@gamwera underscored the need for a regional mechanism or facility like #EACLGA between policy and the local governments supported by Development Partners, to co-ordinate and offer #LLA technical assistance, structured peer learning, project preparation and data systems

A month since Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV departed earthly life to dwell with his King of Kings. I hold His Majesty’s memory in the highest regard. His leadership, devotion to God, love for people and impact on Tooro and beyond will endure. Rest in peace, Amooti. #KingOyoLegacy #PeoplesKing

THE SILENCE BEFORE THE CROWN 👑 Today, Fort Portal hosts the traditional activities leading to the coronation of the new Omukama. The drums will sound, dignitaries will arrive, and history will be written. But one question refuses to disappear: where is the excitement? For a kingdom that flooded streets to mourn King Oyo, the silence surrounding this coronation is impossible to ignore. Love cannot be staged, and legitimacy cannot be measured by the size of a crowd alone. Reports and claims suggest organisers may transport people to attend the ceremonies. If true, buses can fill venues—but they cannot manufacture public acceptance. A contested 21-member Babiito committee may crown a king, but only the people can give him enduring legitimacy. The bigger concern is the precedent. When government appears to stand firmly behind one side of a royal family dispute, reconciliation, custom and due process risk becoming secondary to political influence. That should worry every traditional institution in Uganda. King Oyo earned Tooro’s affection over a lifetime, not through ceremony. No successor will inherit that love automatically. And if the Baby King is truly Oyo’s son and rightful heir, confronting that reality sooner rather than later may be the only path to lasting unity. A crown can be placed in a day. Trust cannot. — Nze Bajjo, Omuyizi wa Makerere

A Legacy to be protected jealously.
Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV elevated the annual #Empango festivities into a signature cultural and tourism event, attracting visitors from across Uganda and around the world. The scale of His Majesty’s imagination was embodied in Tooro Kingdom Vision 2045, an ambitious development and transformation framework launched in 2021, spanning agriculture, education, health, tourism, culture and jobs. Video: Omukama Oyo’s 30th coronation anniversary in 2025 at Karuziika Palace, Fort Portal. #KingOyoLegacy #PeoplesKing

When I underscored the calibre of LC 1 Chairperson we need that @SolomonSerwanjj brings to the Local Government, someone argued that he is leveraging his social networks. I say yes indeed and the better. Let us vote wisely next time @MoLGUganda @UlgaSecretariat @UAAU_Ug
100 CHILDREN BACK IN SCHOOL: UGX 6,116,000 RAISED FOR BAMUTAKUDDE A few weeks ago, we launched a school fees fundraising campaign with a big dream to provide 100 scholarships to children in primary school in @BamutakuddeV. Today, I am overjoyed to share that WE DID IT. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Ugandans, together we raised UGX 6,116,000. With this money, we have paid school fees for 100 children. This was made possible through our crowdfunding partnership with Grooply by ioTec Limited . Thanks to the @ioTec_Limited team for making community fundraising transparent and possible. Oh did I forget to mention that they also donated to us 4 laptops to support operations at the office. To every single person who gave whether big or small thank you. You have kept a child in school. You have given hope to a family. #EducationForAll #BamutakuddeRising #100Scholarships #Grouply #CommunityPower

LEGEND🌹
Although I do NOT like Dr. Jose Chameleon @JChameleone because he once grabbed and painfully squeezed my left-side buttocks in a public space, I appreciate his genius stroke of leading the unification of Uganda’s pop musicians at @MatovuAfrigo Moses Matovu’s vigil. After singing his “Basiima Ogenze” and inserting lyrics that lauded the fallen legend’s saxophone playing, Chameleone asked the instrumentalists to introduce Papa Moi’s favorite song. The band, led by two sax players and a conga drums percussionist played a few bars of “Teri Mukazi Mubi.” And then he sang the first few lines. He invited Uncle P to join him on stage to sing. His little brother @pallasomusic Pallaso took the marching orders and joined him. Catherine Kusaasira @Ckusasira256 also joined and provided back-up to the brothers. Chameleone proceeded to invite @BebeCoolUG Bebe Cool to come serve the mourners. Bebe listened and joined him up on stage. And then @MesachSemakula Mesach Semakula was up on stage with a few younger singers such as Jasmine. Each musician who came on stage was given a microphone to sing. Their voices and harmony were very moving. Excited, Chameleon invited their president, Eddy Kenzo @eddykenzoficial and Eddy Yawe @EddyYawe3 . Both hearkened to his voice and joined him on stage. The stage was filled with crooning Ugandan singers of all shade and creed. I saw Dr Hilderman @HonKiyaga and Ronald Mayinja @mayinja1Ron , singing besides Hajjat Stecia Mayanja @steciamayanja and Sophie Nantongo , men and women, young and old, fat and thin, drunk and sober - all singing together in memory of a legend. They all forgot their many differences and joined together in bold music. This unity was beautiful to behold. I cried because of the beauty of spontaneous harmony and joint conviviality during grief. Although I was watching this moment very far away in exile, I was proud to be a Ugandan when I beheld Uganda’s leading artists coming together to honour a leader of the creative industry. I cried and sang along with them. This unity would not have been possible without the courageous leadership, dare and flare of Dr Jose Chameleone. So, cheer to Kamiliyoooni!

Check out Eim Music's video! #TikTok vt.tiktok.com/ZSbNLmqh9/ Whereas the fight to expose the corrupt comes with good intentions, it must not be seem to destroy long established systems of service delivery that anchor Government, the Local Governments @MoLGUganda @UlgaSecretariat

This an interesting development, but as we run off the numbers piling as the fight against corruption continues, the question then becomes, who is replacing the interdicated and do they possess the same required capacity/experience to run and deliver local services @MoLGUganda
Another one has appeared before anticorruption court ! This brings to over 400 court cases lodged at anticorruption as a result of the fight against corruption in local government.

Uganda can easily be traced as the first to embrace the devolution principle and has tested its benefits over the years teaching the rest. Looking forward to @KagutaMuseveni leading the gospel at the regional level @RebeccaKadagaUG @adoniaayebare @jumuiya @EastGovernments

Until recently when my people in Mukono adapted to the rail transport, I had never put much thought as to how this service has eased travel especially given the traffic jam of Jinja Road. This awareness highlights its importance to our economy. Lets grow bigger @MoWT_Uganda
