As Twitter devolves into X, slowly dies, and probably declares bankruptcy; I have nothing to say other than that people should be kind to each other.

Police do not prevent crime; they respond to it. Crime is prevented by higher wages, guaranteed health care, food security, high-quality child care, housing, good schools, and addiction treatment.

This El Niño has now set ocean temperature records for 150+ days straight. Average temperatures in the central equatorial Pacific Ocean have reached 86.4°F (30.2°C), while maximum temperatures have climbed to 88.8°F (31.6°C). But this El Niño is about more than just numbers 🧵

Great thread by Eric and the teleconnections from Super El Niño to the unprecedented early season Sudden Stratospheric Warming event forecast. “It’s all connected”
I have a sneaking suspicion that the extreme eastward shift & intensity of this yr’s “Super” El Niño has something to do w/ the unprecedented, exceptionally early Sudden Stratospheric Warming Event that’s in most model forecasts Plots via @Recretos’s site severe-weather.eu/polar-vort…

‼️ 50 Year Record Broken in Ft Lauderdale! 🌊 Water levels reached 2.51 Ft above mean higher high water, breaking the record for highest water in Port Everglades. That beats #hurricane Dorian and Nicole. Palm Beach also set its highest level on record in 56+ years. (Palm Beach broke record too - graph in thread) This is due to persistently strong onshore winds, full moon, favorable lunar phase, and sea level rise due to a warming climate. The number of “Sunny day” floods are increasing each year recently. (Yes I know it wasn’t exactly sunny) 🧵 1/ #Florida #flood

The pro-Israel lobby is supporting both candidates in Texas' 35th congressional district. Democratic candidate Johnny Garcia (@johnnygarciatx) is supported by DMFI and JACPAC. Republican candidate Carlos De La Cruz (@CarlosForTexas) is supported by RJC. #TX35

Sea level rise made this king tide worse
Collapsing cliffs, buildings on the brink of collapse and roads swallowed by floodwaters. Powerful king tides are wreaking havoc along California's coast, threatening oceanfront homes and inundating coastal streets.
