Why it’s best to avoid having conversations on social media with people you don’t actually know. Phones down, smile and move on, and go help someone you do actually know.

Looks like an automated msg. It’s also written with ChatGPT but I would still be interested to see his work if I needed this help. I say that because as a designer you could likely judge the work in under 5 seconds.

Why wine rather than beer? I can’t imagine them drinking wine.

I’m more concerned that the first experience is “taste Sabrina Carpenter”!

Kids need to have arguments with their parents about homework :) It’s how they learn to deal with conflict. But they will learn that soon enough when they find there are no jobs for humans!

Could the extra items be positioned in a secondary sub nav above the main nav?

So you expect users to just admire the animation while they wait for the weather ticker to move across, all while hovering. This isn’t design!

Something is broken when one of the very best visual designers says that without working for free he wouldn’t have made it. It really is our fault we have devalued the so called profession of ‘design’.

Let’s be honest. Far too many clicks to record something.

I’ve never understood this. Imagine a cleaner saying they can’t do the whole house, they can only do kitchens!

You forgot one point. They clearly make sure the battery only lasts a few years to influence that decision to upgrade!

Good article and 100% agree. Figma needs to remind itself it’s not Canva. I have never met a designer phased by a blank page!

Not really sure what you are suggesting? That this is a good thing that his team have fooled people with smoke and mirrors.

I like this a lot because clarity is so important given that design is inherently messy and can be easily misunderstood.
I would only add I like to say ‘why’ I’m doing it and the ‘value’ it adds. Eg. We are going to do research so that we make sure we design the right thing…

Agree. Might just take time to reconfigure ingrained muscle memory.

Don’t really understand why it needed changing!
