The single best parenting lesson I ever received was through an interaction with my dad when I was 12.
I’d tried out for this baseball all star team. The coaches called to say they were taking 16 players and I was the 17th on the list. I didn't make it.
I was devastated. It was my first real experience with a failure. I went to my room crying.
My dad walked into my room and sat next to me.
He said:
"I know you're upset. I get it. But here are the three things the coaches said you needed to work on. Let's go out every day this summer and work on them together."
And we did. He took me out to the local field damn near every single day that summer. He’d get home from a long day of work and I’d be waiting with a bucket of balls, bat, and glove. We’d play until it was too dark to see.
At the time, I didn’t think anything of it. Now, as a parent myself, I realize the energy it required for him to come home and do that, day after day.
I came back the next year a completely different player. Years later, when I got a scholarship to play at Stanford, I still thought back to that summer as the turning point.
It took me having my own son to realize the parenting lesson in all of this.
My dad had two options in that moment:
1. Tell me the coaches were idiots. They were wrong. They made a mistake. I was the best player.
2. Acknowledge my disappointment. Reframe it as a growth opportunity. Support me to go after it.
It would have been easier to choose Option 1. I would have been happier to hear it. But it would have had a lasting negative impact on my life.
There was a big difference between what I wanted to hear and what I needed to hear.
My dad subtly reframed that failure as an opportunity. Then he showed up to help me capitalize on it.
He handed me my agency in that moment and made sure I never let it go.
I'll never forget that.
Today is his 71st birthday. I couldn’t be more grateful for the life and legacy he’s created.
Happy Birthday, Dad. I love you.

Thank you Seattle for the privilege. How often can anyone buy a Super Bowl winning team? Humbled.
Welcome to Seattle @vkhosla @nealkhosla and Neeru!
Time to expand the collection.
One of the best recent podcasts on AI. Neil has a gift for explaining all of the jargon and insights simply.
(I’m not involved, just found it unusually educational).
Neil Movva (@neilmovva) started his career at Nvidia, working on GPUs and kernels, and has an unusually deep understanding of inference, from software to chips to power.
We spend a lot of time on each of those layers, how they connect, and where the important tradeoffs are.
What makes this conversation special is how detailed it is (like a 401-level class), yet Neil makes it remarkably clear and easy to follow.
Today he runs Sail Research, a company building infrastructure for agents to make tokens as cheap as possible.
We discuss:
- Latency versus throughput
- Why there are no bad chips, only bad pricing
- The end of kernel engineering
- Buying chips and power no one else wants
- New chip architectures
- Nvidia lore + his contrarian view of the company
- Open source and the frontier labs
I learned a ton. Enjoy!

It’s time to put America first, politics to the side and pass the Clarity Act.
The U.S. should set rules for the pace of innovation and competition that we want to achieve.
At today’s @CFTC meeting, @OneMorePeter called for crypto and AI policy that supports builders, giving them room to test with clear safe harbors in order to build, scale, and compete at speed.
This is what it will take to bring America back to the forefront of entrepreneurship and crypto.

We at @khoslaventures made the largest initial investment yet, as we did in OpenAI, into @TeamOratomic after we looked at a dozen Quantum starts in a decade. On its way to solve Shor's algorithm, the true symbol of getting to "quantum computing" FIRST. oratomic.com/. Join them in building the world’s first fault-tolerant quantum computer capable of useful applications and a fundamentally new model of computation that could have consequences far beyond what we can predict today

A new breakthru in anti-aging research every month. Exciting
Interesting
CELLULAR AGING BREAKTHROUGH
Scientists may have found a molecular blueprint to revive old cells. A new UCSF study identified four key transcription factors, E2F3, EZH2, STAT3, and ZFX, that can push aged cells back into a youthful state.
By reactivating this gene control network, old human cells regained higher energy levels, increased cell division, and younger gene expression patterns. In aged mice, activating one of these factors reduced liver fat and scarring and improved glucose metabolism, making old tissue function more like young tissue.
This discovery suggests aging isn’t just damage, it’s a loss of coordinated gene regulation that may be partially reversible. Instead of replacing cells or turning them into stem cells, this approach hints at resetting cells from within, opening a new path toward therapies focused on extending healthspan, not just lifespan.

The correlation between professional and financial success and truly feeling happy and at peace are weakly or negatively correlated
Good friend of mine who has been on an amazing healing and inner journey, and truly became content after many years of struggle and work on himself, went to visit token 2049 in Singapore
He said: ¨man...all these people are in pain...i can just see it...incredible almost...you were so right about this...i can see it now¨
Obviously he sees it now...after having touched rock bottom himself, rebuilding his health, happiness, inner peace, and as a consequence his financial wealth as well, but there is an important lesson in there:
Do not think that becoming a massive crypto-fund manager or ceo of a powerful crypto-company is the road to happiness
Met many in person, even some of the richest and most powerful ones, and mark my words, have met very very few that are truly happy. Did meet a couple that left it all and are profoundly content now.
Looked at some videos from token2049, some of the panel discussions, and except maybe the rare individual like jordi alexander (who has serious inner development as well and whom i respect greatly) most of the big names in crypto are simply in pain.
You better just stay at home, work online, have family and loved ones close, do your inner practice, simplify your life, earn enough step by step, and you will be more content than 99.9% in this space
