I talked to @Vlastkz about the future of #EU-#EaP-Central Asia relations after #EUElections. Here are a few takeaways:
🔵 @Europarl_EN will remain pro-#Ukraine as shown by @EPP& @ecrgroup supportive positions (1/2)
🔵 Relations with Central Asia will likely remain transactional, focused on energy & connectivity,
🔵 Potential inclusion of 🇬🇪🇲🇩🇺🇦 won't create direct borders with Central Asia that could boost exchanges

Yesterday I had the great pleasure to participate in @Amo_Cz conference on Czech Eastern policy 2024. We discussed the present and future of the #EasternPartnership and support to #civilsociety. Here are a few key points I shared 🧵👇
Civil Society maintains a key role as #watchdog, promoter of reforms, and generator of new ideas. EU member states, #EU and EaP institutions should continue engaging w/ civil society.
EU political & financial support to #civilsociety is crucial but uneven across the #EaP region.

Vedoucí mise demokratického #Bělorusko v Bruselu spolu s 🇨🇿 zvláštním zmocněncem pro Východní partnerství D. Stulíkem a @tmarocchi zúčastnil v Praze diskuze The future of the European policy towards Eastern partnership v rámci konference @AMO_cz k české východoevropské politice.
Thank you @Pavel_Havlicek_ for inviting me and to @AMO_cz for organising this much needed discussion on the present and future of the #EasternPartnership policy. It was great to hear reconfirmation of @CzechMFA support to the #EaP and to civil society.
1/2 It was my great pleasure to moderate the first panel discussion of the second day dedicated to one of our traditional topics of #EasternPartnership with David #Stulík of @CzechMFA, @tmarocchi of @eapcsf as well as @astapenka of the Brussels based Democratic Forces of #Belarus

The EU stands with the Georgian people & their choice for democracy, & w/ the EU future of Georgia.
Intimidations, threats & physical assaults on civic actors, politicians, journalists & their family are unacceptable.
Georgian authorities have to investigate these acts.

"The EU stands ready to continue supporting Georgians working towards a European future." - important words in HR @JosepBorrellF's statement on the adoption of the #foreignagent law in #Georgia. Continued support to democratic #civilsociety is a must eeas.europa.eu/eeas/georgia-…
After today's adoption of the #foreignagentlaw in #Georgia we can expected more intimidation and harassment of civil society activists. Our support goes to @EaPCSF_GNP & all targeted civil society in Georgia.
Intimidation, harassment, threats. Independent media is under attack in #Georgia for simply doing their job, covering the protests against the #RussianLaw.
Such attacks are completely unacceptable, and we call on the government of 🇬🇪 to protect #CSOs, and withdraw the law.

We expect a sustained increase in the repression towards #civilsociety in #Azerbaijan in the coming months. Our Alexandra Sabou detailed it in her @euobs piece, have a look below👇
#Azerbaijan's repression against civil society raises worries for many climate activists ahead of #COP29. In @euobs last week, @eapcsf Alexandra Sabou argued that the fight for #climate was linked with the broader struggle for democracy & #humanrights 👇
