Apropos of nothing... here are my current favorite logos (other than, of course, whatever logos I'm not remembering at the moment that I like better)...
H/Ms are places like Sand Hills or even Tree Farm... I have a type.
(free gift with - lack of - purchase... my terrible Photoshop (actually Gimp) skills)...
I've now seen 46 seconds of this (thanks for that BST ;) )... and am convinced I've seen 46 seconds too many.
What this does make me do though, is even more fully appreciate the great people I've met here and have played with.
Hat tip to all of you, I haven't played with... *gestures*... whatever this is, yet.
Internet Invitational dumb moment of the day:
Bobby Ray getting triggered by SGK asking if he was wearing basketball shoes, then borderline threatening him, is an all time loser look.
Trying to prove how tough you are while losing and visibly unraveling? Rough.
Never heard of the guy before, but I should’ve known what I was in for when I saw him wearing a cutoff golf polo.
Him immediately following that up by pulling one straight OB? Chef’s kiss.
Dude’s got the mental toughness of a soggy paper towel.
Two weekends ago I was frustrated with my play in the Carolinas.
Last weekend I was frustrated with my play in Washington.
This weekend I'm at home power washing my fences so I can then stain them.
Playing bad golf (at insanely cool venues) suddenly doesn't feel all that frustrating...

The hype around this South Carolina sand hills course has been high. Could it live up to the hype?
The answer is a clear YES.
With so many new projects being built on similar land with similar settings, it is hard to stand out. But the designers did a great job of working with the land to create something that just feels different.
It has all the tenets of modern golf design that are common. Walking only, firm turf, wide fairways, ground game emphasis, bold green slopes. So what makes it feel different?
It always starts with the land. The sandy soil moves up and down, with big natural swales to create lots of ground movement. The 2nd hole is a modern masterpiece, influenced by the famous 6th hole at Eastward Ho!. With a giant slope that would be considered too bold for many, it provides multiple routes and rewards for your drive.
Options are a big part of Broomsedge. This includes two holes that have 2 separate greens that can make the holes play completely different day to day.
The routing also has some interesting quirks. There are back to back par 3’s, only 2 par 5’s, and 3 par 3’s on the front! The designers believe that finding the best holes is more important than finding a “typical” hole routing. Including a run of 6 par 4’s on the back 9.
The turf is wonderful. The greens were fast and firm, but could also receive a spinning shot. The fairways are firm, but not overly fast. This provides added challenge, because you end up with many non-flat lies.
The aesthetic here just works. The broomsedge and natural grasses border every hole really make the golf course just very pleasing to the eye. That said, the gunch is real and you will be punished when you miss the wide fairways. (As you should be.)
The postage stamp 8th hole is an ode to Royal Troon and plays only around 100 yards. It’s devilish and you will see lots of birdies and doubles, anything can happen.
Broomsedge is an excellent addition to the golf scene and should attract visitors from everywhere. Be sure to add it to your Carolina golf trip!

Things they don't put in the land survey: a 100-year-old homestead with the hay still in the stall.
Candyroot keeps surprising me.
🎄🧑🎄Things I want for #Christmas #1 ...🧑🎄🎄
The #NFL to teach the #NBA how to tell time (specifically, relative to kick/tip off)
it's interesting, relative to the stat... if I could take any QB in history to start my franchise with... it would be none of those guys (obviously you'd be happy with any of those guys, not a knock on them... but it seems like there are *at least* three easy choices that require little or no thought above those guys).
Nice start to a round that was pretty good through 7 holes... And then other stuff happened...
As always Wine Valley was a treat!!

Lions Municipal is on cusp of becoming the city of Austin’s after a prolonged concern. Can’t emphasize it enough that this move was only possible because of interested humans greasing the wheels. And some big donations as well. The @TimGavrich munissance is a human-driven thing.

I've played 4 of these... Timberstone, Heritage Hill, MSU, and Highlander.
All solid choices (whether they count as best hidden gem in those states is another matter).
I won't lie, we're probably going to piss off a few locals with this one...
We picked the best hidden-gem golf course in every state.
And yes, that means we're exposing a few that you would have otherwise "gate-kept"
