Wonderful news today! We are back in our home. THANK YOU to all of the hard working firefighters and support staff who helped limit the extent and damage from this fire. We are also grateful to our friends who offered us their beds, food, and homes.
More areas previously under evacuation orders have now been sent an all clear message. Road closures have been lifted as well. Check the Information Map at BoulderODM.gov to see the latest information. You can search for your address in the search bar in the upper left hand corner.
- Eagle Ridge Road off of Lewis Lane is now open. There is now full access to Eagle Ridge Road.
- Residents can now access up to the 1200 block of Stone Canyon.
- Residents with Stone Canyon addresses of 1570 and lower are welcome to return home.
- Electricity should be fully restored around 8:00 p.m. and dumpsters for food waste will be available starting Saturday morning.
Acres - 1,553
Containment - 53%
Do not call 911 to report smoke. This is an active fire and will still be smoke. Firefighters will remain on scene monitoring.
For more information, including maps, please visit: boulderodm.gov
20% containment on the #StoneCanyonFire is an achievement - Woohoo!
Sadly our house sits in the overlap of the Venn diagram of risk - mandatory evacuation zones for both this AND the #AlexanderMountainFire.
Welcome to the new normal in the west.

Iceberg A-83 breaks away from the Brunt Ice Shelf. 🧊
A sensor on #Landsat 9 captured these enhanced-color images of the break. Yellows and oranges are warmer areas, like open water or thin sea ice. Blues are colder areas, like the thicker ice of the iceberg and ice shelf.
Tom doesn’t need this news in order to rest in peace, but the rest of us are likely gratified to see justice has been served. Many lives were changed on Oct 5, 2022, and collectively, we are poorer for this senseless loss.
