Introducing the world's most realistic virtual work trials, so the candidates best at the job can finally get the job
Today, we're introducing an era where being good at the job is finally the same as being good at getting it, and launching the @trycruitical Work Trial Every great company's best hires were made when a founder could spend enough time with candidates to see the signals they care about That judgment is hard to scale, so hiring defaulted to resumes and archaic interviews, and AI has now broken both beyond repair We run the world's most realistic virtual work trials, so every candidate you meet can show you how they think, work and use AI @thakkaryash21 and I have assessed hundreds of candidates for fast-growing AI-native teams, and 1 in 3 candidates that Cruitical qualifies receive offers

we're going around SF spreading some Diwali joy with founders who might be too locked in and deserve a cheat day was fun seeing @DhravyaShah launch a feature, debug his mac mini, and plan @supermemory's Diwali party in a single breath if you're far from home, or would love to indulge in some delish Indian sweets (hits harder than Arsicault), tell us where to swing by!

AI only added more bandaid fixes on both sides, continuing this decade long arms race sometimes things need to get a bit worse before they get better, and we know exactly what the world needs to make hiring the easiest part of building a company

@felixrieseberg took the coding interview out at Anthropic, because Claude now beats candidates at it a welcome step in an arms race where every fix becomes the other's problem wrote about how we've come here, and what it will take to break this cycle

100% this building @trycruitical to make it 100x easier to measure the agency, taste, AI-fluency, and every other signal you care about
hiring is so hard for early stage startups bc you want someone who is - insanely proactive and thinks 10 steps ahead (you can tell how proactive they are from the interview process) - exudes excellence + never delivers anything mediocre. ever. - has great exec presence so you can put them in front of customers - already deeply knowledgeable about your industry before day 1 - high APM (actions per minute) and just an execution machine - knows how to wield AI like a weapon + when to use vs. not use it - great network that you can hire from as well

Wonder if I know someone trying to solve this @shubvastav @trycruitical 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Job market is crazy! Candidates aren’t getting the opportunities at the companies they’d actually like to work for, while companies are struggling to find the people they actually want to hire.

i might know a really cool startup that fits this
The next $1T company will be an AI-native services firm. But it must begin in a vertical with these traits: 1) Document-driven 2) Rules-bound 3) Verifiable

The last time we opened our waitlist at @trycruitical , we got 2800+ candidates signing up within 24 hours. And while the validation from the ticking number was gratifying, the reason behind my obsession was to see the results of this poll. If you're hiring, this poll is the best news you'll read all week.

@shubvastav and I had a great time judging the @ycombinator GTM Hackathon last Sunday! Huge thanks to @VihaarNandigala, @xdenuzzo, and @waynesutton for such a fun event 🙌 Saw some really cool ideas, from drone swarm ads in the sky to always-on outbound engines. GTM playbooks for software startups are evolving faster than their products are, and we have a few predictions at @trycruitical ourselves on some trends we're expecting to see more of:

We spent months on the streets of San Francisco, stopping strangers, asking real candidates and hiring managers what they actually feel about the way hiring works right now. Not one ended with someone saying the system works. We're building @cruitical toward a world where the best people always find the right work, and the best companies always find the people who make them great; where no one with real ability gets buried because of a keyword filter. This is just the start.
Today, we're announcing the death of the resume. And the launch of Cruitical. We spoke with over 600 people on the streets of San Francisco, and we now see the problem clearer than anyone. Hiring has never been more broken, both sides are losing, and it's reaching a cataclysmic state faster than people realize. It was never designed to find the truth, it was designed to filter. @trycruitical gives employers a complete picture of every candidate before the first interview -- how they think, how they learn, how they perform under real conditions. And gives candidates a way to be seen for what they actually are, and get better.

4 Fridays in a row of sharing @trycruitical progress updates with the builders at @fdotinc. Loved closing the last one out with @ruslanjabari , @super8n, and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background! Hard to not love building in SF on days like this. w/ @shubvastav

Somewhere along the way, hiring forgot what it was actually trying to do, discover talent instead of dismissing it. @thakkaryash21 and I have been quietly building something to bridge this chasm, and today, we start being louder. Introducing @trycruitical: the world's first AI-native hiring platform that allows every candidate to tell their full story, and helps companies hire job-ready and AI-fluent talent 10x faster.
