When the insurgent left started breaking onto the national stage, I kept wondering what Obama was thinking, and whether he would sit it out, actively undermine it, or use the permission structure the movement created to embrace it and rehabilitate his legacy. I'm so happy he chose the last option. His entire speech for Abdul was a wonderful summation of what left-populist candidates have spent the last year saying on their own, and getting mercilessly chastised for by the Dem establishment. But now, with it coming from the party’s most respected voice, it feels kinda like watching your bullies get a swirly and I love it.
Former President Obama says the issues U.S. Sen. candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI) advocates for are not radical: "What is radical about that? Wanting everyone to have healthcare? How is that radical?"

YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES FOR THE PROPERTY, YOU'RE PAYING YOUR TOWN FOR THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES. THE ROADS, POLICE, SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, SNOW PLOWS, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND SO MUCH MORE.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

If this was a scene in an Aaron Sorkin show I’d be sitting there rolling my eyes thinking it is too perfect and undernuanced to represent any form of realistic exchange… it’s compelling stuff.
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

You won’t ever see another AOC slander from this account going forward. This is amazing.
#MichiganSenate AOC to The New York Times “I’m not waking up on November 4th wishing I did more to combat the smears aimed at Abdul… I’m leaving everything I can on the field.”

Was just thinking how the media questioned Kamala Harris's qualifications for POTUS even though she'd spent 7 yrs as a District Attorney, 6 yrs as CA AG + 4 yrs as a US Senator b4 becoming VP while no one asks JD Vance whose only time in govt was 2 yrs as a Senator that question

Watters on Peltola: You've heard those words said at FOX. Who cares? It actually makes people like her more. People are sleeping with interns, their insider trading, they're taking bribes and not showing up to work and people are upset that she said a bad word? It's disloyal to drop a dime on your boss when the senate power is hanging in the balance.

I just want to point out… the amount of money the U.S. has spent on war in the last 2.5 months is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never ‘can we afford it’… it’s what we choose to prioritize.

The U.S. House will be in session only 4 full days from July 24th to November 8th. That’s 100 paid days off versus 4 full workings days plus 4 travel (half) days. Meanwhile TRUMP says YOU have too many holidays.

Could you effing not.
You're looking live at El Niño going "full-tilt" to start meteorological fall. Once in a lifetime event. Three monster hurricanes in E. Pacific w/Hawaii splitting the uprights. Moisture from Hurricane Marie is going to inundate U.S. desert Southwest with major monsoon!

Every other Democratic politician either fires off a quick generic statement or makes a stupid, corny joke about the happenings of the day and moves on. @KamalaHarris does it differently — she sits down, makes an accessible, informative video, and mobilizes people. 👀
This week’s Supreme Court decision is another reminder of what we are up against heading into November. They can put more obstacles in our way, but they cannot take away our power. Our answer is to show up, make our voices heard, and turn out in numbers that are too big to rig.
