Local residents in Arsi where mass killings happened a few days ago are saying anyone in the area who picked up and buried citizens killed a few days ago, wore mourning clothes, or was a relative of the deceased is being hunted down and arrested.
Residents say the number of people arrested by local officials, accused of being 'collaborators with the enemy' and 'leaking information,' has now exceeded 100.
Addis Standard confirmed this today and published news on it, mentioning that the number of detainees is over 50:
It is now becoming crystal clear who is behind the killings?
News: More than 50 detained after burying victims of deadly attacks on #Orthodox faithful in #Ethiopia’s #Oromia
Addis Abeba — More than 50 residents in #Shirka Woreda, Southeast Zone (formerly #Arsi zone) of #Oromia region, have reportedly been detained after burying victims of recent attacks and assisting the wounded, residents told Addis Standard, raising concerns about a security crackdown in the aftermath of the killings.
The detention followed attacks by armed men in Chole and Birbo kebeles that left at least 48 people dead and more than 31 others injured, according to residents who spoke to Addis Standard. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church’s #Holy_Synod subsequently reported that 60 Orthodox Christians were killed in attacks on 20 and 24 October across two woredas in Arsi Zone.
Attempts by Addis Standard to contact the regional communication bureau for further comment were unsuccessful.

Over 40 Orthodox Christians massacred in Ethiopia.
Homes burned, churches targeted, mass burials. Almost total silence from Western media and “human rights” groups.
When the victims are Black African Christians, the outrage disappears.

⛔️Ethiopia faces multiple active conflicts under Abiy Ahmed, including renewed fighting in Tigray since late September and ongoing violence in Amhara and Oromia. Recent reports confirm over 60 Orthodox Christians killed in Oromia attacks on Oct 20-24, with mass funerals in the video. ‼️
⛔️Accusations of genocide come from some activist groups citing patterns of civilian targeting, though no international court has ruled on it. Multiple sides report atrocities amid the instability.‼️

What the fuck is this? What is wrong with you people, .@AyanaFeyissa?
We don't have this shyte in Afar, we have been Muslim longer than all y'all. Why do the Oromo Muslims carrying out these attacks keep targeting Orthodox Christians while leaving Pentecostals and prosperity gospel followers
I feel like Oromo Prosperity Gospelers and Oromo Wahabis are working together in a tribal past to finish us all.
Personally, I see this sectarian bullshit as an import from your Zionist allies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. I don’t trust any Oromo Muslim who supports a Netanyahu admirer like Abiy.
This is happening in Ethiopia and your biggest priority is to make Addis into Finfine, MrMekekerX Komitee???

Video footage of the 60 Christians in Ethiopia who were massacred by Muslims.
Enough is enough!
Christians, you are called to defend your wives, your children, your communities, and your nations. You are called to be strong and courageous.
You are called to FIGHT EVIL in this world!
It’s either you or them.
It’s either fight back or die.
If Christians do not find the courage to fight back against the Muslim scourge, then Christianity will eventually be conquered by the death-cult of Islam — and your children’s children will be MUSLIM.
Your children’s children will be raised in the pure evil of Islam to the destruction of their everlasting souls.
Is that what you want for your posterity?
They won’t know the True God (Jehovah).
They won’t know the True Messiah (Jesus).
They won’t know the True Word (the Holy Bible).
And it will all be because YOU were too cowardly to pick up a gun and shoot back!
Don’t mistake weakness for virtue.
Don’t mistake passivity for goodness.
Don’t mistake cowardice for godliness.
God be with us all.

The continued targeted attacks against Christians in Ethiopia are completely unacceptable.
All parties to the conflict need to take steps to ensure that Christians and all people of faith are protected from this violence and that the perpetrators are punished.

Thank you to the Daily Mail for bringing international attention to the horrific massacre of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia's Oromia region. The reported killing of more than 40 innocent civilians is not an isolated tragedy but part of a deeply disturbing pattern of violence, displacement, and persecution affecting Amhara communities and the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. For far too long, the suffering of these communities has received insufficient international attention. Every murdered child, every grieving family, and every destroyed home represents a human tragedy that demands more than expressions of sympathy. It demands independent investigation, accountability, and sustained international scrutiny. I urge the Daily Mail and other international media organizations to continue investigating these atrocities and amplifying the voices of the victims. Silence must never become complicity.
