Ten Random Election Night Thoughts:
1. Democrats in power is good business for conservative media and podcasters. Take that for what it is worth.
2. Half of Americans have an IQ of 100 or less.
3. Why is a midterm loss for the Presidential incumbent’s party so common? Are people really that shortsighted and devoid of animating principles? And I mean this in a non-partisan way. Who votes for Obama in 2008 and then helps the GOP win in 2010? Who votes for Trump in 2024 and then helps the Dems win in 2026? Are Americans really that stupidly fickle?
4. Why can’t every state count its votes in a few hours like Florida?
5. Democrat voters are like locusts. They ravage one state, escape that state to a good and decent state, and then turn their new state into the same hellhole they just left. Don’t believe me? Ask Colorado. Now, Texas, apparently.
6. Thune is happy right now.
7. The silver lining is that the Dems are going to accomplish nothing in the next two years other than to run endless, silly investigations and impeachments, which will make them look impotent and weak headed into 2028.
8. Trump is about to be unleashed. He has no midterms to worry about and he probably could care less about the campaign of the 2028 GOP nominee, JD or otherwise. “Unitary executive” is about to take on a new meaning.
9. If I was whomever is in charge of Iran at the moment, I’d be looking at properties in the Cayman Islands.
10. The legacy media still has more power than most conservatives are willing to acknowledge.

Today, I'm sad. For Texas, for this blue wave. But if Elon taught us anything, it's that losing a round means nothing. Here's why I'm not worried.
Texas sending a Democrat to the Senate for the first time in decades. The Senate and the House flipping. No point lying to ourselves: this is a real defeat.
But a defeat is not the end. They won a battle. We haven't lost the war.
Politics moves in cycles. Midterms almost always punish the party in power. What matters isn't one election night, it's the trajectory over ten, twenty, thirty years.
So look at the situation as it is. No denial, no panic. Understand what didn't work, what needs to change, and move forward.
The only real danger today isn't the result. It's losing your optimism. Discouragement does more damage than any electoral loss ever could.
Look at Elon. Every time the world declared him finished, he came back stronger. Rockets exploded, companies nearly went under, everyone bet against him. I have zero doubt he's the one who wins in the end.
As Corneille wrote: "To conquer without risk is to triumph without glory." If victory were easy, it wouldn't mean anything.
Keep your spirits up. Keep playing. Keep fighting on every front: ideas, culture, tech, the ground game.
Stay focused on victory. It won't come overnight. It will take time to build. But it will last, and it will be beautiful.
We get back up. We keep going.
If you sponsor this podcast, calling for the execution of Elon Musk, I will never use your product… and will buy from both of your top two competitors
This is unacceptable and dangerous.
This a dog whistle to murder someone because you disagree with them — and this is the same guy who joked about the assassination against President Trump.
Fuck this piece of shit.

“I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!”
Derselbe Mann hat seit August nichts anderes getan, als sich selbst auf den Stimmzettel zu setzen, in South Carolina (“I am on the ballot. We’re all on the ballot. Our country’s on the ballot.”) wie in Dallas (“I’m asking you to pretend that I’m on the ballot.”).

"Was journalism always like this?" some appalled onlooker asked me moments ago.
I responded with this, a short but not that short history of deviltry:
"Read Twain from his gold rush days as a territorial reporter in Nevada. journalism started out as scurrilous and deceptive and it never really changed -- until Walter Lippman at the New Republic sent it on an ego trip to Jupiter by anointing journalists a secular priesthood essential to modern progressive Democracy because citizens lacked "omnicomptence" and required benevolent manipulation. This made journalists no more honest but it did ennoble their dishonesty and suggest certain directions that it might take. This model also rendered a vocation that was nearly as disreputable as burlesque dancing or nightclub hosting -- seriously -- into a job fit for college grads, even Ivy Leaguers. From scoundrels like Walter Winchell to exemplars of conscience like Walter Cronkite. From the alleys of Broadway to the sailboats of Martha's Vineyard. And corporate consolidation and other developments made it a field of reliable profitability, not just a playground for tycoons. Pharma money, unlimited pharma money, blew things up even bigger yet, particularly on the TV side but also for publishers of magazines who grew fat on those two-page full disclosure ads for all those hit products, from Halcyon to Vioxx.
And the fight to retain at least a major portion of all that self-conferred prestige and easy booty as it threatens to slip away for various reasons, including sporadic outbreaks of the truth --unsponsored, unfiltered, and highly embarassing to those who purported to be its champions but were all too often its paid molestors -- is the key to much of what's happening right now. Not only in journalism, but in its client classes, political and commercial."
So there you have it.

Nazis machen Nazisachen.

I have an idea to stop the freezer hacks - DON’T CONNECT FREEZERS TO THE INTERNET!
Good God.
JUST IN: Supermarket freezers in Belgium and Sweden were switched into defrost overnight into 2nd November, the same method used on hundreds of French stores in October, per a Belgian refrigeration firm.
France's cyber emergency team warned on 16th October that the campaign was probably still running, and that a factory reset alone would leave old controllers open to a repeat, per its alert.
About 40 Delhaize stores, 15 Carrefour branches and about 5 Spar shops in Belgium saw fridge temperatures spike, per VRT and Colruyt Group. The same firm said it began around midnight local time, 10 AM AEDT, per HLN.
ICA said a small number of its stores were hit, all connected outside its central network, per BBC. One freezer on Öland read 55°C, per SVT. Coop reported 6 stores in Gävleborg.
The Pentagon is treating an August run of commissary freezer failures at 6 or more bases as a suspected hack, per 4 officials cited by Reuters. At Fort Huachuca in Arizona, every freezer went into defrost overnight, per the commissary.
Nobody has claimed the attacks, and no government has named a culprit.
The fix is cheap.. take the controllers off the open internet, patch the firmware and change the passwords.
