The same is true in reverse. No wife deserves love, even the godliest. That’s not why the husband loves.
The command to submit is for lost couples as much as it is for the saved. All marriage symbolizes Christ and the church.
No husband deserves submission, even the godliest. That’s not why you submit.
So the doctrine that says the rapture will happen at an unknown time in the future, could be today, could be 1000 years, is unbiblical because it hasn’t happened?
That makes no sense.
I’m reading @M_Y_Emerson “He Descended to the Dead” and I find it curious that, as he used the connection between Jonah and Jesus, he didn’t make the argument that Jonah actually died, or at least allude to the possibility of it. I think it would have helped the argument.
The hardest question, but often necessary, in an evangelistic conversation is after someone says they want to be saved, asking: Why?
Many people generally like the idea of salvation, but they don’t know why they need it.

Appreciate the team at @DanburyInst providing this excellent resource for the upcoming Midterm Elections. Great help in knowing what to vote for state by state!

This seems like an unethical hack, but if you ever send out an email inviting people to something, like a church event, you're more likely to get a response if you forget to include a detail, like the date and time.

Ideas shape beliefs, beliefs shape behavior, and behavior shapes the culture we leave to the next generation.

The more I preach, the more I find people falling asleep during the sermon annoying. Yes, there are boring preachers. Yes, preachers can do things to help people.
But if the preacher is preaching through a passage, and you follow along in your bible, you won't fall asleep.

There’s a real place for a conversation on how we ought to dress in public, including church, but my goodness, can we for one second keep our eyes on the fact we’re to win people to Christ? And those people are probably messed up.

If you practice church discipline in glee that the church disciplines a person out of the fold, your heart is sick, if not unregenerate.
Rather, we rejoice in honoring Christ even as our hearts break for the sinful choices of a person.
If this is a person you know, who is a member, then maybe a conversation is worthwhile if the reason is just absolute laziness.
But if it’s a lost person and you think this, you’ve lost the plot.
Woman at church yesterday showed up in a sweatshirt and literal pajama pants. Wore her hood the entire service. I was absolutely appalled. I hate this whole, “came as you are” narrative the Protestant church preaches. Other religions wouldn’t let you in if you dressed so disrespectfully. Why is it only Christian’s that are held to this standard? That we must just accept everything?

That’s a great way to put it.
But it’s funnier to say “the punishment for multiple wives is multiple wives.”
My brother, anyone who knows any 20th century history knows this. It’s why conservatives through the 20th century disdained the cultural Christianity it wrought. The social gospel ruined so much of America.
And modern CNs are using the social gospel playbook to a T.
