Previous @BreedersCup editions allowed prerace NSAID intravenous treatments in the days before racing. These prerace pain injections have been scaled back significantly this year.
In light of this, these runners are presenting a bit more tender than in years past.
Presenting ‘clean,’ along with the regulatory vets relying on a second set of eyes, AI eyes at that, has enhanced the veterinarians’ ability to detect soreness and inflammation that was unseen or overlooked in past Cups.
This is the first Cup where all of this has converged. There was a taste of it last year with the White Abarrio scratch, based on an AI gait assessment that took him out.

🆘🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🆘👉 Here we go again. Urgent fundraiser for TB gelding Calling Dr. Riggs (LA) Tattoo O29929. He is at the Kaufman, TX lot and deadline is tomorrow. He will either go to other auctions or further North toward the Canadian border. We don't want that to happen. We suspect he has been used as a riding horse in a second career somewhere and now he is at a feedlot.
We need to raise at least $3000 to secure him, transport and quarantine. He will be going to Mereworth Farm in KY after quarantine. We can't pass up this forever home for him but it takes a lot of effort and caring people to get him all of the way home because disgracefully there is no industry support for him and many other Thoroughbreds caught in the auction/slaughter pipeline. ⭕️ Israel's election authority has rejected Likud's claim that Arab parties "stole" Tuesday's election.
🔹Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's party claimed the vote was "stolen by Arab parties that support terrorism and the destruction of the Jewish state" and called for police and Shin Bet investigations.
🔹But Dean Livne, acting director general of the Central Elections Committee, told public broadcaster Kan there was no sign Arab parties gained votes unlawfully. A senior police official told Haaretz the claims were baseless, noting fewer complaints of irregularities than in past elections.
🔹With about 97% of votes counted, Netanyahu's bloc has 53 seats and the opposition 48, while Arab parties won a record 19, according to the committee. Turnout hit 77.7%, the highest since 1999, and about 80% in Arab communities.
🔹Democrats leader Yair Golan accused Netanyahu of trying to "undermine the election results through an ugly delegitimization campaign."

➤ Israel’s Central Elections Committee said Tuesday it had found no evidence of systematic ballot tampering. Likud claims to possess hundreds of testimonies and pieces of evidence but has not made them public.
➤ Before voting even began, Channel 12 and Haaretz reported that Likud officials had discussed alleging the election was “stolen” if Netanyahu failed to win.
➤ The accusations follow a surge in Palestinian voter turnout, with Arab parties projected to win 19 seats and Netanyahu’s bloc just 53, eight short of a majority.

Beat up but fine. Police stole my phone. Settlers punched me in the face several times, likely broke @AdeleShoko's wrist and gave @the_andrey_x a concussion. They threatened to shoot us with an assault rifle over and over.
Will tell the full story later, but for now, I just want to be clear about what happened. We witnessed two settlers locking a military gate in Umm al-Khair, blocking the only way to more than twenty Palestinian communities: trapping families inside, preventing students from reaching school and workers from their jobs, blocking delivery of food and access to ambulances, etc.
It's a crime that the military has this ability at all--but last night, we discovered that random settler terrorists also have the key. We confronted them and began asking questions on camera, and they nearly murdered us for it. When the police finally arrived, they arrested Andrey and me and charged us with assault.
The gate is still locked.

Contact the Jockey Club, Breeders Cup, National HBPA, NTRA, TOBA and many other industry entities and ask them why they do nothing to help Thoroughbreds in the auction/slaughter pipeline. Ask them why they think it is ok for these horses to linger at feedlots. Ask them why they promote breeding more horses but have not taken care of this issue first of not providing any Emergency Fund or programs for TB's that end up in the lower end/auction slaughter pipeline.❓

It’s the marketplace — the U.S. #Horseracing industry has been contracting in response to competition for gambling $’s & changing attitudes about risking & taking animals’ lives for it. At least 53 tracks closed since 2000 & wagering down 57% since 2003 adj for inflation.
