Tomorrow, I’m chaperoning my son’s first kindergarten field trip. Me, a few other parents, and 24 feral 5/6 year olds. I’m irrationally excited. Parenting is so exhausting and I complain about it constantly (often with good reason), but it also rules. Thanks for writing this.

Clever stuff all around here, salute. South and especially southwest Georgia (not in this market, but nearby Columbus) is super important to Bottoms, and Jolly can’t do anything without juicing black support. Cross state DMAs ftw
Keisha Lance Bottoms and David Jolly will hold a rally together tomorrow in Tallahassee at Florida A&M University, her alma mater, per Jolly’s campaign. His campaign notes the media market reaches “voters across ten counties in Georgia and nine counties in Florida.” #GAGOV #FLGOV

Signing of the Meech Lake Accord. IYKYK
What is the oldest political news story you can remember? For me it's Joe Biden being selected as Obama's VP.

Roy Cooper 2026
Roy Cooper: Every single day I talk with somebody who reminds me why I decided to run for the US Senate. Just last night, I was with a woman who came up to me in tears. She talked about the brain surgery she had to have and couldn't get before. She hugged me and said, "I want you to know that Medicaid expansion saved my life."

We talked about this on @HacksOnTap yesterday and @JohnAnzo and others have been on it for a while - these Libertarian candidates have the potential to take up huge chunks of the disaffected GOP vote and lower Dem threshold to victory to <50. Exhibits A-C, your honor.
Cook Political Report just released 3 polls: —Iowa: GOV: Sand up 53/43 SEN: Turek up 46-44, with Libertarian at 8 —Ohio GOV: Acton up 48/43 SEN: Brown up 49/43, with two others at 7 —Texas GOV: Abbott up 48/46 SEN: Talarico up 49/44, with Libertarian at 4

I think people know this but worth saying out loud that in addition to both being Ohioans, JD and Vivek were classmates at Yale Law School (2013). Telling your friends when they are being pieces of shit is part of the job description, but can’t say I expected better of the VP.
At his Cincinnati rally, Vance says Democrats have thrown "every dirty trick in the political book at Vivek" “Now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar" #OHGOV

i just want to say that @JesseFFerguson is really fucking good at this and everyone should listen to him
New: The consensus among Democrats' strategic brain trust is the issues of affordability and corruption should be tied together. That's good news for the party's progressive wing on economics — because it fits with the rhetoric and policy ideas they've long preferred.

There is also a 100% chance we will see more of this in 28, especially in the primaries, because anyone wanting to influence the primary knows between on here and most reporters, polling data is heroin. Wouldn’t be surprised to see foreign state actors get in this game.
There’s a non-zero chance McMorrow’s campaign saw this fake poll and was a factor in her decision to drop out.

Given how fast Florida counts and how red this district is (was?), this is probably the first race I’m looking at on Election Night to see where the winds are blowing. Gray is a great candidate who can win, but even a close race would be telling.
Replying to @cjwarnke

0.00% chance. However, 100% chance these kind of polls affect donor (low and high dollar) and media decision making.
Also possible that Wedgewood’s fake Mississippi poll got Senate Dems interested in investing in the Senate race there.

I’m old enough to remember when public polls of various and sundry methodologies determined whether or not you qualified for a presidential debate. Good times!
