I'm increasingly convinced that the willingness to change your mind is the ultimate sign of intelligence. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. It's like a software update. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.

I hate this cliche:
"In a million years, nothing will matter"
And I love Jordan Peterson's response to it:
"Any idiot can choose a frame of time within which nothing matters. Talking yourself into irrelevance is not a profound critique of Being. It’s a cheap trick of the mind"

Lock in.
If you knew how rare it is to find genuinely good people, you’d put more effort into building something with your partner. Unless they’re toxic or the relationship is unhealthy, there’s every reason to build something together.
The illusion of endless options has some of you walking away from genuine people.

the older i get, the more i realize luck is just exposure.
you have to put yourself out there to win.
travel more. talk to strangers. try a new coffee spot. talk to the cute girl on the street. talk to the old lady on her walk. chat with the buisnessman at the bar. post on social media. start a side hustle. create a new hobby. join a group activity.
if you stay in the same routine, around the same people, doing the same thing, nothing will ever happen
you create opportunity by allowing more tbings into your life. go out and be bold. the world rewards motion.

Stupid people play fair in a game that has always been rigged. Don’t fool yourself with rights and wrongs; there are none. Society made rules to protect itself, and we’ve been trained to obey them. If a butterfly and a bug land on your leaf, you’ll kill the bug, not the butterfly, though both are insects. Rules, norms, and laws were created by the strong to control the weak. Never follow, and never play fair.

HEAT is about two men who are very good at what they do...but they dont really know how to live outside of it....both have their own code..their own discipline...and somewhere along the way...that discipline becomes their biggest weakness...it eats them at some point..they are so committed to the lives they have chosen that they have no space left for anything else...obsessed discipline.

Querido algoritmo,

Cutting people off for how they view you is actually incredibly valid. I have no dealings with people who view everything I say or do through a negative lens. That’s a huge waste of time

Good people have high levels of empathy, but once that empathy is exhausted, they switch to a state of objective observation. They see you for exactly who you are, without the filter of their love. This is why their anger feels so cold, it is the absence of the warmth you took for granted
