hot take: I don't want analytics to be this cheap analytics looks simple on the surface, but it's expensive to run at scale at billions of events you need to have smth like clickhouse and you cant afford a hosted db solution. because you're cheap & ltd and if it's self-hosted, that comes with even higher risks I love cutting costs. But I also want to know the tools I build my business on will still exist in 2 years cheap is great. sustainable is better. btw I had a similar reasoning when I launched Sequenzy I wanted to offer the best possible service at absurdly low price I quickly understood it was unsustainable & raised prices sequenzy is still among the cheapest on the market BUT it's not absurdly cheap and I can actually afford to give customers the best possible service
Introducing DataBull 🎉 I was paying $39/mo for DataFast just to see which posts made me money. That's $468 a year. Forever. And it goes up as your traffic grows. So I built my own. Same idea: revenue by traffic source. $29 lifetime. Unlimited sites. Unlimited events. Lifetime updates. > databull.app

if I want to drastically cut costs - I can always self-host and then it's easier. at much smaller scale even a simpl sqlite might work fine and I'm not afraid of downtimes because I also have my website there it makes sense. but 29$ for ltd doesnt

building in established market makes things 10x better especially with AI you can literally ask your agent to analyze all your competitors and how they grew and apply the same tactics the only thing left is execution ofc (and it's VERY hard, don't get me wrong)

super bullish on this every day, there's more and more on your plate each day email marketing shouldn't be another thing on your endless todo list we were already quite ahead: - showing you relevant automations to build - building on-brand beautiful emails/automations with information about your company now, we're taking it one step further: - analysing what works - AND suggesting the fixes only analysing would just add 5 extra items to your todo list every week. that's not gonna work now you have no excuses to have a bad email marketing strategy
sequenzy is proactive now every week, we review your sequences, campaigns, emails and give actionable insights: - what sequences you should add(and built them for you) - what sequences needs to be stopped - if you need to send more/less emails and much much more absolutely for free

just use sequenzy🥰🥰🥰
luckily you dont actually have to do all of this.. - if you only want to send a newsletter and have a blog, just use Substak - its free - if you only want to send a few marketing emails and you're technical - vibe code an SES wrapper like @marclou is doing. (we do the same for Voibe btw) - if you're not technical want SOTA email marketing, just use something like bento by @jessethanley or Sequenzy by @nikpolale (<50% cost of beehiiv) Tyler's post is trying to justify a VC pressured rug pull that doesn't work in the market he's in right now.. it may have worked in 2023-24.. maybe even in 2025.. but not right now.. Users act based on the options they have, and the trade-offs they present.. not based on how much effort it took you to build a product.. And AI has dramatically increased the options while reducing the trade-offs for everyone across the board.. big lesson for us all..

(ofc sequenzy isn't really "vibe-coded". I work on deliverability/performance every single day 12h/day to create the best tool on the market) it's funny tho

emails make money easy as that
91% of my sales come from automated emails. Not from 𝕏. Email does the selling for you. (it's not cold emailing) I wrote down the whole system, every template included so that you can copy it 👇

ok guys should I give up on sequenzy? is it over?
Bye bye Beehiiv 👋 I vibe-coded my own newsletter platform: 📧 Campaign management w/ editor 🖥️ Web archives (newsletter.marclou.com) 🔗 API support 🫧 List cleanup, deliverability reports It took a few prompts with Opus 5.5. I left Beehiiv because they raised prices for the 3rd time in 2 years. - My first yearly bill was $1,000. - My future bill would have been $4,000. Now I'm using AWS SES + MongoDB, and I will pay less than $300/year. Newsletter platforms charge per subscriber, when in fact the real cost is the number of emails sent. Subscribers will naturally become inactive, so you end up paying more for something that hurts your deliverability (sending to dormant subscribers = spam trap). So I've set a cleanup cron job for my newsletter alternative. It marks inactive subs as dormant, sends one last re-engaging email, and stops emailing them. Money saved. Deliverability increased. I also gain a priceless feature: Freedom. I can change the UI, add features, connect all my apps - anything is possible with just a prompt. I'm replacing Resend next. I love it, but it's very expensive ($400/mo)
