UX: We've discovered several friction points for our users in our flagship service
Biz: We can't prioritize this, we need to ship more features & services
1 year later...
UX: We're seeing a lot of users leaving our service largely b/c competitor products are easier to use

Why aren’t we focusing AI on chores like laundry and dishes? Or mundane and redundant tasks?
Why are we having it focus on creating art & writing novels? This is what humans would prefer to do if they didn’t have to work.

Good copy focuses on the benefit.
Great copy focuses on the benefit and the cost of indecision.
To motivate a prospect, you need to paint the picture of the transformation and show them the cost of not solving the problem.

One major sin of social media is to pick things that seem logical but don’t hold up to scrutiny.
This tweet is a classic example
The direction of travel is easy to infer. The signs are two sided. People don’t enter travelators backwards.
The intended audience won’t scrutinise.

Are we really discussing if you should box the inputs or not? And we wonder why business folk don't take designers seriously! Also depends on the user base. Are they young, old, tech savvy, not tech savvy etc. Test with real users rather than asking other designers.

I talked to a super smart 20 year old this week.
All the potential in the world, but had a major major flaw in his thinking.
This flaw is becoming the most common mistake I am seeing young people make early in their career.
Let's break it down:

To think that we can just march in and understand domains that have deep and nuanced details, practices, and knowledge is just plain arrogance.
For many managers in these fields, they’re better off hiring folks with this deep knowledge already & teaching them UX.

In learning about the world of science (how to read journals, p-values, etc) you realize two things:
1. Scientific journals tell you things that won't become mainstream for 5-20 years
2. Most doctors don't have time to keep up with journals, so you're getting 20-year-old advice

I really like @tobi's idea of a trust battery. The concept that over time, your interaction with people either charges or depletes the trust they have in you, and you have with them.

Avoid the 3 monsters: perfection monster (tells you it's not perfect yet, symptom is procrastination), advice monster (quick to prescribe w/o complete understanding of the problem), & the people pleaser monster (seeks the validation of others: parents, peers, professors).
