I was asking my daughter what students at her university would do if Mr Rattley walked into their lecture theatre. I found myself thinking about her mates from sixth form, who used to spend their free periods in my front room because we lived closest to school. I can just imagine them giggling their heads off, barely able to suppress their laughter. “Some people would laugh,” she said. “But some people would be annoyed at you for laughing.” “Because they thought he was unwell?” I asked.
