People keep saying yo me: “No, but you have to agree that xyz.” And I gotta cool as a fucking cucumber repeat “Well, like I just said, I kinda don’t, actually.”

feel like legislators claiming that women's consent is meaningless and dismissing the possibility that we might be telling the truth when we say we enjoy particular sex acts—or indeed sex in general—is way more misogynistic than some light choking teapaw.org/CarolineVoaden/status/…
This is such an absurd “opinion.” It’s so 2023.

The Green Party doesn’t have a “Friends of Israel” group.
We’re the only major party that doesn’t.
Perhaps that’s why we’re the only party that willing to oppose settler colonialism.
Perhaps that’s why we’re the only party willing to oppose genocide.

On this day 109 years ago today British foreign secretary Arthur Balfour sent a letter to Lord Rothschild, a leading member of the UK's Jewish community, expressing the British government's support for the establishment of a Jewish national homeland in Israel.
It laid the foundation for the eventual end of the British Mandate of Palestine and the establishment of the State of Israel.
This article from the declaration's centenary explains how the Labour party already supported its aims months before it was written:

In general I think it's a very bad idea politically to let yourself be seen as "the anti-sex party". And yet politicians seem completely unable to help themselves.
Yes, it is correct.
Zack is fab. Anti-genocide and pro-oral sex ticks the boxes.
FWIW, I explained here - immediately after @TheGreenParty voted to destroy itself as any sort of credible or reputable political force - what’s divisive, deplorable & antisemitic about that motion.

I just can’t get my head behind this indulgent nanny statism.
From 6 Nov 2026, new provisions of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 will criminalise possession of certain types of porn in England & Wales, with offenders facing up to THREE YEARS in prison. THREE YEARS
This has been gnawing at me for DAYS.
It is quite a crude subject so i can understand why people might not want to discuss it over tea. BUT the implications for individual liberty are worth examining
I don’t particularly like porn or sex work. Neither appeals to me. In fact i find both degenerate & exploitative.
But the Govt isn’t seeking to ban either outright. Instead it’s selectively criminalising certain depictions, including some involving adults roleplaying sexual acts that aren’t necessarily unlawful in themselves…
I have no difficulty supporting prohibitions on child sexual abuse material. In fact i welcome it
BUT I do question criminalising depictions of oral sex for example, “face sitting”, involving consenting adults.
Is there sufficient evidence that watching something causes someone to commit sexual violence? And even if exposure influences behaviour, does that justify criminalising private possession?
At what point does the state stop preventing sexual violence and start policing private sexual fantasy?
Feminism has fought for women’s bodily autonomy, sexual freedom & protection from coercion. But doesn’t protecting women risk becoming paternalistic when the state starts determining which consensual sexual expressions are acceptable?
John Stuart Mill’s harm principle seems particularly relevant here… the exercise of power over an individual against their will requires justification by reference to harm to others not merely moral disapproval
We ought to be able to distinguish between what is immoral, what is distasteful, what is dangerous and what ought to be CRIMINAL . . .
And if we’re going to start sending people to prison for what they privately watch, I’d rather hope we can offer a more convincing justification than an article about throat cancer 😂

What a shocking appropriation, or downright theft of history.
The Battle occurred in Palestine before the state of Israel was created — and has zero connection especially to what Israel has become.
Israel commemorated the 109th anniversary of the Battle of Beersheba, honouring the bravery of the Australian Light Horsemen.
Deputy Director-General for Asia and the Pacific @AvivEzra and Director of the Pacific Department @DavidLevyIL laid wreaths on behalf of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs @IsraelMFA.
The legacy of the Battle of Beersheba continues to underscore the enduring historical bond between Australia and Israel 🇮🇱🇦🇺

Rates of sexual violence are higher in countries where porn is banned.
In addition in all countries, cross-culturally and over time when porn was legalised it led to a reduction of sexual violence against children.

Here is the legislation. It has defences and refers to previous definitions already in law. It will be up to judges and lawyers defending defendants to determine whether a crime has been committed. legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/202…

I regularly get choked in a variety of ways during my private time, and it is always very much playful.
Choking without consent is not acceptable, I agree with that obviously... which is why it was *already fucking illegal* before this nonsense legislation happened.

BREAKING: Europe is under a massive cyber attack, with supermarket fridges and freezers in Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia all hacked today by raising temperatures to up to 50°C, destroying huge quantities of food, per Reuters.
"Everything is destroyed," a sales manager in Sweden said, adding that "there has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees."
More than 40 supermarkets in Belgium and Luxembourg were affected. "I only have two words for them: wake up, please, because there's something going on," a store manager in Belgium said.
This follows a similar cyberattack last month that hit hundreds of supermarkets in France, raising freezers as high as 80°C and causing major food losses.
It also comes after freezers at 6 US military bases mysteriously malfunctioned, spoiling large quantities of food, which the Pentagon is investigating as a suspected cyberattack.
