The #RamayanaMovie has sent so many into unnatural convulsions, it is really amusing to witness some of them. One group is particularly making such a fool of itself it is remarkable.
Without this group's convulsions, Twitter would have witnessed the Ramayana movie as just another mediocre, badly done attempt at mythology by an incompetent director with a woke agenda to humanize Ravana. And just like that, it would have disappeared and been consigned to the dustbin of cinema where it truly belongs.
But strange are the convulsions of this group.
This group which was falling over backwards in mind-bending, reality twisting 'logic' until yesterday to prove the 'Brahmanatva' of Ravana is today upset that Ravana is glorified in the movie.
The contradictions and in their own logic are so vast, it is hilarious. On one hand they went to extreme lengths to quote many post-Ramayana texts to prove their point. Many of these texts would be declared 'apocryphal' according to their own strict standards, and yet here in this movie they are upset that how dare the movie deviate from Valmiki Ramayana.
While they accuse others of 'dilemmas', they carry at least four to five dilemmas in one sentence that they manage to vomit on twitter.
One dilemma of theirs is this: when that abomination Adipurush had come and everyone was blasting it as it deserved, this group was saying that 'no movie made on Rama should be criticized' as it is an overall good trend. They were saying this because their appointed 'guru' did not want Adipurush to be criticized. And now they are all against Ramayana movie because some idiots claim that it is 'eco-system-endorsed'.
I was also 'told' not to criticize Adipurush and when I didn't comply to this personal diktat, there was unhappiness.
And all this because they perceived (wrongly) some individual or group to be supporting the Ramayana movie. This is how ad hominem these 'leaders' are. They will oppose others just for the 'crime' of not supporting them through every twist and turn of logic that they make.
Some they will oppose just for belonging to 'wrong group.
Some they will oppose just for belonging to 'wrong gender'.
Their petty lives exist to oppose or support certain individuals ad hominem ad infinitum.
And they are so blinded that if some man or woman they oppose asserts tomorrow that Sanatana dharma is great, rest assured for these ad hominem poster boys to come up with a campaign titled "Sanatana dharma is indeed vast... but... it is not great."
I hope that our side gets out of the idiotic pitch battles that these petty personalities love.
This is a time we should all focus on how Nisha Bhagat suicide is something which is never repeated again and how Hindu society can evolve Rapid Response Units which will help Hindu activists on ground legally, financially and otherwise.
That is a job to do, not this ad hominem ad infinitum game of idiocy.
#HappyDiwali to all of you. :)

If you criticize the leftists and the woke who subvert our Itihasas in their writings, serials and movies, but now promote a movie which does exactly the same and call it entertainment or creative liberty or whatever.
It only shows one thing: lack of integrity and conviction in your own positions and viewpoints.

The film shows the asuras as victims, starving underground after the devas crushed them.
Valmiki tells it the other way round.
Lanka was given to the rakshasas as their home.
Settled there and drunk on Brahma’s boons, Malyavan, Sumali and Mali drove the devas out of heaven and tormented the rishis.
Only when the devas ran to Shiva, and Shiva sent them to Vishnu, did Vishnu pick up his weapons.
They lost Lanka because of what they did, not because of what was done to them.

I mean, it’s unbelievable. People did paid promotions for Ramayana, and even that would have been forgotten with time. But these people are now going to the extent of defending their decision to promote the film and watch it.
And now same so called Hindutvavadi are abusing people who are standing by their decision not to promote or watch a movie featuring an actress who made anti-Hindu and anti-army statements. Seriously, the only word that comes to my mind for this entire situation is Kalyug.

Bull Shit.
While he did everything out of greed and lust in reality, It was clearly shown in the film that he was fighting for his people. It's natural for anyone to admire someone who fights for a group of oppressed people
That's the main reason & acting is secondary.

I am beginning to seriously suspect that the production team of #TheRamayana has an ultra-feminist on the creative team who has decided that the epic desperately needs a contemporary feminist makeover.
First, a #Sita who, according to many viewers, bears little resemblance to Valmiki’s description.
Then, a liberated #Shurpanakha, unabashedly advertising her sexual interest in the brawny Rama and Lakshmana.
And then #Kaikeyi, whom Lara Dutta feels is the “the most misunderstood woman in history”and is rather a woman of immense emotional depth, vulnerability and remorse who was merely helping fulfil a divine prophecy!
Thankfully, #Manthara has been spared so far. I dread to imagine the feminist rehabilitation programme awaiting her!
And the icing on the cake is Sita defending Shurpanakha after she attempts to seduce her husband? What next? Lakshmana being asked to issue a public apology for violating Shurpanakha’s right to sexual expression?
Was this movie actually about Lord Rama, or was it an elaborate exercise in giving every female character a contemporary feminist makeover?
The only person in danger of being sidelined in this Ramayana seems to be Rama himself!
Thank God I grew up watching #RamanandSagar’s Ramayana. Otherwise, I might have grown up believing that nobody is ever responsible for their actions because, apparently, everyone is just settling some karmic debt.
At this rate, even Ravana might just need a little character rehabilitation and a sympathetic backstory!

Some Controversial things in #Ramayana which will create a good image of Ravana in the minds of children that Ravana is the protector of the oppressed, respecter of women and can do anything for the respect of his sister.
1) The Whitewashing of Ravana and Asuras...
- They showed Asuras as oppressed people and Raavan saves them. You will feel as if Devas are the bad guys and Raavan is a Savior.
- In one scene, these people have shown that Ravana is saving the honour of a woman 😭
- There is no mention of his crimes against women which made him get the curse. Which is why he couldn't touch Sita against her consent.
2)
Zero mention abt Surpanakha tempting her brother to kidnap Sita for her beauty...
Here, they made it seem as if he only kidnapped her to avenge his sister's nose cutting, Not lust.
3)
Surpanakha was a demon who takes on the form of apasara to woo Ram. Then, when she gets rejected by both Ram & Lakshman, she takes on her original demon form and attacks Sita. This is why Lakshman cuts her nose in order to save Sita.
- The makers changed the entire scene by showing Surpanakha as born beautiful. She takes the form of Sita instead and Lakshman scratches her nose without any major provocation.
As if this was not enough, Sita reprimands Lakshman for overreacting and lectures him to respect women 🫠

Parents,
Don't show Ramayan by @malhotra_namit film to your children. They trust Ravan is right n reformer par excellence.
NTR did this to us in 70s n 80s by glorifying Raavan n Duryodhan met with a peculiar end.

This is exactly what happened when all those Karna kanging films originally hit the streets. Now people genuinely think that Karna (and by extension Duryodhan and the rest of the Kauravas) fought for equality and were immensely valorous whilst the Pandavas won through chance and crook when that is NOT the case. Hindus spend years, literal years, undoing the damage these movies do, and then these filmmaker’s with their never ending budgets and massive platforms make another movie even worse messaging.
And if you have an issue with this, you are not the right kind of Hindu or you’re not Hindu enough to deserve to see your stories on the big screen. We should just shut up and accept whatever bs these filmmaker’s choose to feed us at any point.
Today, it’s tyrannical Devas who have enslaved the Rakshasas and a Ravan in the form of a slave liberator. Tomorrow, the Rakshasa is Maha Vishnu himself.

What was Bollywood's actual plan?
They wanted to show VFX skills, to ensure it sells as per the trend; they picked Ramayan as script and hired Chapri Hindu champions to promote since film critics have lost value
The idiots goofed up, bcaz they thought Hindus follow these chapri

Half the Twitter celebs had free time today and went to watch Ramayan. And all of them came out with the exact same script: i went in with zero expectations… and I’m actually surprised..visuals hit different, story felt grand.
Let’s not pretend this is organic. it’s giving paid PR round 2.

Brilliant point by @SuhagAShukla ji. Read this to understand how subversion of our epics starts from academia and moves into mainstream art. Don't be desperately and embarassingly grateful that a movie has been made on our epics if the intent is to subvert and distort.
Ramayana is in the news so Audrey is “loosely translating” with her lurid takes again…
Valmiki never wrote "harem pet" or "furniture cover." Just as he never said Sita calls Rama a “misogynist pig.”
Here's what the text says.
On the living deer, Aranya Kanda 3.43.16:
antaḥpura-vibhūṣārtho mṛga eṣa bhaviṣyati
"This deer will be an ornament of the inner palace." Not “harem.” Sita is talking about after the exile, when they're back in Ayodhya. The word is vibhūṣā, ornament. It's a marvel to bring home to Bharata and the queen mothers. It isn't a "pet," and it isn't a harem plaything. We also know that Rama never took another wife, let alone kept a harem.
On the slain deer, 3.43.19:
śaṣpa-bṛsyāṃ vinītāyām icchāmy aham upāsitum
"I wish to sit on its golden skin, spread over a seat of tender grass." A bṛsī is an ascetic's grass seat. She's a forest-dweller in exile, picturing herself sitting beside Rama. That isn't upholstery or a "furniture cover." Rama even pictures the same scene himself a few verses later (3.43.34).
So "harem pet" and "furniture cover" aren't translations. Each one picks the most lurid or trivial reading available so that Sita comes off as decadent and vain. The text doesn't support either.
We've seen this before. In 2018 Truschke "loosely translated" Sita at the agnipariksha as calling Rama a "misogynist pig." Robert Goldman, the translator she cited, disowned it.
She starts from a Sanskrit word, takes the most loaded English you can find, and presents it as scholarship. That's academic malpractice.
And it’s a pattern.

So many mistakes ... First Sita say just "Ram" and then .. why does Lakshman responds ,,, looking at her ... in Ramayan it was said that he only looked at Sita Ji's feet

If you know the capacity of movies for political messaging & use it to elevate politicians,& still call it "just a movie" when it subverts our Itihasas, your priorities are pretty clear. Fealty to politicians & Itihasic liberalism- some Hindutva this is, if it can be called that.

One of my teachers once told me that Dharmic story telling tradition follows the rule of character arc when it wishes to fill in or add to a particular silence. This ensures that creative liberties do not distort Itihasas or Puranas. That's perhaps the test of intent of a maker.
