shyness needs to be overcome eventually. because it can be a hindrance, it can hold you back when you need to be bold. when you meet people you consider important, you shouldn’t put them on a pedestal. they’re regular folks like you, and many of them are lucky to be where they are. plus, some people are weird. you put them on a pedestal, and they start to see you as inferior and treat you that way. i’m not like that though. today i met 2 guys both in their early 20s who were happy to introduce themselves to me and we talked quite at length. this was while i was leaving Moonshot, so i was waiting for my cab to pick me up. turned out we were all heading in the same direction, so i agreed to drop them off at their destinations. on the trip, i told them stories from my early days at Moniepoint. and gave tons of career advice, even talked about projects i’m currently working on. before they dropped off, I exchanged contacts with one of them with plans to collaborate soon. when you’re unable to break through the shyness, you create mental barriers that prevent you from seizing potential opportunities. and those barriers only exist in your head. honestly it’s not that serious. i am more than happy to meet you next time. don’t overthink it ❤️
