I am extremely proud to share that Assam has signed the MoU to set up India's first Proton Beam Therapy centre in the public health sector at a cost of ₹600 cr.
Until now, proton beam therapy, one of the world's most advanced cancer treatments, has been available only in private hospitals in India, at costs of up to ₹50 lakh.
Assam seeks to change that today.
This advanced technology attacks tumours with pinpoint precision while sparing healthy tissues. For suitable patients, particularly children, that can make a significant difference.
With 17 cancer hospitals rising across the state, 12 of them being functional, a community level constant outreach programme and consistent investments in human capital and infrastructure, our ambition is clear: Assam will be a global centre for cancer care.

The notification of #GuwahatiAirport as an Export point for Agarwood Chips and Agarwood Oil by the Union Govt led by Adarniya @narendramodi ji will boost profitability of our farmers and simplify logistical requirements.
Assam being the leading producer of this product which has a high demand in global market- @GuwahatiAirport's Export point declaration comes as a great relief for lakhs of people associated with this industry.
The Double Engine Govt is taking all measures to further boost Ease of Doing Business and make our products competitive globally.

At the request of Chief Minister @HimantaBiswa ji, the Modi Government has approved Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport, Guwahati, as the export point for Agarwood chips and Agarwood oil.
This is a big relief for farmers, producers, and exporters of this special product, of which Assam is a leading producer. It is a massive logistical leap not only for Assam but also for the North East, bringing potential markets closer to home.

Modi Govt deals another lethal blow against drugs with Operation Trident.
Our agencies launched a barrage of simultaneous crackdowns across 38 locations in Assam, Mizoram and Manipur on 23 October, smashing an international narco-cartel. The operation revealed ₹100 crore worth of hawala transactions, froze 1,424 bank accounts, attached properties worth ₹17.82 crore, seized 500 detonators and ₹12 lakh in cash, and led to the arrest of 18 people.
The network trafficked narcotics across the borders of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh through the Death Triangle Corridor. The offensive attests to India’s Himalayan resolve to realise the mission of eradicating every drug network by 31 December 2029. India will hammer until the last nail is driven into the coffin of drug cartels.

On World Rhino Day, we celebrate the magnificent greater one-horned rhinoceros and laud all those at the forefront of its protection.
Assam now holds nearly 80% of the world’s rhino population and Kaziranga’s efforts to end rhino poaching have been extensively appreciated.
On one hand, rhinos have either returned or are well protected in parts of Bihar and West Bengal. On the other hand, success of reintroduction of rhinos in Dudhwa (Uttar Pradesh) is creating history. This shows the sustained commitment of our people towards animal protection and active wildlife management in the range states.
Taking species conservation in the country forward, I am happy to share that Project Rhino has been initiated for financial and technical support to the range states for protection, habitat management, genetic improvement and understanding population dynamics.
