imagine being this desperate for attention and you’re not even verified only la
What a boring WS I expected more from the Rays.. I also can’t be the only one thinking that maybe perhaps the Brewers could possibly be stealing signs? I mean in that 5th inning they knew the pitches that were coming

“We’re so insignificant compared to the vastness of the Universe.” Fuck outta here. Everything else in the Universe is jealous of us and the poor things can’t even know it.
“Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.” ― Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot

Sir, this is a national park, not a portal to the underworld. Photo of a bobcat pretending to be a tree demon at Joshua Tree National Park.

Asking things you can Google is antisocial behavior. This app should be nothing but personal anecdotes, advice requests, platitudes, and pet pictures.
Why are nearly all Downs syndrome people at least a little overweight? Do their carers feed them unhealthy diet or does the disorder itself cause the body to retain fat more readily?

I mean, didn’t we all tape Black Cats to things to see how high they’d pop? No? You never strapped a firecracker to a Hot Wheels? These are the things kids are missing out on these days.

I've watched the first two games of the World Series from beginning to end. I have not done this in a long time and it is like being in a baseball time machine. The teams playing, Milwaukee and Tampa Bay play what is called "small ball" which is to say don't rely on home runs to win games. This year the Astros hit 226 dingers. Tampa was 22nd with 169 homers and the Brewers hit 154 and ranked 29 of 30 teams. I don't know any of the players or who the coaches are. No big stars. No one with a $500 million contract. No nonsense. Get on base. Advance the runner. Steal a base now and then. Take chances. The two games so far have been tense and both were one-run victories by Milwaukee. In the 2026 season, Tampa Bay led MLB in one-run victories with a 25-14 record. The Brewers at .636 had the best record in MLB. Baseball teams ranked by salaries show how much richer players are in the biggest cities. The NY Mets pay $346 million and the Dodgers $339 M this year. The Brewers are ranked 19 of 30 and pay $200 M less than the Mets and the Tampa Bay Rays team is ranked 28th at $95 M. Cleveland, which almost made it to the Series, has the lowest team salary in Major League Baseball at $74M. So we have a Series this year that is not based on names you recognize from cities that have never wond a World Series. Enjoy it and hope it goes seven games.

I wonder how stupid I must have looked being so genuinely happy with people who were playing in my face. Laughing with them, trusting them, making memories and thinking I had something real with people who knew things weren’t what they seemed. But then I remind myself that I wasn’t stupid for being happy. I was happy because my intentions were genuine. I trusted because I would never intentionally make someone look foolish for believing in me. I loved people with an honest heart and I gave them the benefit of the doubt because that’s how I would have wanted to be treated. There’s a difference between being foolish and being sincere with people who weren’t sincere with you. I can regret who I trusted without regretting the person I was when I trusted them. I wasn’t stupid for being happy. I was simply being genuine with people who didn’t deserve the version of me they got to experience. And I refuse to let their dishonesty make me ashamed of the happiness I felt when I thought it was real.

This was a fun one-sided activity to ease my epistemic loneliness. 😂 We largely agree, which I assumed would be the case. My rebuttals to the items in @dioscuri Bad AI Takes Bingo Card. youtu.be/FneWXSDF0uI?is=NtJb…

Virtually no one in the comments knows what he’s talking about. 🤣
The way to think about this is: How many super smart and dedicated people do you want to hire? And they keep getting better.
