was the venue for the legal proceedings; the surrounding public space provided an opportunity for political engagement.
Two distinct activities, one location: defending our rights in court and engaging Nigerians about their political future.
WATCH how it all unfolded!

LIVE: Leaving the Federal High Court in Abuja in high spirits after today’s “Tinubu Is a Criminal” trial.
Our counsel, Olumide-Fusika, SAN, thoroughly skewered the DSS witness during cross-examination, while the massive turnout of our people demonstrated what it means to stand firm in the face of oppression.

The final outing today following the conclusion of the second session, which featured the cross-examination of the DSS witness, in the “Tinubu Is a Criminal” trial in Abuja. #Sowore2027
Today at the Federal High Court, as promised, we continued our campaign and public education efforts, engaging senior lawyers and other litigants.
While awaiting the arrival of the presiding judge, we had an interesting and intellectually stimulating exchange with a senior lawyer who raised some serious and thought-provoking questions. Each question was addressed with intellectual fervour, clarity, and a commitment to constructive engagement. #Sowore2027
During a short break in today’s trial, we addressed the media on the state of the nation, the ongoing political developments, and the urgent issues confronting Nigerians.
The trial resumes immediately after the press conference.
The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (@wto), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala @NOIweala, has repeatedly claimed that her mother was kidnapped because she uncovered an alleged $2.4 billion oil subsidy fraud while serving as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance.
But serious questions remain unanswered. During her two terms at the center of Nigeria’s economic management (where she failed spectacularly), who exactly did she discover was responsible for this multibillion-dollar subsidy fraud?
Which companies and individuals were implicated? Where are the audit findings, investigation reports and records of prosecution?
Okonjo-Iweala went on to publish a book, Fighting Corruption Is Dangerous, in which she portrayed the kidnapping as retaliation for her anti-corruption efforts.
She also used the book to attack critics, including those of us who publicly challenged her failed economic policies and questioned her record.
But her book about corruption fighting back provided no evidence of who committed the alleged fraud and what happened to the money.
There is documented @PoliceNG evidence of the involvement of palace guards in her father's palace, relatives, and domestic workers in her mother's abduction.
To date, those allegations are the subject of police investigations, prosecution records, and judicial findings. (Before anyone asks why I would rely on the account of the same Nigeria Police Force I frequently criticize, to my knowledge, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has neither publicly challenged the police's official account of her mother's kidnapping nor demanded a fresh, independent investigation to establish a different account of what happened.)
They cannot simply be accepted or dismissed without evidence, and @flacqua of @BloombergTV ought to have done due diligence before swallowing @NOIweala fairytale hook, line, and sinker.
The central question remains, who stole the alleged $2.4 billion? Where are the audit findings? Who were the implicated companies and individuals? What became of the investigations? And, most importantly, what verifiable evidence establishes a direct connection between the alleged oil subsidy fraud and her mother's kidnapping?
At the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria I contested for the position of Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, using these quotations framed for me by my campaign manager, the legendary Baba Aye!
In 1992, when I joined other courageous students in the “Babangida Must Go” protests against military dictatorship, I was expelled from the university and banned from further participation in student union activities.
But we refused to surrender. Upon resumption, we fought back, challenged the injustice, and reclaimed our right to participate in student politics. Against the odds, I was eventually elected President of the 27,000-strong University of Lagos Students’ Union Government.
That single opportunity changed the course of my life forever. It shaped my political consciousness, strengthened my conviction that injustice must always be resisted, and set me on a lifelong path of activism and struggle for a better Nigeria.
That one opportunity changed my life forever. It also changed my country forever.
The struggle continues! #Sowore2027
