The wave is not on its way; it's here and growing.
This room couldn't contain us; neither will the highway.
If you haven't heard from constituents, all you have to do is step out of your car and talk to us. – at Dallas, TX

DART needs improvement, not cuts. Yet city leaders want 25% less funding. Frustrated by late buses? Expect more delays. Wish for cleaner rides? They'll get dirtier. Concerned about safety? Fewer officers

Earlier this month, DART finally made it easier for passengers to see real-time data on apps like Google Maps, an improvement riders have requested for over a year

It's last Friday of month, time for Bike Bus + Critical Mass!😁 We have 3 routes: East + West + Oak Cliff. making it easier than ever to go downtown w/o car. Bike buses roll out 7pm & arrive @ Dallas Farmers Market by 7:40 pm. See details for each route in this thread.
Why are y'all still here lol
FYI I'm kinda reviving presence here for sake of Twitter hold-outs.
Instagram is my main these days. 12,575 followers!! That's more than current & past city councilmembers (not counting mayors). I recommend following me there. I'm also active on Threads.

Interesting... @Amtrak booked 90%-100% of seats on all trains for every day of Thanksgiving week.
With two each way, at least one train is 100% full. Coach is completely sold out on all trains through Wednesday.
Reminder to @NCTCOGtrans of the importance of regional rail.
Not just major cities, reminder to @TxDOT & @USDOT trains also connect rural Texas to airports.
Instead of parents driving 6 hours round-trip between Longview & @DFWAirport, friend took @Amtrak solo to Dallas EBJ Union Station. Pics are from transfer to @dartmedia Orange Line.
"typical Sunset passenger was late 63% of the time ... average of [1.5 hours] late..."
💡Idea: what if airports & airlines helped fund rail infra upgrades to solve train delays as part of commercial interest to reach more customers?

"Jaywalkers are ruining my city!"
"No, your seven-lane one-way is ruining your city."
"Nothing is wrong with my roads! It works out great!"
"If it works so great, why do you say it's ruined?"
"Because sim people are breaking the rules!"
Sounds like a TxDOT engineer.

Dear @CityofDallasD14,
Not biggest deal, I greatly appreciate having bike/scoot coral on my corner.
But plz instruct Bird 🛴 to arrange scooters on appropriate rack (as I demonstrate in photo) & reserve vertical stands for bicycles 🚲.
Should be obvious why.
Thx in advance 👍 – at Main Street District, Dallas

We all know who’s next @CityOfDallas 😉
#Austin passed parking reform! Who's next? WHO?!?!?!?
It's surprisingly walkable in the pentagram.
Every single JIB is 3-7 minutes walk from a bus stop; four of five have stop on same street.
The center is Lowest Greenville, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Dallas.
Visiting all 5 would look interesting on Strava.
Back in Mansfield for another walk talk from @JeffSpeckFAICP! Encouraging to see the community in a small historic railroad town at the outskirts of DFW engaged and eager to make their downtown more walkable.
This visit was Ep2. Excited for next visit when he completes trilogy. – at Mansfield, TX
Hey #Dallas tweeps!
Monday night we will be back in #Mansfield, kicking off our effort to make that downtown #walkable. Hope to see you there.
Details to follow.
@hexel_co
If you were to go on a walkable neighborhood road trip, here's the stops I recommend
1. Bishop Arts
2. Lowest Greenville
3. DT Garland
4. DT Plano
5. DT McKinney
If can only visit 2 for Mansfield sake, go Bishop and DT McK
