PFA is transforming EP, but remember — CIED patients weren’t included in IDE trials. Up to 20–30% of device patients may eventually need AF ablation. Real-world experience matters. Our case shows why vigilance is key when performing PFA in this group. #EPeeps #Cardiology

Presented at #ESCCongress:
Among patients with myocardial infarction and a left ventricular ejection fraction of more than 40%, beta-blockers did not lead to a lower incidence of death, reinfarction, or hospitalization for heart failure than no beta-blocker therapy. Full REBOOT trial results: nej.md/45QYbws

I yet to see a device lead without thrombus. Here are some examples. Leads are from 2 months to 18 years old. All patients underwent afib ablation and were on chronic anticoagulation. Please remember when they come with fever, it doesn’t necessarily mean they have vegetations.

These two changed the game. Congrats @Hisdoc1 @MdHuang on Founders” Lecture Awards. Great session with giants @KennethEllenbo1 @wgstevenson1.
This conduction system pacing revolution was created by physicians for patients, intended for preservation of nature’s best, amplified by social media, which galvanized industry.

I've been ranting for *years and years* about this. It's why I've favored BSc ICDs when all other things are equal - best for the patient and for health care costs (negative incentive for battery longevity for vendors, hospitals, docs & admin's prioritizing RVUs)
