During the January 6th attack on the nation's Capitol, Daniel Rodriguez drove a stun gun into the neck of Officer Mike Fanone. He was knocked unconscious, had a heart attack and suffered a traumatic brain injury. It ended his career.
Rodriguez got over 12 years in prison for his assault on police. On day one, Donald Trump gave him a "full, complete and unconditional pardon" and sent him home.
This is far and away the most corrupt White House in American history.

So let met get that straight: paying a wealth tax is impossible (âbillionaires have no liquidityâ, âit would be taxing unrealized gainsâ, âtheir wealth is virtualâ) but paying half a billion to influence elections is possible. Did I understand well?
Elon Musk has cemented his record as the largest individual political donor in modern American history.
Musk poured $446 million of his own money into this yearâs midterm elections, mostly aimed at preserving the Republican Partyâs control of Congress. wapo.st/4igb5Kq

Jared Kushner asked for a bribe and received billions to sell U.S. foreign policy. That includes payments from UAE ruler Mohamed bin Zayed, who favored blowing up the JCPOA and funded the genocide in Sudan, and from bone-saw MBS. If he did it here, heâs doing it with Ukraine too.
This is the worst, most catastrophic corruption in American history period. We are in a period of immorality and horror that hasnât been seen since slavery. The price for that was immense. And there will be a price to pay for this, as well. The Iran War is a part of this.
I would bet the house on this corrupt money somehow driving the foreign policy towards Iran that led to where we are today. Americans are dead. Iranian children are dead. Our bases are shattered. Our munitions are spent. Our Patriots are gone. We have increased the risk of a wider conflagration to a maximal degree. And for what?
To make Trump and Kushner money. Families with zero identifiable military service as far as I can tell. Appalling.
âIn late spring 2020, a source I knew to be reliable called me with a story,â writes Matthew Cole. âThe Dutch government had hacked into Jared Kushnerâs phone and monitored him as he accessed a Dubai-based bank account. What was odd, the source said, was that the money in the accountâhundreds of millions of dollarsâhad come from a bank in Azerbaijan. Most importantly, Kushner appeared to have transferred significant amounts of money from the Dubai account to other individuals, including a warlord, a mercenary and a one-time hit man. The story sounded preposterous, I told my source. And yet.
Six months later, I found myself speaking with someone else about the UAE government and their use of mercenaries in conflicts around the Middle East and Africa when I asked, on a whim, whether they knew anything about Kushner and bank transfers from a UAE account. My acquaintance grew quiet. Then they replied, âYes.ââ Kushnerâs lawyer denied the bank account existed.

A woman survives childhood abuse, becomes a doctor, and runs for governor. Republicans somehow decided the villain in that story was the woman.

Just to be clear @elonmuskâs disabling of starlink/starshield helps Putin target civilians rather than Ukrainian forces. By hampering air defences, heâs not just helping Russiaâs military. Heâs helping it commit war crimes
Replying to @revishvilig
Without a doubt, this is a painful measure that, quite literally, deals a blow to the protection of our cities above all, because jet-powered Shaheds threaten Ukrainian cities far more than they do the military. 2/4

We are past the point of political disagreement. We are witnessing a catastrophic collision between unchecked narcissism and obvious neurological decay. It is the most dangerous intersection in American history: a man with the absolute power of the Presidency and the absolute cognitive failure of a person no longer tethered to reality.

It's been a good week for Putin. In recent days, Trump has:
* Struck a diesel deal lifting some sanctions
* Restricted Starshield for Ukraine
* Cut intel warnings of Russian missile launches against Ukraine for several days
* Canceled Lindsey Graham sanctions
* Demanded Ukraine dump Zelensky
* Absolved Russia for helping Iran fight the US
* Pushed Europe to resume buying Russian gas

This is what billionaire ownership of the media means:
Mark Zuckerbergâs Meta shut down the No Kings account for hours during the height of their protests.
Meta suppressed accounts supporting Brazil President Lula da Silva in the recent election.
Larry Ellisonâs TikTok blocked advertising for a documentary criticizing Elon Musk.
Fight back. Defeat oligarchy. Preserve democracy.

Letâs assume this is true. Itâs still a total indictment of Metaâs outsized influence on our culture and politics.
How were they not ready for the biggest day of anti-Trump protest of the campaign? If it wasnât malevolence, it was likely a natural consequence of a company that is desperate to get as close to Trump as possible (and thus has a disincentive to do the basic, proactive work to be ready to support users on No Kings Day).
Further, Meta desires to have a monstrously large market share of political communications. They resist attempts to shrink their reach. What comes with that market power is a responsibility to see major moments of political action coming (and how could they not see it this one coming!?) and be ready. The No Kings IG was down for 4 hours.
An investigation is warranted, at the very least, to understand why Meta (which effectively functions these days as a private government) was unable to protect protest against Trump, while it spends so much time trying to get close to Trump.
We have continued to dig into the root cause here and would like to offer an update.
Our engineering team discovered that the spike that triggered the incorrect enforcement was primarily in the accountâs âreadingâ behavior. Specifically, our network security systems detected the use of a Claude tool reading profiles, posts, and hashtags, the rate of which sharply increased (~4x volume) in intense bursts on October 17.
These abrupt, high-volume, sequential requests in a short period resembled automated bot traffic rather than an ordinary human browsing our systems. This activity caused our automated protections to incorrectly take the No Kings Instagram account offline. An automated re-review of the removal action an hour later recognized that shouldnât have happened and restored the account. It unfortunately took additional time for us to straighten out the situation with admin access to the IG account.
We want to reiterate our sincere apology for the error.
