The “who’s on first” scene is one of the most interesting parts of the movie for me. Whether or not you think she was faking it determines how you see the whole thing
It’s a very good movie but if your takeaway is that Elizabeth Holmes might be a neurodivergent victim I think you have forcibly disconnected yourself from reality. More specifically, she *obviously* gets The Who’s on First joke—and is profoundly motivated to pretend she doesn’t.

There’s an argument that both the Han dynasty and the Roman Empire failed due to a massive expansion of property/land tax exemptions in a very similar vein to prop 13.

Opinions from inside the tech bubble are so funny. 'Elizabeth Holmes is a sociopath and narcissist who will do anything, even kill people, to raise the valuation of her company. I don't see how this is interesting, everyone is like that.'
nathan fielder has an almost incomprehensible film making talent and he’s wasting it on some quite boring subject matter. there is nothing very interesting about elizabeth holmes or billy evans

Abundance usually gets explained as a list of problems: zoning, permits, licensing, slow approvals. Here’s what we'd actually get if we fixed them: Lunch costs $4, like it does in Japan and Singapore. Most US cities require three or four separate sinks, which makes a kitchen under 200 square feet nearly impossible. Anyone can open an owl cafe or a vegan lesbian bookstore. Japan is full of tiny, oddly specific businesses run by one or two people. They survive because small spaces are cheap and enough people live close enough to walk in. A room in a big city for $400 a month. These buildings housed millions of low-income and older Americans until cities banned most of them by the 1980s. A three-bedroom apartment you can stay in after you have a kid. US codes require two staircases in buildings over three stories, so family-sized units only fit on the corners. Most of the world allows one staircase. A new electric car for about $10,000. China sells these globally. Americans can't buy it. A government so dependable it's boring. When a loved one dies, you report it once instead of to every agency. We can decide to make it happen here. The full list has 16 things, from taco trucks on every corner to no more pandemics. I wrote this to also announce that today is DC Abundance's official launch! If you’re in DC, come celebrate and see the G.O.A.T. Derek Thompson speak!

What a bunch of nonsense to attack Pitt. Your life isn’t a rip off because Pitt is a world-leading research institution that attracts the best and brightest. Your life is a rip off because the President and Vice President bumbled into a failed war with Iran, start reckless trade wars, and enrich their corrupt and powerful friends at our expense. Hail to Pitt!

My grandparents lived 2 blocks from Pitt’s campus. My brother & I played little league on campus. Family members worked for Pitt. My brothers went there, I went to grad school & am fortunate to teach @ Pitt now. Pitt is a force for good in western PA. @JDVance is full of it. #H2P

As the former Mayor of PittsburgH and the former Member of Council & Chief of Staff who represented Pittsburgh’s University district for 19 years (1995-2014) before serving as Mayor for 8 years (2014-2022), I tell you, without question, this is racist bullshit.

Ossoff: Just about every week I dial up Georgia mayors and pastors and farmers to find out how I can help. And one day, I called up Mayor Julie Smith, just up the road from Valdosta, in Tifton. Mayor Smith's a Republican, too. She told me the Tifton hospital needed new dialysis equipment. She explained how Tifton's dialysis center serves 12 south Georgia counties, and they just couldn't meet the need. So I delivered the funds to upgrade that south Georgia clinic, and now it can serve 200 dialysis patients. And Republican Mayor Julie Smith is backing this campaign too. Up north in Toccoa, then-mayor Gail Fry, another Georgia Republican, told me Toccoa's gas lines were wearing out, and a leak could risk lives. We needed to get moving quick to replace miles of old pipes. So I delivered the funds for Toccoa's new gas lines, and Georgia Republican Gail Fry's backing this campaign too. Because, see, hurricanes and diabetes and gas leaks don't check party affiliation when they hit. And when it comes to serving Georgia, I don’t either.
