i've shipped 5+ ios apps. here's everything i learned about actually making money from them: 1. distribution beats product. every time. a mediocre app with a distribution channel beats a great app nobody finds. your best feature is worthless if nobody installs it. 2. the app store doesn't pay you. downloads are free attention. the paywall is where the business is. most devs obsess over the icon and the onboarding. the paywall converts or it doesn't. that's the whole game. 3. sell the outcome, not the features. nobody cares that your app has ai tracking, smart reminders and cloud sync. they care what changes in their life. i stopped listing features on my paywalls and started selling the result. conversion went up immediately. 4. on tiktok, format beats followers. a fresh account with the right format gets pushed. a big account with the wrong format dies. the algorithm tests the content, not your follower count. that's why 0-follower accounts print views. 5. research the format before you build. before i write one line of code, i look at what's already winning in the niche. which formats get millions of views, which hooks repeat, which apps show up again and again. building blind is gambling. 6. one post a day beats ten posts once. consistency compounds. warmed-up accounts, one solid post daily, and the niche learns you. most people quit in week two, right before it starts working. 7. kill fast. if the format doesn't move after honest testing, the idea is dead. sunk cost is what actually kills indie devs, not bad ideas. distribution is a learnable skill. product taste is a learnable skill. most devs only train one of them.
the BEST way to warm up a tiktok account (i run one per app, this never fails): every account gets 2 sessions a day at random times. each session starts tiktok fresh, straight to for you. watch times are random: mostly fast skips, sometimes a long watch, a short pause before swiping. look human. DAYS 1-2: just exist. scroll for you 15-20 min per session. no search, no likes, no follows, no posts. you are a normal new user discovering the app. DAYS 3-4: teach it your niche. warm up on for you for a few minutes, then type a niche term into search letter by letter and open the first result. i rotate ~10 niche terms. watch way longer than on for you: 12s to 1.5min per video. still no likes. DAYS 5-6: become a fan. same flow, but now like ~8% of videos after long watches. your for you fills up with niche content. DAY 7: post. 10 min of normal scrolling first, then upload 1 slideshow with caption and hashtags. max 1 post a day. and keep the niche sessions running every day, even on days you dont post. your account never posts cold. the algorithm already knows your niche before your first video exists. this is f*cking gold. A guy who shipped 100+ apps and about 6M organic downloads before AI just wrote the exact path he'd follow if he was starting today. He's been building apps since 2009, and the thread is basically every mistake non-technical people make before their first app even exists. And step one isn't even building the app. It's a quick web version you test with real people for 1 to 2 weeks. → Pick a category someone already validated and find your angle. The demand, the pricing and the complaints are already out there → Give the web prototype 2 days, then spend a week with real users before you touch a real app → Map the app flow by flow on paper first (onboarding, sign up, payments, the core) and write the spec with Claude → Pick a builder where you plug in your own Claude and keep your code, so you're not paying credits forever → Build one flow at a time, never the whole app in one prompt, and expect about 30% of your time on debugging I run a mobile app studio, and honestly this is where most first apps die. Prompting the whole app in one go feels amazing for a day. Then you spend weeks fixing it. If you're building your first app this month, go slow, build one flow at a time, and get it in front of 5 or 6 people on TestFlight before you launch. Full post below.

Sam Altman (CEO of Open AI): "You no longer need to write prompts." In just 38 minutes, he explains how to use ChatGpt at a level that most people can't even imagine. It's talk he gave to stanford students. A friend sent me the recording last night. After watching it, I realized I was only taking advantage of about 15% of what this tool can really do. Watch it in full and then read the guide l leave below on how to create a system that prompts itself.

i'm begging you: - find 20 startups that raised a seed round 3 to 9 months ago (ignore any raise that happened <3 months ago) - pick the 5 that sell to the same kind of customer - find their founders on X - read their last 100 posts - pull out every question someone asked them about the product (skip the ones the founder replied to) 1. why do all this? [bookmark this right now, you’ll forget this by tomorrow] because the replies under a founder's posts are people telling you, in their own words, what they want. - people asking for alternatives - anyone annoyed about the price - "does it do X yet?" type questions - people who signed up, got stuck, and gave up put all of it in a sheet. that sheet is now a list of possible customers, the problem each one has, and the exact phrasing they use for it. next problem: 2. how do these people end up noticing you? - take the 10 questions that come up most - make one useful piece of content for each - leave your product out of it - answer the question better than the startup did - tag the startup when you post it. if it helps their users, their team reposts it and you borrow their audience - if an alternative does something better, tag them. - if your answer needs 2 or 3 products chained together, write that down. that combo is your tool in step 4 >important< someone asking whether an AI tool can do a thing? - record a 30-second clip of you doing it. when the complaint is pricing.. - line up 5 alternatives and show what each one costs once you add everything up. if a workflow keeps tripping people up.. - build a free template that handles it. do this for 30 days. 3. then check which posts sent people to your profile. - ignore likes - more bookmarks than likes means people plan to come back. repeat that topic - replies that ask a follow-up question count more - anyone who went and used one of your templates - and note which problems keep bringing in people you haven't seen before drop the topics nobody bit on and keep going on the ones that pulled people in. 4. now build a free tool for the problem that came up most. one small tool is enough for now. the full SaaS can wait. - put the link in your bio - drop it under conversations where it fits - send it directly to the people who asked for exactly this - ask users what they still can't do with it now you've got: a) an audience that cares about one specific problem b) a list of people who have already said they have it c) a free product they have a reason to try d) feedback from real users on what to build next 5. now add a paid feature. dm your 20 heaviest users first with the price and two lines on what it does. > 5 say yes, build it. > fewer than 5, the feature is wrong, the price is fine. Goal: - $10/month - 100 paying users - $1k MRR that's the target. the order is the whole trick: customers first, then what they wanted, then distribution built around their problems, and something to sell only at the end. If you read till here, reply “I’m a reader” helps me understand if I should keep my content this long. a like, repost or a reply also encourages me to keep posting. ✨

🤯 is what happened to my brain in my early 20s when I learned it runs on biases. Distortions of reality I can’t see, touch, taste or smell. I thought I was a rational thinker. 😬
Just found out about recency bias. Maybe the most important bias ever

WHOEVER LEAKED THIS HAS BIGGER BALLS THAN SENSE. Someone claims to have turned $100 into $2,500 in 48 hours using Claude + QuantGPT for AI-powered trading. But the interesting part isn’t just the AI. It’s the infrastructure behind it. QuantGPT connects Claude to trading tools through MCP, allowing you to: → Access historical market data → Build and backtest trading strategies → Check for overfitting and weak performance → Paper trade before risking real money → Deploy strategies with a monitored execution runner Claude helps develop the strategy. The infrastructure tests it, while risk controls help keep execution disciplined. That’s the difference between asking AI for trading ideas and building an actual quant trading workflow. This is f*cking gold. Anthropic put out an official guide for agents that keep working while you sleep, with a full template inside. 9 minutes to read, one evening to adapt. The setup: point it at your Slack channels and GitHub repos. Every morning it does the catch-up you normally lose an hour on: -> What changed since yesterday. -> Which reviews are stuck on you. -> Which decisions are blocking someone else. It verifies each item first, then posts a short brief to Slack. Memory is built in. It knows what it reported last time, so you never get the same update twice. Preferences, schedule and a spending cap live in the config, so the agent runs on your terms and stops at your budget. All of it runs on Anthropic's infrastructure. Laptop closed, phone in your pocket, brief waiting when you open Slack. Save this, then read the full Opus 5.5 Harness Engineering guide ↓
A GUY HANDED HIS APP'S MARKETING TO AN AI IN WHATSAPP FOR 24 HOURS AND WOKE UP TO 300K+ VIEWS No giant prompt. Pedro onboarded Muse like a new marketing hire -> context on his quit-drinking app -> what already works for it -> two rules. Rule one: do not force the app into every post. Rule two: the final creative call stays with him. • What Muse did on its own > Researched short-form that is already performing and broke down why: hook, format, curiosity, why people keep swiping. > Turned the strongest reference into a slide-by-slide concept for the app and spun several variations of the same idea. > Took two corrections from Pedro, hook styling and the product showing up too early, and shipped v2. • Where the human stayed > Pedro only reviewed what felt off and approved the calendar. > Muse organized everything into Postiz, max two posts a day, so the schedule was one review, not a daily chore. > The slideshows crossed 300K views in the first 24 hours. AI takes the research, the creation and the scheduling, the person decides what is worth posting -> the whole 24h breakdown is in the article, link in the first reply ↓

This is VERY important for app builders. Tiktok (and even Instagram) sometimes block users from clicking your App Store Link from their bio. You're missing out on a TON of potential sales. So here's a way to get a guaranteed redirect to your app: Prompt your agent: "Build a mobile link-in-bio page that detects TikTok/Instagram's in-app browser and shows a full-screen overlay with an arrow pointing to the ••• menu and the steps 'Tap ••• → Open in browser' (on Android, try auto-opening Chrome first). When opened in Safari or Chrome, redirect straight to my App Store or Play Store link (detect the device), with a big Download button as a backup."
If your link in bio has no redirect, you’re losing money Left: No redirect. The visitor gets “Action can’t be completed” with no explanation, gets confused and leaves Right: With a redirect, they’re told exactly what to do (“Tap ••• → Open in browser”) and land in their real browser or App Store, ready to buy or download You worked hard to get the click. Don’t lose it on the last step
