What a surprise. Guess what BC, this means they are going to say the budget is too messed to keep their campaign promises.
.@LDoerkson said today interest payments are "choking the economy" & commits to an independent investigation into BC's finances. Said the $1B accounting error by the @bcndp has him "terrified" at what else they might discover.

A history on all the moniker's the Conservatives have used through the years. Make no mistake, different names but same Conservative leanings. xitter.cf/BillTieleman/status/21…
The BC Liberal and BC Conservative Parties formed a coalition government from 1941 to 1952; then WAC Bennett ‘s Social Credit took over from 1952 to 1972 as a centre-right coalition, when Dave Barrett‘s NDP won; in 1975, Bill Bennett resurrected Social Credit and they were in power until 1991 when Mike Harcourt and the NDP won; Gordon Campbell built a new centre-right coalition under the BC Liberal banner and won in 2001 and governed until 2017, when John Horgan’s NDP became government with support from Andrew Weaver’s Greens to displace Christy Clark. The BC Liberals became BC United under then Leader Keven Falcon but he cancelled the party’s election campaign in 2024 in favour of John Rustad‘s BC Conservative Party - ironically Falcon had thrown Rustad out of BC United! Rustad was forced out in 2025 by his caucus and Party executive and Kerry-Lynne Findlay was elected Leader by the membership in 2026 but was also forced out by the caucus, with Lorne Doerkson being selected interim leader by the caucus MLAs, and is now Premier-elect. Whew! 🥵#bcpoli #cdnpoli #vanpoli

This was the most vote against election in decades. Most people probably don't even know the new Premier's name. If Doerkson is smart he'll remember that.

I moved to BC from ON recently and was saving $400/month in ins/hydro/rent but privatizing ICBC INS costs will soar expect msp payments and cuts to Healthcare specifically women's heath, education and daycare. Most people dont make enough to benefit from tax cuts! So stupid BC !

- Banned corporate political donations - Created publicly funded IVF - Let pharmacists prescribe medication for minor ailments - Legislated for transit-oriented development and denser housing options - Implemented the home flipping tax And much more I’m forgetting I’m sure. 8/

I think this is backward, Greg. The BC NDP govt supported the pipeline (since a big quid pro quo deal with Ottawa in July). First Nations are the most consequential opponent. The new Conservative govt’s attacks on DRIPA & other Indigenous issues make a deal with them less likely.
This the right take. BC's social democratic (NDP) government wasn't the only obstacle to exporting more Canadian energy via the west coast, but it was a consequential one. A Conservative government makes everything easier.

He has no clue what he’s talking about. Both LNG expansions and the Pacific Link are at risk if he tries to repeal this. And people thought Eby was bad on DRIPA. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Premier-elect Lorne Doerkson explains how he would work with First Nations in a post-DRIPA world: "If DRIPA had the opportunity to solve the problems in this province, we wouldn't be in court. Legislation that forces two parties together does not seem very beneficial."

Difference with BC Cons in power? BC media eg Global BC will no longer breathlessly report on ER closures, public disorder and random crimes. If they do mention the stories they’ll be buried after the weather report. Their agenda is complete. #bcpoli
The onslaught of rural hospital closures will accelerate in BC after the conservatives victory. Also, I can't imagine any sane doctor would relocate to a province infested with MAGA friendly far right nutters.

BC Cons’ big tent: China asset; MLAs who pledge allegiance to Trump; antivaxxers; will bring their true selves to legislature, the ones with no respect for rules, civility. And ice queen Christy Clark is advising the leader. #bcpolitics
How is Premier Designate Lorne Doerkson going to deal with his new MLA Gordon Zhang from South Surrey who is now the new Richmond-Steveston Conservative MLA? Certainly much bigger concern will arise if he is appointed to Cabinet

Lorne Doerkson must send a big gift to thank Emily Lowan and @BCGreens for running candidates in 73 ridings, only winning two for themselves and gifting 13 seats to BC Conservatives. #bcpolitics #cndpoli
13 ridings lost to Green vote splitting 51-40-2 is the result if the Green Party suspended and endorsed NDP in districts they weren't even close to winning 13 seats f*cked away The Tories would still have a majority, but that moves the needle, it's not nothing #bcelxn #bcpoli

The BC Public Health Officer is not political, is independent of government. If Lorne Doerkson fires Dr Bonnie Henry there will be hell to pay. Is he going to put antivaxxer Anna Kindy in the job to go full MAGA? #bcpoli #cndpoli
The BC Cons won a majority David Eby resigned.  This means Bonnie Henry is out as well! The NDP reign of terror has come to an end.  We shall see if the Liberal infiltrated BC Conservatives will keep their word on removing SOGI and rescinding DRIPA and reversing the land grabs!  Even though Dallas Brodie lost her seat we all owe her a great debt of gratitude as she helped shift the conversation in BC politics to focus on the critical issues …SOGI, repealing DRIPA, ending the land grabs, dealing with drugs and crime and so much more. I pray the BC Cons will keep their word. We must remain vigilant to ensure they do. #OneBC

Another cheap shot from the muppet pundit class. The prices were set by the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel where the event was held, surely. #bcpoli

From the day he called the snap election I thought, why didn’t Eby step down as leader instead and the party choose an interim one? I know they were stretched but why risk an election? Was it hubris or did no one else want the job? Anyone know? #bcpoli

While I doubt the Greens will be a deciding factor in BC’s election, imagine if we had Proportional Representation & the Greens + fringe parties like One BC would get seats and hold the balance of power! That’s why I’ve led the opposition in three referenda! #bcpoli #vanpoli

People in homes full of stuff made in China typing out angry essays about Canada trading with Turkey is peak internet performance. Please, tell us more about your strict moral supply chain standards.
Mark Carney defends engaging with Turkey despite its record on LGBTQ rights: "Engagement is not approval. There are very few countries in this world that have the standards of Canada, the rights of Canada, the conviction of Canada."

BC doctors concerned about the direction of healthcare, worry no more! Temu-RFK Jr👇here will be our new health minister. Who needs public health anyway? Dr Brian Day will be thrilled to have this puppet to manipulate. #cndpoli #bcpoli
Lorne Doerkson has refused to rule out appointing Anna Kindy, the BC Conservatives’ health critic, as his health minister. Kindy has said natural immunity is “superior to vaccines,” according to Black Press. /2

If the BC Conservatives win today’s provincial election, that means party members could effectively determine who becomes the next premier after British Columbians have already voted. Their track record is not good @VoteCentreBC
