Set out to find a way to be informative or entertaining. Most people upload gameplay that nobody cares about and think youtube just won't give them a chance or only favors established creators (the opposite is true) 3. You can get away with making a video and then scraping together a thumbnail when you upload. Your title and thumbnail are the most important part. Not only is it important for click through rate but it frames the entire video. Let's say you have a video talking about an update to a game. Here are two different titles and how they affect the perception of your video. Title 1: Call of Duty Just Destroyed Sweats and Streamers! Title 2: Big Changes Coming To Call of Duty! Title one might generate more clicks but more importantly it emotionally engages people and frames the content in your video as Call of Duty improving the experience for casual players. Title 2 is more broad and generic and will be viewed as just a boring "news update" video. With a more emotionally engaging title that frames the topic of your content you'll also likely retain viewers over a longer duration because they are more emotionally invested in the content.
