I’ve come to like Britain and British people more and more. The average Brit is just not a mean spirited person

Trying to overcompensate for having done no work by being really chatty and chipper in the office but I think going from being really quiet and unsmiliing to this to back again gives them whiplash. Not everyone can be the personality disorder hire but someone's gotta do it

things I believe:
1. the littlest things mean the most
2. who you are is shaped and created by what happens when who you want to be meets reality
3. life is fundamentally good

Everyone is always rooting for you. Your parents want you to be a great son. Wife wants you to be a great husband. Your boss wants you to be a slam dunk hire. Every first date you’ve ever been on they’ve been rooting for you to get laid. Every time you started to tell a joke people hoped it would have a hilarious punch line. Your proximity to anyone is a reflection of themself, meaning the deck is never stacked against you, and your failures are completely your own

maybe the point isn't to become so wise and stoic that nothing ever hurts your feelings. maybe it's to become secure enough that you can feel the sting, laugh at yourself a little, learn what you need to learn, and keep your heart open anyway.
