“I’m the president. He’s the boss.” 🔥 President Obama and Bruce Springsteen go way back — first striking up a close friendship on the 2008 campaign trail.
Bruce not only allowed Obama to play his hits at his rallies — but actually got out and traveled the country WITH him!
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen was honored at the Kennedy Center for his “lifetime contribution to American culture,” and in 2016, Obama awarded Springsteen the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Their partnership ultimately led to the 2021 Spotify podcast and subsequent book, "Renegades: Born in the USA," featuring intimate conversations about American identity, masculinity, fatherhood, and music, recorded at Springsteen's New Jersey farm.
Their discussions often highlighted their roles as storytellers — one through politics, the other through music — aiming to tell a "truer story" about the American experience.
Two cool dudes — each “bosses” in their own right 💪🏾

🇳🇿 In Wellington, New Zealand, a fluffy Turkish Angora cat named Mittens became famous for wandering into shops, offices, churches and even tattoo parlors. He had a home, but loved roaming the city, greeting strangers along the way.
On May 22, 2020, Mayor Andy Foster gave Mittens the Key to the City—Wellington’s highest civic honor. The cat received a certificate and a miniature key for his collar.
The ceremony, delayed by the COVID-19 lockdown, celebrated the happiness Mittens brought to the capital.
