Anyone travelling to North Goa @miagoaairport would know the taxis which cost Rs. 1200-2500 on avg to get anywhere. While there is a little used AC shuttle bus service that gets you close at 1/10th the cost. ℹ️🚍Sharing the latest timetable and fare details in public interest

For code to be considered law, it has to be open. But codification of law with software is resulting in black box governance, where one won't know what is the code? We are ending up with Kafka's trial where you are punished because they won't tell you what the law is.

Please excuse them, they were busy asking us why we were carrying the 🇮🇳 & singing the National Anthem without prior permission.
Where are the "only freedom park", "traffic jam", "public inconvenience" warriors now? The @PoliceBangalore and @CPBlr must make public the application for permissions and the permission letters.

My dear friends, please, I hope to demand your absolute attention to this matter: In 2018, my junior from St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, Dr. Randall Sequeira (middle in the pic), trekked up a steep, bauxite-rich plateau in Odisha to hold a monsoon health camp in the indigenous Kutiya Kondh village of Kutrumali. In a piece he wrote then titled "Kutrumali’s Demons," Randall described sleeping under a dripping school roof in freezing fog, borrowing utensils from a local health worker to cook khichdi, and waking up at 6 AM to a line of tribal mothers. He wrote with heartbreak about treating malnourished toddlers with protruding bellies and visible ribs, listening to stories of stillbirths and chronic fevers, while noticing the shiny new solar lights installed by a mining conglomerate eyeing the aluminium ore beneath the villagers' feet. Comparing his small medical team to hobbits sheltering in the night, Randall worried about the outside forces coming for that fragile village. Randall stayed with the tribal/ adivasi community to serve them. After St. John’s and an MD in Internal Medicine from SMS Jaipur, he gave up every comfort of urban medicine to live in Kalahandi, recognizing that clinical prescriptions are meaningless when indigenous communities are stripped of their forests, water, and dignity. On the night of October 16, Odisha police picked up Dr. Randall Sequeira and Dalit activist Laxman Naik at 11 PM from his home in Bhawanipatna. A gentle physician who has spent years trekking up hills to save tribal children is now locked in Rayagada sub-jail under frivolous but draconian charges (attempt to murder, dacoity), simply for standing with Adivasis peaceful protesting the mining of their sacred hills in Sijimali and Kutrumali. thewire.in/rights/randall-se… Odisha Govt. said it will cut down forests to connect tribal villages. But it was a way to bypass green laws and fast track London based Vedanta’s, and Adani's mining plans. Local organisations estimate that around 45 villages depend on these hills and would be affected. reporters-collective.in/trc/… The state has answered with repression rather than dialogue. In the last three years, at least 43 police cases have been filed and over a hundred Adivasis and Dalits, both women and men, have been incarcerated in Odisha jails. For example, from In March and april 2026, 8, 2026, to April 8, 2026, within one month, 24 people were sent to jail, 217 were made accused, and the number of “others” total 1,140. An activist who was not named in the original FIRs, but has since been implicated in about 12 cases, so that bail in one case is followed by arrest in another. This pattern of capture and releases have been used to crush rational dissent. Dr. Randall understood that being a good doctor means understanding that prescriptions cannot compensate for the denial of land rights, that surgery cannot undo displacement and that no medical can substitute for the basic infrastructure a government has failed to provide. thehindu.com/sci-tech/health… To my fellow medical fraternity, and every citizen with a conscience: a kind physician who embodies the highest ethics of our profession is being criminalized to clear the way for bauxite mining. Please do not let his voice be buried in a sub-jail. Amplify this, demand due process, and demand the immediate release. Please sign in this form to show solidarity: forms.gle/o2Rj2Uu3tXaoWu9dA If anyone can help out in this situation please reach out to Medico Friend Circle - mfcindia.org/

In one of Delhi-NCR's top schools, parents are planning to pool-in funds to buy Dyson/Honeywell/Sharp Purifiers for their children's Nursery classrooms, for the upcoming bad-AQI season. Some parents logically asked, "Why doesn't the school buy these air purifiers?" The school said that their AC systems have HEPA filters, to take care of dust to some extent. Unconvincing. Parents decided to go ahead with their own safety systems. Next, they asked- "What happened to the Air Purifiers that the classroom had last year? The previous batch too had purifiers with AQI monitors." School's response: "The air purifiers travel with the batch of children. As the students move up a year, the Air Purifiers do too. So the Purifiers that were in first grade last year, are in second grade now." Welcome to the incredibly complex world of public-health moving into private hands.

Such is the fear today that ordinary citizens carrying the 🇮🇳 & singing the national anthem can be deemed to be objectionable. If we don't exercise our freedom, we stand to lose it. Eternal vigilance is the price we pay to preserve our freedom.

Torrent Power have many more environment clearance applications pending on the Parivesh portal for the Saidongar project parivesh.nic.in The current batch of 32,000 trees is just the start.
Maharashtra Forest department has permitted felling of 32,490 trees near Karjat for Torrent Power’s 3000 MW Saidongar pumped storage project. 32,490 is not a small number man. Do we not have any other alternative @CMOMaharashtra?

This is such a brilliant piece of writing. I'll add to it: 1. In India almost all governance is compliance theatre: more for optics and local consumption. Often for politics. Often knee-jerk. Our foreign policy bravado appears no different. 2. Our government, instead of creating a level playing field + global competition to improve local capacity keeps businesses busy in compliance theatre, and irrational, ad-hoc and half-baked regulations (SIM Binding a clear example in tech), instead of creating an environment where our businesses can compete globally because there is a stable regulatory regime. 3. There is no internal oversight, no internal accountability, and external accountability is weakened by weakening the media, and increasingly blocking/banning on social media. The mess that we have is hidden behind lack of transparency from the government both in Parliament and in public, including in the lack of neutral press access, and the decimation of the RTI. Lack of due process, knee-jerk, short-term and ill-considered policy-making is a consequence. From a tech perspective: Go back to RBIs payments data localisation which was then relaxed through a non-legally binding FAQs, or the bizarre cybersecurity rules that are implemented randomly checked rarely, or RBI's mandated tokenisation of card payments that create a lack of confidence about whether a card will work abroad or online. Look at the IT Rules where "advisories" and "circulars" were sought to be made legally binding: makes policy-making more whimsical and reactive. IT ministry wanted deepfake labeling implemented in 10 days and almost nobody has done it 8 months later but no action taken. Performative compliance of a rule that shouldn't have existed. Or should I just say demonetisation? Hard lockdown where migrants suffered, and then near-zero action and no leadership from central govt during the delta wave in Delhi. I could go on and on. That's the sign of either an immature government where bureaucrats want to show compliance. Farcical governance has been normalised and we are back to UPA-2 days. Narrative control is superseding national interest in India. If we're surviving,(and in some case thriving) it's despite the state.
Why is Indian Cyber often a joke and is increasingly a societal farce? It is because of State+ and Status++ mentality, and embedding mediocrity b/c Local infants needs to be protected from global competence via compliance theatre @ssmumbai and I say it loud about eMudhra-4.

Public transit data collected with public money should be public and freely accessible. Selling it to preferred vendors in opaque deals is deplorable. Every single civilized country puts up gtfs data publicly along with Traffic congestion and other detailed city transit stats.

I thought it was just a matter of time before you posted about this! (complimentary) I'm also a big fan of the newer info displays on city buses. The best ones have a live-updating map with the moving bus pinpointed on it

It is possible to make cities and navigation accessible by including more languages with the improvements in technology, but the north Indian politicians are all worthless and useless, largely uneducated who can barely read or write in hindi to start with.

True, our constitutional democracy finally rests on an independent judiciary and is ultimately where hope lies: xitter.cf/barandbench/status/210…
India at UN, Geneva tweets, "We have seen the OHCHR’s remarks about today’s events in New Delhi. India is the world’s largest democracy, where the right to peaceful assembly is guaranteed by our Constitution and safeguarded by robust institutions, an independent judiciary, and a free media. As in every democracy, Indian citizens exercise this right subject to reasonable restrictions in the interest of public order. The authorities, for their part, act in accordance with the law, and our courts remain available to all for redressal of any grievances. The OHCHR’s concerns are therefore misplaced and constitute an unwarranted interference in the internal affairs of India. In this context, OHCHR would also do well to devote comparable attention to large-scale protests elsewhere, consistent with its mandate of impartiality and non-selectivity."
