a month ago pump.fun let you launch a coin priced in something other than SOL. tokenized stocks, wrapped BTC, metals. 93 quote assets. one level: your coin, its quote, done. last week they went further: the quote can be another pump.fun coin. a new coin paired with a coin already on the platform, still on its curve or migrated to PumpSwap. every buy of the new coin routes through the parent. one level, again. a coin paired with a coin couldn’t be used as a quote itself (error 6105, CurveDepthExceeded). on October 13 that limit moved. Global.max_curve_depth went from 1 to 2. a coin can now be paired with a coin that is paired with a coin. the program caps it at 5. it’s recursive, and it has levels. that’s the part nobody is building on. so we did. meet $ROOT 🌳 how it works under the hood: create_v2 takes the parent as a “pump coin quote”. the chain SOL → A → B → C gives A depth 0, B depth 1, C depth 2. the new coin’s starting reserves are computed live from the reserves of every coin on its chain, so it raises roughly what a normal launch raises, measured in its parent. its price is denominated in the parent. you don’t buy it with SOL, you buy it with the coin below it. $ROOT is the trunk: a standard pump.fun coin paired with SOL, depth 0. anyone can GROW a coin on it. pick a parent ($ROOT or any coin already on the tree), name it, drop a logo, send SOL. the engine builds the quote chain accounts and creates it with create_v2 quoted in the parent. depth 0 → 1 → 2, as deep as pump.fun allows. buying a depth-2 coin from SOL is one multi_hop_swap: SOL → $ROOT → branch → twig. you cannot buy a coin on the tree without buying everything under it. structurally. on-chain. every coin grown on the tree launches with a 1% creator fee, paid in the coin it grows on. not in SOL. in its parent. a coin that trades a lot doesn’t accumulate SOL, it accumulates the coin below it. then the sap run. one clock, every 10 minutes, for every coin on the tree: → claim 100% of its creator fees → 50% buys the coin itself and burns it → 50% burns the parent coin on the spot $ROOT has no parent, so both halves buy $ROOT back and burn it. nothing is ever sold. no team wallet, no ops cut, no treasury. everything grown on a coin ends up burning the coins beneath it, down to the trunk. sap flows down. the bigger the tree, the more $ROOT burns. each grown coin has its own engine wallet as creator, key encrypted at rest, same clock for everyone. the site shows the whole grove live: every coin, its parent, its depth, its chain, every run. we tested it against mainnet, not a devnet. max_curve_depth reads 2. create_v2 with a pump-coin quote simulates clean at depth 1 and at depth 2, on real coins launched this week. the trunk gets planted soon. then anyone can grow on it. every coin grows on another coin. 🌳 thepumptree.fun/
