The Capital is sure the epitome of Action and Inaction.
Suicides IIT Delhi leading the count. 5 recorded minor rapes in past 2 weeks. The winter is round the corner- AQI levels will join the list.
A little good news people from Delhi.

A great episode with @sumank despite the cussing. Nothing delights more than simplicity and granular details not to mention the accent in English I grew up with. Now I need to go and watch Family Man. Thank you for this @amitvarma share.google/JZHNpK1CeEaIth2…
substack.com/@homebodystorie… @nehaa_sinha this is a fan's work on Substack.
A brilliant conversation when #GloriaSteinem turned 90. Her life encapsulated so well. I can speak for myself- I owe women like her and particularly their fight for women's bodily autonomy very very much.

When the PM ...uses the phrase,“Ekam sat vipra bahudha vadanti”(the truth is one, the learned call it by many names),from the Rig Veda as an e.g.of ‘our’ civilisational culture, who does he include in the‘we’?...all Indians or just a select few? Take the time to read this piece.

My kitchen is smelling delicious! Granola in the making based on @saffrontrail recipe. Unbaked tray waiting it's turn. Generosity smells Good. Thank you Nandita.
Nearly a decade since I have been listening to my Hero @tmkrishna. It was a time when he was being threatened & abused online; members of our Book Club wrote a letter to him expressing solidarity with him. I hand delivered it. The first time I met him after the concert.
What is your primary identity @tmkrishna the Singer, scholar, activist and public intellectual was asked at a Book event organised by @AsiaSocietyIC at the @ExperimenterKol outpost. "I am a singer; everything else comes from that". Thank you for being all that you are TMK.
substack.com/@linesonthegras…. Sport, Colour, Fandom, Memory. How all of this is inter related and why somethings must not be changed. This is an essay which left me wistful in part and fearful too. @devellix writes with clarity and passion. Are we reclaiming/rewriting/erasing history?
A Sunday morning spent in Mysore listening to @tmkrishna singing Mukhari, Kaanada a moving Varali with swaras and sahitya of Kanakanaruchira. One can never get enough of his art. My 2nd concert in 2026. I hope to get atleast 3 more. Fingers crossed.
After a Ragamalika Alapana brilliantly accompanied by H.K. Venkatram a Padam in Nilambari by H. Yoga Narsimha was for me the highlight of the concert. Ended with a Nottuswara which is always uplifting. A Sunday to remember. Thank you @tmkrishna 🙏
youtu.be/TcSwZM6RAvg?si=4xeK… This was the 1st Rabindra Sangeet I heard in my Kannadiga household. My parents named me after a Tagore heroine. And I befriended him marrying into a Bengali household. I wrote of my Tryst with Tagore on Substack. You can read it on the link in the thread.
open.substack.com/pub/drcbje… Tagore features often in my writing cos he calms me down even as he forces me question in this noisy existence.
#Kolkata people do not miss this. Will make you reflect on why we need our symbols and what they mean to each of us even in this imperfect democracy. Not in town and will miss this but so glad to have done it in Pune a month back. Have a good session @tmkrishna.
Will be in conversation with scholar and historian Rudrangshu Mukherjee about my latest book, 'We, The People of India: Decoding a Nation's Symbols' organised by Kolkata Centre for Creativity tomorrow, April 25th at 6 PM at the KCC Amphitheatre, Kolkata. All are welcome. @WestlandBooks @KCCinkolkata
youtu.be/EG34nT4-cYM?si=5zG1… A male feminist ( they exist) talks kitchen like this. @krishashok take a bow!!
open.substack.com/pub/drcbje… My memory of a time when Ramanavami was a gentle festival.
Sandip Roy: The air we breathe cannot be a luxury | Mint share.google/x5lssXOz8tJIoGj… @chernozems A grey afternoon here in Kolkata. AQI is 102 Air quality is poor. I rest content that it is better than some months back.
A book review which is also an excellent essay in itself. The kind that compels you to read the book without the hard sell. Looking forward to reading it @arpitayodapress
youtu.be/zZYRWgVBSrI?si=mPCh… @krishashok this is just brilliant. This is Public Service. Thank you so much. Listening to it while doing my stretches this morning, made me do more.
Am slow to jargon despite being in the Devp sector. Working with ,,#Barangay officials in 2 provinces of #Phillipines the phrase "Repair the trust deficit...."was a key point in manifesto. @ttindia piece speaks of the importance of this in the age of dominance of social media.
