@dadgostarnooshi @elisabethtr @DanielHellden

Joe Rogan: I love talking to people who are smarter than me. And I'll never try to play gotcha with them. "I want to know certain things that they can tell me, I want to educate myself." Joe once said that talking to Elon Musk is intimidating, because you realize what a chimp you are. 😂 cc: romanotuijnman

The American College of Pediatricians just put out a đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„ statement calling out all the major medical associations by name for pushing the gender transition craze on kids. They ask for these groups to "IMMEDIATELY stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex." The full @ACPeds statement âŹ‡ïž "Therefore, given the recent research and the revelations of the harmful approach advocated by WPATH and its followers in the United States, we, the undersigned, call upon the medical professional organizations of the United States, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the  Endocrine Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.  Instead, these organizations should recommend comprehensive evaluations and therapies aimed at identifying and addressing underlying psychological co-morbidities and neurodiversity that often predispose to and accompany gender dysphoria. We also encourage the physicians who are members of these professional organizations to contact their leadership and urge them to adhere to the evidence-based research now available.”

Academics at a London university are being made to take a test they can only pass by professing the “correct” opinions. Compelled speech is a hallmark of authoritarianism and must always be resisted. My latest post is now up! Read here: andrewdoyle.org/p/the-tyrann

I had an experience last night that I think perfectly sums up our political moment
I play basketball a couple times a week with a group of about 30 guys. I try really hard not to talk politics there
ball is life and my true escape
but one way or another it always comes up for a few minutes. Last night though, to no surprise, everyone was talking about the election results. Pretty much all the guys I play with are conservatives or Republicans, or just people who love America and end up voting Republican. Basically just normal people. There’s one liberal in the group. He was saying he hates how extreme both parties have become, but that Republicans are even worse, and we need more moderate, centrist options. As we were warming up, I asked him: “Okay, what’s Donald Trump’s most extreme position?” He paused and started talking about Trump’s attitude and tweets. I said, “No, what’s his most extreme *policy*?” He said, “I’d have to get back to you,” and started walking away. I kept poking at him a bit while we played. (Nothing like hardcore political trash talk, right?) And he didn’t have much to say. We set it aside and the friendship will live to see another day. But the point is this: Trump, despite what they say, is actually a moderate. He’s a former Democrat, old-school liberal who governs sensibly, thus conservatively. He would have (and still would) negotiate with Democrats on almost anything. But all the Democrats want to do is destroy (and eventually jail) him. If you think closing the border is extreme, fine. If you don’t like how ICE operates, say that. But picking up people who are here illegally isn’t extreme. You can dislike the methods without calling the basic idea far-right or racist. I’ve seen this over and over: you ask people what Trump has actually done that’s extreme, far-right, or racist, and they usually can’t answer. They just scurry away. The bigger issue now , especially after the results of midterms, is what comes *after* Trump on the right. A lot of people will say, “We tried it with the New York real estate guy who wanted to be liked and was willing to make a deal. It didn’t work. So now we go harder.” Then we could end up with an actual extremist, and even the TDS inflicted liberals will be looking back on the Trump years as the good old days. So if you know a confused liberal, this might be a good time to ask them to look in the mirror before it’s too late. Pro Tip: They probably won’t listen to you, but then just hit a couple threes in their face and it’ll still be time well spent.

You've avoided nearly all of my questions, Norah, because you're literally incapable of answering them. Your mind is firmly closed to any evidence or facts that undermine your preferred narrative. You consider it immoral for anyone to even question you, even though you voluntarily and confidently entered this discussion. You're like a flat-earther. Nothing I or anyone else says to you will permeate your stubborn quasi-religious beliefs, because to change your mind would take away a core part of your self image, which is as somebody who is kinder and better and more righteous than the nasty people still advocating for the safety of women and girls. You repeat your thought-terminating clichés and unevidenced assertions, which I assume sound clever inside your echo chamber, but which, outside it, make you appear not only dim, but a total moral vacuum. Increased risk to females? Who cares. Women threatened by violence? Of course those poor trans-identified men lash out when they meet resistance! What is a gender identity? You can't really say, but like the flat-earther, you're sure it exists, because your tribe is held together by belief in it, and pride themselves on their blind faith in it. I keep waiting for a single gender ideologue or trans activist to truly engage with the facts, but all of you sheer away from them like horses from fireworks. It truly is like talking to cult members who're incapable of engaging in rational debate and just keep chanting the mantras, consigning all serious questions to the 'evil' bin. I've been told I'm on the wrong side of history thousands of times. By debating people like you, I've come to realise that your ilk's idea of the 'right side of history' means stripping women and girls' of their rights, excusing male violence against women, siding with those issuing death and rape threats and attempting to suppress critical thought and freedom of speech. Maybe, like the flat-earthers, you genuinely think history will vindicate you. I believe people will look back on this period and analyse your arguments, not because they admire them, but because they're trying to fathom how so many supposedly intelligent people fell, hook, line and sinker for a bunch of vacuous, post-modern, pseudo-intellectual cobblers, while being completely indifferent to the real world harm they were enabling.
