Exactly what we need in the absence of a functioning U.S. Department of Justice. An organization of ex-prosecutors and investigators who help can put cases together for current and future prosecutors who will restore accountability for corrupt federal officials and those who benefit from that corruption.
We are facing a crisis of impunity. That's why we built The Rule of Law Project — to investigate unlawful conduct by federal officials, and work with state and local prosecutors to hold them to account.
Watch former DOJ prosecutor Mark Blumberg and human rights leader Brad Adams launch this critical accountability initiative on MSNOW with Nicolle Wallace.

I prefer presidents who don’t contest the results of elections that haven’t even happened yet.

This whole Bolsonaro thing is crazy because international fugitives used to pick Russia to run from accountability. Now, they pick America. They feel safe here. Disgusting. We need to deport every one of these thugs Trump lets in.

It’s really something, isn’t it? The entire country knows that if Republicans lose, no way will Trump accept the results. No way will he. He’ll again lie, claim the election was “stolen,” and incite violence. Again. And everyone knows it.
He’s the biggest sore loser in all of human history. It’s really something, isn’t it?

Deservedly scathing op-ed by the NYT:
“If Democrats retake both houses of Congress, and more state governments than they now control, it will tell the world that Mr. Trump does not represent most Americans. It will demonstrate that a country that starts to slide toward autocracy can move back to normalcy, as happened in Hungary this spring. Most important, it will create a desperately needed check on Mr. Trump during his final two years in office.
…
In a 21-month span, he has done more harm to democracy and the rule of law than any other president in the modern era and perhaps longer than that. He has broken his oath to defend the Constitution by trying to rewrite it on his own. He has refused to honor Congress’s power of the purse and misused national security laws for political ends. He has defied federal court orders on Medicaid funding, deportation orders and more. He has dismantled the Justice Department’s legacy as an impartial enforcer of federal law, turning it into an instrument of retribution against his adversaries while canceling investigations into his allies. He has appointed inept sycophants to oversee crucial government functions, including law enforcement, national defense and public health. He has sought to disenfranchise large numbers of voters, claiming fraud that cannot be found, and championed an extreme new approach to partisan gerrymandering. He has physically besmirched the White House by demolishing the East Wing and financing a garish renovation with donations from wealthy allies.”

We really moved on too quickly from Donald Trump Jr. marrying Jeffrey Epstein’s personal bankers’ daughter, and a Russian oligarch paid for the whole thing in a blatant bribery scheme.

There are millions of Americans who now believe that if a Republican candidate loses that means the election was rigged. I've talked to these people. Trump has done more damage to the trust in elections and democracy than anybody else in our 250 years and it's not close.

They really should poke at him about it. I bet he’d blab.

Muslims didn’t storm the Capitol on January 6, try to steal an election, or overthrow our government.
White Christian nationalists, racist militia groups, and rabid Trump supporters did.
We need to stop pretending the biggest terrorist threat to this country is coming from somewhere else.

Yesterday Trump said he didn't care that people were hurting with the high cost of gas because he is "making a freaking fortune." Adding "I was told not to say this because people are hurting but I don't give a damn."
Dems should be playing that whole clip on a loop.

We've been here before. We really thought Hillary and Kamala would win. But not enough of us showed up.
Now we're facing what could be the most painful two years in our history.
If the maniacs wins, Trump will take it as a license to loot, pillage, and conquer.
There will be more wars. There will be no limit on gas prices, food prices, deficit, tariffs, federal fraud and our suffering.
But...
It doesn't have to be this way. His kryptonite is your vote.
Use it.

So now Republicans don’t consider a birth certificate proof that you’re American. It tells you what BS the SAVE Act is and what the motivation is.

During the January 6th attack on the nation's Capitol, Daniel Rodriguez drove a stun gun into the neck of Officer Mike Fanone. He was knocked unconscious, had a heart attack and suffered a traumatic brain injury. It ended his career.
Rodriguez got over 12 years in prison for his assault on police. On day one, Donald Trump gave him a "full, complete and unconditional pardon" and sent him home.
This is far and away the most corrupt White House in American history.
