Introducing GPT‑6 Cyber: a major advance in security research that pairs stronger capabilities with better model alignment. The model powered the Linux kernel research we announced yesterday, and security teams at companies like Mozilla, Palo Alto Networks, Calif, and Cisco—alongside our own at OpenAI—are already putting it to work. GPT-6 Cyber is available to select Daybreak Red customers and we are expanding access over time. openai.com/index/introducing…

teardown Ask Claude Code how a machine works and get a 3D simulator you can take apart teardown is a Claude Code skill. You ask in plain words, like "build me a simulator of a four stroke motorcycle engine I can take apart", and Claude builds it as one offline HTML page. The machine runs in the middle of the page. Panels around it read the real numbers, a button opens the part doing the work, and when nobody touches it the page tours itself. It can also record the tour as a 60 fps mp4, with procedural sound mastered to 14 LUFS. Three complete machines are included as examples. You need Node.js 20 or newer, plus ffmpeg for video and Python 3 for sound. MIT license. github.com/elvarofficial/tea…

New Hy-4 vs Deepseek, not bad when using the Deepseek harness, however 1 shots so far is no bueno. Very interesting model, will be posting a few more comparisons.

Testing it right now with a capture from my app, Atlas Scanner (RoomPlan + LiDAR + video).
Will share the result 💪 teapaw.org/paz_al3x/status/209900…

One image in. A full 3D object out. 0.9 seconds. No photogrammetry rig. No multi-view capture. I fed a model a single PNG and it handed back 262,144 Gaussians before the progress bar finished drawing. It's Idol Turbo, and I got it running end-to-end on a Colab G4. Every number below is measured, not quoted from a README. What it is: @dextune distilled the 5-step version of speridlabs/idol (one image → 3D Gaussian splat). Two rank-32 LoRA experts, one for the high-noise phase and one for the low-noise phase, switching at t=0.5. That collapses ~100 network passes into 5. Apache-2.0. Measured on a G4 (RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, 96 GB): 4 steps → 0.80 s 5 steps → 0.92 s 8 steps → 1.26 s 50 steps, CFG 3 (the un-distilled teacher) → 14.3 s 262,144 Gaussians → 17.8 MB .ply peak VRAM under 8 GB At 5 steps the time splits as: preprocess 0.14 s, DINOv3 encode 0.09 s, sampling 0.88 s, decode 0.10 s. So the second is almost entirely sampling, and it's 15.5× faster than the teacher while staying close on shape and color. The wall nobody mentions: the official SDK path refuses to load without a Hugging Face token that has accepted terms on two gated repos (facebook/dinov3-vith16plus and black-forest-labs/FLUX.2-dev). Anonymous downloads 401. So I rebuilt both encoders from ungated mirrors. DINOv3 from Comfy-Org's clip_vision tensors plus ONNX configs: 840.6 M params, 0 missing keys, 0 unexpected. FLUX.2 VAE from the Comfy single-file checkpoint with a hand-written remap to diffusers naming: 251/251 tensors, and a round-trip encode→decode MAE of 0.0105. No token, no gate, same weights. What it's good at: glossy vinyl characters with clean silhouettes and flat color. A baby dragon and an axolotl hold up from 360°. A chunky sneaker keeps its suede overlays, lace loops and lug pattern. Where it breaks: sharp metal edges and tiny high-frequency details. A rangefinder camera kept its dials but softened every edge. And it takes exactly one image — feed it a four-view sheet and it treats the whole sheet as one object. Crop to a single front or 3/4 view. Back views are invented, so they're the softest part of any turntable. A side-view input performs worse than front, because half the character isn't there and the model has to guess. The notebook has every step, the encoder rebuild and the VAE conversion included, and runs clean on a fresh G4. drive.google.com/file/d/1IgN… The real shift isn't 0.9 seconds. It's that generating a 3D asset now costs about the same as generating a sentence. I keep wondering what people build once a model is a throwaway.
Idol Turbo The Idol image to 3D model now finishes in about 0.75 seconds on an H200 This is a faster version of Idol, the single image to 3D Gaussian model I shared earlier. It still takes one object photo and outputs up to a million 3D Gaussians. Idol needs 50 steps with guidance, which means 100 network passes. Idol Turbo does it in 5 steps without guidance, so 20 times fewer passes. Two small LoRA experts split the work between the noisy early steps and the cleaner late steps. The base model weights stay untouched, and the training set was 93 single object images. It works in ComfyUI with the Idol workflows. Some results come out softer than the 50 step original, and colors can run warm at 4 steps. Apache 2.0 license. You need access to two gated encoders, DINOv3 and FLUX.2-dev. huggingface.co/akhaliq/idol-…

Qwen3.5-4B-GLB-3D-Coder Renderable 3D assets from a 4B model. Following its earlier 3D Coder project, CCORE has released a new Qwen3.5 fine tune focused on generating 3D assets for game development. The model turns text prompts into standalone HTML and JavaScript scenes using Three.js. Each scene includes a GLB export button, allowing generated assets to be imported into Godot. Examples include a mana potion, goblin, desert merchant and detailed environment props. The developer reports most generations work on the first attempt, especially with English prompts. Q4_K_M and Q8_0 GGUF checkpoints are available. Full model weights and the training dataset are planned for release after training finishes. huggingface.co/ccore/Qwen3.5…

Qwen3.5-4B-3D-Coder w/ Three.js A 4B parameter model can generate interactive 3D scenes using Three.js. Qwen3.5-4B-3D-Coder's October 29 update makes the full FP16 weights, training dataset, and technical report publicly available. The dataset contains 4,146 synthetic examples. Training took about 60 hours, combining full fine tuning with a short LoRA stage. 3D scenes are generated as HTML and JavaScript through Chat mode, not agent tool integration. Specific generation settings and a Three.js system prompt are required. Q4_K_M and Q8_0 GGUF versions are also available, with more quantized variants planned. huggingface.co/ccore/Qwen3.5…

If you have spare RAM, increase --conversation-cache for Strata now. With 64GB RAM, I cached 32 conversations. Token use doubled vs. yesterday, but power draw fell 30%—so energy cost per token dropped to 35% of yesterday’s, a 65% saving. That matters for local LLMs.
